Who knows really. I bet that well happen to me as well but considering all the time and energy I was putting in to find Marth and other super rare ones I'll gladly pay the extra cost.

I've asked around for a Marth and a Villager (already have WFT), but no response. I just assume everone has me on their blocked list since is not the first time I ask stuff in threads or giveaway stuff and no dice. XD

I have an order for Villager/Wii Fit Trainer/Diddy Kong on Play-Asia...I really hope they'll deliver the goods because if they choke in the end I'll be really pissed.

I'm all for trading. I'm mostly concerned about getting Lucario since TRU is not a store in my area, whereas I can at least drive to a Target easily enough.

There are very little places my collection hasn't come from tbh. I love this kinda stuff been collecting for several upon several years now. Anywho on topic I'd be glad to setup an Amiibo Trading OT I just don't know if anyone would trust me here specifically to do so as I'm not sure how I could provide any credentials as I'm new to neogaf forums as poster. I'd love to set something up like this though as I think it would really help people .I got 2 TRU's near me I'll check them out close to release and buy a few spare to trade or for cost here. Well technically where I live specifically I'm 5-8mins away from a 2 Targets, A bestbuy, 2 walmarts, 2 ToysRus, with places like SpinAgains, 3 GameXchanges, and 2 gamestops. With about 4-6 of each of these stores withing a 30 mile radius... So I can keep a lookout all the way around for people LOL. Not to mention I travel by these places alot and near them at work to check at midday during lunches/breaks as well. So I'm bound to turn out with a few extras.
I'd love Rosalina but I'm in Canada lol.

This whole Amiibo thing is really frustrating. When they were first announced I was really excited, but I don't really see the fun anymore in letting the game essentially play itself, but this isn't what I want to talk about.
What really rustles my jimmies is the whole supply and demand situation. Even though I can't see myself using amiibos too often, I would fucking love to have a Captain Falcon figure, even if it's little toy like the amiibos. But no, it's literally sold out everywhere before it even goes on sale. Like, the demand is there, why make a limited supply of certain amiibos if people are willing to pay for it? Here's my money Nintendo! Take it already!
The same goes for the Gamecube controller adapter, but that's for a whole different thread. Honestly, who's dick do I need to suck to get a goddamn amiibo?

It's the Nintendo way... it's not like this is anything close to a new practice for them and people have complained about this for years its just that previously when this did happen very often it was a time when the internet wasn't as viable of a place to speak your mind about this type of thing and you didn't a place such as here at neogaf to find and seek this info or even know of a products existence unless it was in a sale's ad somewhere or a magazine. And for whatever reason Nintendo hasn't come to grips that this is a new generation of people who see this information and then really want there products I mean business practice wise let's face it. Ninty is stuck in the early 90s... Although they have been getting better pretty quickly.
So has anyone heard the slightest, teeniest tiniest, fraction of a murmur that Rosie may be going up again tonight?

They already lost so much money by letting scalpers make profit on Amiibo. I hope they fix this problem for wave 3.

For the first part I agree with you. Until I came across a video about how to teach a amiibo just one move. This video changed my whole out look on amiibo. I knew they learned from me. I just thought they just got better as time went on. But this brings a whole new light to amiibo. I'm teaching it. And I'm seeing results of my teachings. Granted I had to start over so I could establish a base for the experiment. But it's working out pretty well.
For the second part I can't help you. I'm treating it like a meta game in itself.

You can't change your profile pic on mobile gaf unless you click "disable mobile website" from the homepage. Then you can go into your control panel and whatnot to change your avatar.
Do you have a link to the video? I thought it was largely confirmed that they just have percentages for moves / "strategies" they execute in certain situations, and can still do things like taunting if you never taunt. They also of course get bonus stats to make them stronger than human players.

Also, I don't really blame Nintendo for the amiibo shortages. It seems to be a damned if you don't, damned if you do situation. The most popular figures seem to be in good supply. Meanwhile, Nintendo marked figures most people wouldn't be interested in for limited distribution. That very rarity being what actually made people care about them. Seriously, who would buy Wii Fit Trainer if she wasn't rare? Then the scalpers smelled money and descended, making everything much worse.
By the way I went to a local store (in Quebec) today and asked the guy if they had a release date for Pit and Captain Falcon. He checked on the computer and told me they were supposed to have them today but he had no clue why they didn't get the shipment yet. This is just getting weird.

You know the sad part about Rosalina? The guy selling 21 on ebay got all that money immediately and there is NO way target will ship 24 to his house, hell the people who bought six are in for a disappoint. Sad thing tbat guy can spend all that money now
I was up until 5am eastern last night working on some homework and Rosalina went live about 30 minutes after that... I can't win. I'm exhausted from my lack of sleep last night so i can't stay up tonight. If anybody wants to do me a solid and pick-up an extra if it goes live I'd greatly appreciate it.

Can't link sorry using my phone to post stuff. I just did a simple google search and it came up. "Teaching amiibo one move" I think that's what the video is called. The person who made the video took a new pikachu and played against it with him controlling anther pikachu but all he did was spam thunder. So he did this till lvl 50 and pitted the amiibo against a lvl 9 pikachu and counted how many times the amiibo used thunder compared to the normal lvl 9 ai. The result was that the amiibo used Thunder more than the ai by a huge margin.

If thunder often hits successfully, it would store that as a piece of data and use thunder more often.
Preordered Little Mac and Shulk on a whim a few weeks ago, just because I like the characters, but I started following this thread and I fear I'm now falling down the hole. Swung by TRU this morning and grabbed Luigi, then got off work and went straight to Target to see if they had anything I "needed".

I'm doing the same thing with my Samus. The results are quite interesting. Like the pikachu experiment I'm using my combos over and over and over again and to also include spaming the plasma canon from time to time. And the amiibo is slowly but surly starting to get them down pretty good.

The Pikachu's name was Thunderp. I watched that video and it was quite interesting. The amiibo do already know some basic moves but don't have a strategy. They learn from their opponents and pick up on the approaches that are most successful.

Well after the first two waves I had no issues at all getting any of the Amiibo on releaes date in my country, now... the day after they announce the actual release date... Rosalina is already unavailable to pre-order.

How is that even possible? I can't even find anyone taking preorders online yet. I heard EB was doing in store only (stupid) but by the time I heard that Rosalina was already gone. Nothing yet from Mighty Ape or JB Hifi. So strange...
I've gotten sucked into this so I'm going to drag down every innocent I can!

Was that recently? I wonder if she was available before.
The Warehouse had listings on their website but they said "not sold online" and "not sold in store"; they never appeared for sale and were later removed, though they each had their own page up. They result in 404 errors now. I haven't seen any in any store I've been to.
Mighty Ape on the other hand had the first wave up for preorder pretty early and we managed to get the whole set from them rather easily. Same with the second wave. Wave three seems absent so far though. Pretty much same with JB (and they were great for pricematching at $22).

Just today, I figured I'd wait until they had an actual date then go put in some pre-orders. Sounds like that could have been a mistake. :|
