Forza Horizon 2 | Storm Island Add-On revealed

YES! This is exactly the kind of DLC I've been dreaming of!

I loved the offroad races in Horizon 2. I already played the hell out of it, but will definitely pick this up.

I think it might be my favorite racing game of all time.

So, I loved the hell out of the Rally expansion for Horizon 1, but was always disappointed that there was no free roam element to it. It was just discrete events w/ load times.

Is this the free roam rally I've always wanted from Horizon? Because that trailer makes it look like it.

Are the weather effects only for the island? Getting the main game for Christmas, and this sounds great. Hopefully this and the VIP pass go on sale before New Years.

The rain and wind are really moving. The trees are getting knocked around pretty well too. Looking forward to in-car views.

We need hurricanes and tornadoes. It's pretty depressing that the only racer to attempt this is FUEL, I'd love to see someone more competent take a crack at it.

Thats a good question but I am guessing it is just for the island. Would be nice if they introduced the new weather on the main game but they wont throw that into the old races or events.

Now

I would kill for an online mode where you were forced to use simulation damage and it was a sort of demolition derby...
explosions would be great too

Helios, plz

I'd like to see it affect your car, Have it blown around a bit. Any racers do that? I'd like to see the next FH to have a slider for weather simulation impact on the physics. I wanted to slide more in the rain.

I would love a catastrophic event style Forza game. Forzageddon sounds like a good name to me.

EDIT: Looks like a few of us want massive destruction. LOL

It's funny how FH2 fans don't want any comments or posts comparing the weather to DriveClub but yet in every DC thread there were drive by shit posts by fans of an other game? It's not open world blah blah. Graphics are nothing special blah blah!

So you're saying that you're crapping up one thread just because some fools did the same to the DC thread?

Yes, the whole island is completely free roam. :)

They confirmed it in the IGN gameplay demo.

Only FUEL so far as I know. There might have been others that I missed though, but FUEL is the one that instantly comes to mind. The only problem was it a technical mess, glitches, bugs, garbage handling, poor physics. It was a terrible game, the only real saving grace was the weather, specifically racing during a tornado and it changing the layout of the track.

I love this idea. Doesn't even need to be a big budget release, release it as an expansion and go from there.

This is really where DLC should come into its own. It should serve as an outlet for developers to try crazy new things and see if there's any demand for something bigger/more substantial based on the reception/sales.

TI'm very open to debate and have had numerous lively ones. Posting very obvious sarcastic posts that make fun of others stupid posts doesn't derail threads

You've been expressly told to stop by mods in the past because it continues to feed the "genuine" shit posts.

It's tiresome.

It's been a while since I played it but I think Motorstorm Apocalypse had hurricanes and tornadoes.

Mario Kart Double Dash has tornadoes on one track. :P

...bridges?

Interesting. Any size comparisons for the new island to other sections of the map?
Well there's a road that you can't enter near the airfield I always wondered why that was there, maybe for future DLC. Edit: nvm, it's a car meet spot.

So this doesn't really surprise me that new ground will be connected to the existing map. Sill good news to hear that confirmed though.

Oh god, I'm already starting to succumb to this DLC.

Does the inclement the weather pop up at times in free roam or is it limited to events? I'm fine either way but curious.

Are rally upgrade kits available in this?

Also it would be great to see a map of the new island and super-impose it within the retail game's map.

This looks wicked, obviously DC weather effects look better but then FH2 is a much better driving game. I'll take gameplay over graphics any day

It doesn't mention Season Pass holders, is this not included? I know I get a discount for being a VIP but that seems a bit crappy for people who spent over £70 buying the day one "ultimate" edition from the store.

There isn't a season pass. Theres a car pass.

This looks seriously awesome. I always preferred offroad racing games. Made me realise i barely played horizon 2. Urgently need to jump back in

I'm excited for more Playground games. Some of my best times was playing the tag variants. They did a really nice job creating cool spots for the games, along with options for three sizes of maps, and which class car you have to use.

More games in that environment looks like a freaking blast. I can imagine the Bucket Lists challenges are going to be fun, too.

This really is coming at about the right time, as I just nailed down the my last road discovered, and I'm close to finishing off smashing all of the boards. I still have a ton of bucket challenges to do, as some are a lot harder than I would have thought.

But an island with lots of hills, uneven terrain, and plenty of spots in which you will catch air looks like a perfect add.

I probably have 150 hours in the game, and I still have a variety of fun stuff to do besides knocking seconds off my times every time I boot it up. My wife has even taken to watching me play as I bounce between finding stuff and taking on bucket challenges and continuing championships. It doesn't get boring because it can feel like a completely different game every time I boot it up, depending on what I want to do. Better yet, it is just as fun and engaging online as it is offline.

Like others, I am hoping for a future new area that will feature the Swiss Alps. That might actually finish off everything I want out of this world they created.

Such a great, great game.
