Happy pappy Zelda.
I'm going to need a definition for happy pappy.
Happy pappy Zelda.
That'd be cool. I'm trying to figure out if Miyamoto's comments about apples being in the trees before was implying that they had removed them for the demo, or that they appear only at certain "times" in the game
Link uses both bomb arrows and that mech/magic arrow in the first trailer, so i'd say it's safe to assume that he does switch arrow types.
Link is hawkeye in this game.

That thin OoT waist. Unrealistic standards, if you ask me.
Can we come together and agree that the enemy in the reveal is an octorok?
Come on, people. It's an octorok. It's a fancy, robot octorok.
Many Zelda games have a big shift once you get a bit into them
In ALTTP/ALBW you unlocked the Dark World/Lorule
In Ocarina you traveled 7 years into the future
In TP you got the ability to turn into a wolf whenever (WOW.gif) also the game's pace sped up by a huge margin
What do you guys think they could do for this game?
We didn't even talk about him yet.

Fine. It.
Hmm, it's a lot more like a beamos I think.
Thank you.
Okay, I'll entertain this notion. I'm asserting octorok because it has multiple tentacles, can move through water, and shoots shit. But it shoots lasers which is clearly beamos territory.
Tektites have multiple legs, move on water, and only have one eye. It's more tektite than octorok.
Nothing.
Drop the gimmicks. I don't need to time travel or turn into an animal.
Give Link his quest for the master sword, his desire to assist Zelda, and a tense battle with Ganon/dorf at the end.
Keep it simple.
Epona and side quests are a given. The world looks beautiful already.
Don't fuck this up Nintendo.
Well, shit. I was pretty confident about this and everyone is raising good points.
BUT tektites jump whereas this guy sort of lurches.
But what if you time travel AS an animal? Like a time travel pangolin? Just think about that!
Best of both worlds, if you ask me.
Well, it has a beamos on its back, so it's probably too heavy to jump!

I'd prefer a flying squirrel, personally.
Oh shiiii...
Someone overlay the Great Sea over this map. Do it. :0

That part in LttP with the rabbit-Link always bugged me.![]()

I'm kinda salty that we've never had Death Mountain go into full eruption mode. Could be triggered by a villian, making a volcanic winter take place.

It's the bow. That's my prediction. Something about it is special hence why Link is able to go into slow-motion in midair and why it's gotten more focus than Link's sword. Probably has to do with time travel or slowing down time. Many Zelda games have a big shift once you get a bit into them

Now that I think about it Time Travel Termite sounds much better than Time Travel Pangolin.
It could also mean that Link goes Minish Cap again. This time as a termite. Link could build mounds and all... AONUMA, PLEAAAASE!
I think I'm done with pre-launch Zelda hype. My body can't take it anymore.
Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword were way too disappointing. I'm hoping they are going to take some good lessons from LBW and buck the trend with Zelda U.
I wouldn't mind if this was just the Zelda 1 formula brought to life again by the Wii U. Minimal story, huge overworld with tons of things to discover and the entire world open from the start.
Also, that overworld needs to be densely packedEpona running through empty, grass plains has me worried.like Dark Souls.

99% sure it's just an effect used to make it easier to transition from horseback to on-foot in the midst of a heated situation, not actually story-related in any way.
1. Majora's Mask -2. Ocarina of Time -It simply has a lot of feels3. Link's Awakening -Distopian future. You lose all your friends and Zelda says goodbye to you4. The Wind Waker -You lose Marin and the rest of the islandHyrule is dead. Pobre Ganondorf and King Daphnas

Nintendo really likes to tie gameplay mechanics into the story though.
Hmm...I'll spoiler tag this I guess. If I had to rank the feels of the Zelda series it would go like this:
Far below that
5. Skyward Sword -6. Twilight Princess -Zelda fell asleep for a few ingame hours. Fi left.Queen Rutela died. Midna left.
It just needs more feels.
Just adding to the Hyrule geographical study...
EDIT: Actually I think Link is a bit further to the South-East.
Good analysis by Gamexplain as always. Yet i have to disagree about the location of the middle part of the video. I think its actually in the east of lake Hylia, right betweem the starting point, the dungeon and the lake.
Still kinda dissapointed with lake Hylia as the actuall location - i was hoping for an even bigger world where all the gameplay was just some stroll in the southeast.
An open world that big... as a minish... would take 300 hours to get from corner to corner.
Just gotta learn to appreciate a zelda game for what it *IS*, not what it WAS in your imagination.
I usually really criticize TP narrative, but I think the game did this part as good as any other game. So did SS. Although I understand this is your point of view on the matter.
You're asking for disappointment. Dark Souls is not an open world game. It has intricate, classically-designed levels that are joined together in a manner that appears seamless. Best case scenario, you'll find that kind of design in the dungeons, but asking for Dark Souls density in a game with a map that's going to dwarf Dark Souls is asking too much.

I was thinking this is a real possibility at this point. When I watched the game play demo, with all those sprawling mountains and rocky outcroppings that rise into the sky, I kept thinking how it looked more like Wind Waker without the water. Plus Link isn't wearing his usual outfit, but he is wearing blue every time we've seen him, and primarily fighting with a bow instead of a sword.
It would kind of make sense if it was the Great Flood.
I don't know, the Dark Souls overworld is pretty damn massive. Also, the bolded is literally what I'd like to see from a Zelda overworld. You explained it perfectly. I'd gladly take a "smaller" overworld if it means less emptiness. I think the density and amount of stuff to do in the overworld is one of the main reasons why I enjoyed Link Between Worlds more than... any Zelda since Majora's Mask.
People are tired of hearing it, but I also agree that Dark Souls felt an awful lot like an extension of classic, 2D Zelda in many ways.
You know what I really love about the design from this new Zelda? That the world is not just flat or a huge area surrounded by some mountains...no it has lakes and mountains just here and there and everywhere. Skyrim for comparison has a lot more of plain fields with not much of diversity in his landscapes. The new hyrule has so many winding edges and paths...I can't wait to investigate all the hidden secrets they may lead to.^^
