Forza Horizon 2 | Storm Island Add-On revealed

Now

I would kill for an online mode where you were forced to use simulation damage and it was a sort of demolition derby...
explosions would be great too

Helios, plz

Play an online road trip in regular FH2 and you'll get plenty enough destruction derby gameplay :)

Does Hawk do it? Do a majority of the people in this topic do it?

Yeah, not sure why that guy quoted my post when you look at the beginning of the Driveclub OT, I was one of the posters that loved the game. I had my share of complaints due to the tech issues on-line, but outside of that I think DC is a fantastic game as is FH2.

It's always fun to race your friends from event to event. Avoiding the debris my friends leave as they smash their way across the map can be hilarious.

I can't imagine what the trips between events on Storm Island will be like. Should be fun.

I would totally buy the VIP, but only if it worked on past levels. Like letting me get the bonus spins.

Is it possible?

What an awesome surprise; I can't wait to grab this.

As impressive as that looks, DC has set a new bar for weather effects for me and this doesn't even come to matching those.

Still, looks cool. I'll check it out and hope this reignites my love for Horizon 2.

I doubt FH2 will ever come close regardless of updates, but what is there is gorgeous. But DC's effects are on another level.

FH2 has got to be the best racer I've played in years. It's a blast just cruising around. I'll pick this DLC up eventually, but with Elite:Dangerous coming out, that's all I can think about.

What exactly are the benefits of Vip? I guess either way you slice it you can get the DLC + Vip for 30.

The discounts, double bonuses on the Wheelspin ingame (2x credits when credits are awarded, or when a car is awarded, it's car + car's value), "exclusive events", and various cars gifted to you, and the VIP car pack:
2012 Lamborghini Urus
2014 Tesla Model S
1967 Ferrari 330 P4
1949 Mercury Coupe
2013 Donkervoort D8 GTO

Every time you level up in the game you get a wheelspin that rewards you money or a car. If you have VIP, your reward from that wheelspin is doubled (twice the cash or the car and the cash value of the car). You also get some gift cars here and there, and I think there's a rivals challenge that is exclusive to VIPs. I wasn't super impressed with the value it added, but now that you get VIP + Storm Island for $30 it looks like a pretty good deal.

Edit: Oh yeah, and like Admiester mentioned you get the car pack. All those cars are pretty fun.

Only FUEL so far as I know. There might have been others that I missed though, but FUEL is the one that instantly comes to mind. The only problem was it a technical mess, glitches, bugs, garbage handling, poor physics. It was a terrible game, the only real saving grace was the weather, specifically racing during a tornado and it changing the layout of the track.

You should really play Motorstorm Apocalypse if you have a PS3 :)

i'll probably nab this, but damn, really wanted rally dlc again.

Haha VIP don't get this for free? What the fucking fuck? All these season passes and VIP shit are such a goddamn scam.

Unfortunately, FH2 didn't go through a clusterfuck of a launch, so Microsoft can still charge for DLC. In this case, FH2 is pretty awesome straight out of the box. The car pack and such aren't necessary at all, and easy to pass on.

This DLC drops one hell of a lot content, so I have no problem paying the price. This isn't Destiny, where the DLC is just more of what people didn't like.

Of all the games to complain about excessive DLC, this really isn't one of them.

Thanks for the info, I was considering getting this. I've had a blast with FH2, definitely my biggest surprise of the year.

I think I'll pick up the VIP alongside the new DLC. Perfect timing for this release too, just reloaded on XBL bucks today.

Awesome-sounding DLC, though I still wish for a rally-focused one with icy roads, snow-blinding visibility, and very heavy elevation-changes in long, winding courses.

If i buy this add-on from the US store will it work with my EU copy of the game?

AFAIK, it should as there hasn't been an instance of region-locked DLC so far for X1.

Spotted car list, crosspost from the OT if anyone's interested.

- 1985 MG Metro 6R4 Group B
- 1992 Mitsubishi Galant VR4
- Mini All4 X-Raid
- 1987 Audi Quattro S2 (likely just aero parts for the existing Quattro)
- 2013 Robby Gordon #7 Speed Energy Drink Stadium Super Truck
- Ford Ranger trophy truck
- 1976 Ford Fiesta

Damn as a PS4 only guy, the cars in FH2 make me jealous!

Metro 6R4, would love that in a game :(

I don't do DLC, but this looks like a good old, honest, expansion pack to me! Will just have to see what the UK pricing is, any more than £15 and I will wait for special offers

I reckon it'll be £15.99 (same as the VIP DLC).

Gotta be honest, I find the VIP stuff somewhat scummy. It wouldn't be so bad if it carried across titles.

Have the game, but not an xbone till Xmas. The game having an expansion like this so soon just have drove my hype up for the game to ridiculous levels.

I'm not sure what the VIP gives you sure half price on this, but you are going to want some sort of guarantee that there will be several expansions to make the initial lay down worth it.

This game has done what no other racer could for me since Rallisport Challenge 2, make it fun to race and explore the gorgeous landscape. I'd find myself racing just to take in that Italian sun. Shall buy the dlc.

Also, I take it we can take our existing cars to this new area and aren't limited to the new cars? I want to take my RS6 Avant off roading. Love that car so much in this game.

Whole new location with new traversal moves, weapons and amps.

Interesting... Still waiting to see if I can get a sale on that game before picking it up. Will probably do so in January.
