Well I guess I have to count myself "lucky" that I bought all of wave 1 and a few extra of wave 1.
And have all of Wave 2 ordered already.

They're still profiting. It's about money in the end so it doesn't matter who buys them so long as they're bought.more like they told ebayers to camp out for releases.
Embarrassing. They should have stated which would be limited availability.
This doesn't make any sense. Typical Nintendo i guess.
I got my Samus, so I'm done with Amiibo collecting until Shulk shows up, but this really baffles me. Activision and Disney have already demonstrated with Skylanders and Infinity how to properly release and distribute the collectible NFC figure product reasonably so everyone who wants a particular figure can get it eventually. Nintendo had a model to follow that two other major companies had already done right, so what the hell happened?
Captain toad, Yoshi's woolly world, Mario Maker, And Mario Party 10 will support themYeah... I don't think Nintendo has any idea what to do with Amiibo. What else supports them? HW and MK8?
If they aren't going to have them compete with Skylanders/Disney, what te hell was the big point with them other than being collectibles and lvl11 smash CPU's?
Nintendo artificially limiting supply to drive up demand is really slimy of them...

Retailers will still carry Amiibo it will just be Mario, Link, DK, Pikachu the money makers Best Buy has no incentive to keep obscure characters on the shelf when they carry more Mario, and PikachusI got my Samus, so I'm done with Amiibo collecting until Shulk shows up, but this really baffles me. It hardly needs stating. Anyone could have told you that Marth, Wii Fit Trainer and Villager were going to be the least popular/manufactured Amiibo from Wave One.
Heres a cheat sheet for the upcoming waves, from most to least popular (and therefore common to rare/most likely to be discontinued);
Wave Two
Luigi
Zelda
Diddy Kong
Captain Falcon
Pit
Little Mac
Wave Three
Bowser
Lucario (retailer exclusive)
Sonic
Toon Link
Rosalina and Luma (retailer exclusive)
King Dedede
Meta Knight (retailer exclusive)
Mega Man
Sheik
Ike
Shulk (retailer exclusive)
Expect Pit, Little Mac, Shulk, Sheik and Mega Man to dissapear just as quickly.
It isn't? I thought it was only sold out at the Gamestop I was.Toon Link is not even out yet is it?
So it helps resellers, not Nintendo.
A bit off-topic, but it's been confirmed that GameStop is getting another shipment next week and I doubt they're special here.
So far the only ones that are hard to find are Marth, wft, and villager. The others are still readily available. They need space for the next couple of waves too since retail space is limited. This sure is a great idea. Think of how much more successful Skylanders would be if Activision had just kept people from being able to buy them. Stupid Activision, making more money by selling more things. They'll never learn.
February waveIt isn't? I thought it was only sold out at the Gamestop I was.
Come on... supply/demand is basic economics, less supply (can) = more demand. People are more likely to jump on a Marth figurine simply because it's so hard to find, it helps Nintendo.
So something that's popular their going to stop production....seems logical.
I feel the same wayI only need Marth. My inner OCD collector is going nuts, and I refuse to pay more then $25 for him. Fuck scalpers.
Does anyone think Nintendo plans to not support these Amiibo's for future games?
Or maybe even making version2 of the popular figures when Mario Kart 9 or Smash Wii U 2 comes out and not allowing the version1 work with those games.
Nintendo "We don't want to make money".
Jesus Christ.
