Mix up your options. Tap away from the ledge --> Jump --> Best aerial attack in immediate success. Samus's F-Air, for example, is very reliable at keeping edgeguarders back as you make a landing. You making a habit of doing that? Stop. Long roll now. (Hold L or R.) Only going back and forth between those two? Stop. Get-up-attack with A. Just keep your opponent guessing with you you're gonna get back on the stage. Mix ups are EVERYTHING in a fighting game, both for defensive and offensive options.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. I think I was too predictable by getting up and then rolling every time.

I can fight you now if you want Jorge. Just post here to let me know when you are available.
I was having some games with falaw and now I'm going to eat so maybe later if ur still down

And man, dude we need to play again, we had some of the best games. Definitely some of the most fun ever I've had with this game. I couldn't stop xD your cap is amazing! Sometimes it felt like dbz haha

Any miscalculation equals death! Love it

Exactly! We both had major leads and then lost it all in some of those matches.

Anyway, GGs bro! It shouldn't have taken a month after the game came out for us to play, but now we gotta make it a regular thing lol. If you want to team up for some 2v2s against people here sometime, that would be awesome too. Our connection seemed near flawless.

AWESOME! We need to do it more often! I think we would make a great team

And you're right connection was great too

GGs. I can't express enough how amazing all those games were

I actually did discover that there's no Master Fortress in co-op with my roommate, but Master Core is the issue, not Master Fortress. Even if I did try to do it in co-op I'm guessing both players would have to go the entire run without losing a life and that'd probably be even more difficult. It wouldn't make Master Core himself much easier either since he has increased health in 2P to account for the second player.

Ah, all good points you're making. Well, I tried. ;)

I just tried a 9.0 run randomly with a customized Marth and got worked on 9.0, but was able to do it on 8.5. I dunno, it's looking like I'm probably going to have to hammer at least one of the 9.0 challenges...

Holy shit you guys, that new Mario Paint medley that was found in Smash Wii U's data?

It's fucking glorious. Like, it's perfect. I know it's probably just for the Miiverse stage, but damn if I don't want a Mario Paint stage now...

I thought this one would be mind-numbingly difficult as well...and then I discovered the "get 10 seconds of invincibility upon first strike" badge. That on top of an hp sucker and an attack badge and this was easy. Did it on my first try.

Good luck with that. I finally managed to overcome them all, though it took a lot of time and sanity.

Whoo, I finally managed to win a decent amount of matches in my latest round of For Glory. That was fun. Playing against people who are actually around the same skill level as you is fun

RANBATS:
Ranbats are basically defined as a local "league" of players. It's kind of like a tournament, but more casual and relaxed in its setting. Everyone plays on a set weekly basis, and players accumulate points to "win" the season. There are no rewards here; it's just a way to keep folks playing and meeting new people, and it adds a level of discussion for the community.

EXPECTATIONS:
-You will play a FT5 (first to 5 wins is declared the winner of the set) once per week with someone on the ranbat list, minimum (up for discussion).
-You will be respectful toward others, and understand that this is intended for fun - be a good sport.
-1v1.
-No items/customs.
-2 stock with an 8-minute timer (up for discussion if folks want another standard).
-No stages with hazards.
-Round Robin format (everyone plays everyone once - the player with the most wins at the end wins the season).

Fair warning: the Google Form asks for your e-mail. The only reason I am asking for this information is to give you a Google Spreadsheet invite for recording match data. I am a public school teacher with access to thousands of addresses, phone numbers, and e-mails, and I previously managed a 70,000 person legislative district with all the personal information I could ever want at the tip of my fingers, including SSNs. If you are too paranoid to trust me, I understand and respect that, but this is the only option that ensures only tournament players can edit results without placing heavy record-keeping burdens on me.

Let me know if you think I forgot anything, or if I screwed up the Google Form.

Without further ado, quote this post to reveal the Google Form link below:

I signed up. I think. Bugged out when I submitted. But yeah, looking forward to getting slammed and jammed with my GAF bros. I really haven't been putting this community to good use.
