Holy shit, look at that cast!

Edit:
That looks fucking crazy
GOOD!

Stunning. Some shots look like they were taken from a modern Godard movie though, I wonder what's up with that.

At first the film looked tonally unlike anything Malick has done before. Then the second half of the trailer happened and FUCK.

I need this film so bad now.

To be fair, all trailers for Malick films are bursting with this sense of magic and awe. But there's no way to tell if this will be another masterpiece, or yet another extremely pretty turd sandwich.

And Bale is, at best, the third reason to go see this behind Malick and Blanchett.

Can't say I'd call any of Malick's films a turd sandwich. Didn't care for To The Wonder but I wouldn't use those words to describe it.

malick is a god.

i read a while ago that either this one or the one with goose & mara will have malick treading new ground, make it slightly different than what you'd expect from him. i think one of these two films is supposed to be more dialogue-heavy than usual.

Please dont suk.

To the Wonder really blew. It was almost like a parody of Malick.

A lot of the shots here look like they coulda been taken from The Tree of Life (beach scenes, baby crawling, one of the buildings looks really like the one Sean Penns character worked in in TToL) and TTW.

Thin Red Line was on Irish tv last night. Dem Witt feels.

I'm very intrigued, though I can't deny some of those shots of Bale in the suit by the water and tall buildings evoke thoughts of Sean Penn's role in Tree of Life, which is not a good thing.

Is this the full cast? Im guessing everyone else missing was cut from the film?

To The Wonder is best watched on mute with the baroque composer of your choice playing in the background. The turdiness really pops if you consume it any other way.

All good, though. Between Tree of Life/New World/Thin Red Line alone he's blown me away more than most directors ever will.

Still waiting patiently for that movie he supposedly made about the music scene in Austin, but this one looks pretty nice.

Holy shit that looks good. Got some 8 1/2 vibes from it. Also, I need that trailer music.

I was pretty disappointed with To The Wonder too, it really nothing for me, but The Tree of Life is a masterpiece, I love The New World, and eventually came around (lol) on The Thin Red Line, so I'm in for this day one.

Another pretentious film people will pretend to like to feel like they are smart.

Asserting that people who like movies you don't like must be putting on an act -- i.e. only movies you like must be good, and anything else must suck -- is in of itself extremely pretentious.

Looks interesting. I like Malick's cinematography, the shots are visually stunning. The only film of his I've seen is Tree Of Life, which I liked.

So yeah, looking forward to this. Good cast too.
