So it is. They look a little different than I remember and the picture is a little blurry. But I can tell the Samus one is Gamestop. Pit is just angled a little differently, so couldn't see the "Members save 10%" part that gives it away.
 
Well 2+ hours of searching this morning after church and I came up almost empty handed. The only silver light for me was that I found a Lucario pre-order card at one of the Toys R Us stores I checked out. Other wise I can't find any wave 2 rares.
 
I found a Zelda at Best Buy yesterday and a Luigi at Target today. My Diddy from Amazon is shipping soon. Hopefully Amazon eventually gets Captain Falcon and GameStop actually ships my Pit. After easily finding all of Wave 1, Wave 2 has been such a mess.
 
Not too knowledgeable about this... Have US folks ordered from Amazon.de?

I read through their international shipping policies, but wanted to make sure Amiibos are shippable to the US and that there aren't any issues paying with dollars instead of euros.

I know these aren't region-locked so I assume there are no differences based on where you import from.

That was the weird thing about the Zelda I found at Best Buy. The cashier actually looked surprised to see me have one to buy. She said "I don't think I can sell this to you", then she rang it up and said "Oh, I guess I can". What the heck?

It's really frustrating. I'm almost positive they put my Little Mac on the floor instead of holding it for me when I had a pre-order. Someone mislabeled my Little Mac and put a Zelda behind the counter instead. And their release dates are just fucked.

The weird release date estimates and haphazard actual releases make this even more of a cluster
 
Think I'm going to enjoy my holiday and stay patient with Best Buy preorders. Getting my Wave 2 will give me a lot of confidence that my Wave 3 preorders will also be fulfilled. I think things will die down once the holiday is over though.
 
Huh...since the whole quality downgrade debacle I decided to pass on them entirely despite pre-ordering (and cancelling) Fox. Too expensive, not good enough quality in my eye.

So...since I visited this thread yesterday I've gone and bought a Samus and reserved a Fox and Captain Falcon. Sigh.

Not going to collect them all though, just those I really want and as long as they are good enough quality.

Tempted by Pit but may go for Palutena instead.
 
Welp I caved on the amiibo craze...Ordered me a peach despite my resisting.


Now I gotta get Mario, Luigi, Bowser, and Yoshi for the complete Mario cast...
 
GameStop.com is taking pre-orders on Shulk again. They weren't doing in-store preorders yesterday, so suggest you all jump on it now while you have the chance if you're interested.
 
I caved. Bought Link and Samus with the game and got Pit, Cap Falcon, Zelda and Diddy today.

Should I open them or just leave them packaged is my dilemma now.

I was just about to buy it then I saw that shipping to Canada is $14,99, even more than the freaking thing. =_=

And it's not available on EBgames.ca...*sigh*

Ugh, Amiibos are going to bankrupt me.

I had Shulk in my cart on gamestop.com for a few days now, was going to hold off until next paycheck just to try to reign myself in and fight the addiction, but the fear of missing out on a exclusive :(

Wave 2 is a clear improvement over wave 1 in terms of overall quality, and wave 3 is looking pretty nice, too.

It would be pretty weird to see Falco look better than Fox, though.

I shipped it to a border store 45 minutes away so I paid $3 for shipping. That's what I've been doing with all my USA Amiibo preorders.

Anything like that close to you?

Any Canadians see any of Wave 2B in the wild?

Luigi has been the only one spotted but not where I live.

I'm starting to believe it really will be after Christmas. How the hell did we end up being the last place in the world to get them? Fuuuu

Yeah, it's just a shame some of the first wave were a bit lacklustre and/or spolied by intrusive supports.

I'm really surprised these seem to be a limited run type of deal though, since it could be a big future money spinner for Nintendo. Surely they are at least going to be reproduced sometime in the future?
 
Still got 2 diddys if any gaffers need them. Wanting to trade for Captain Falcon or Pitt if possible but I'd also sell for retail as long as you can cover shipping.

They don't have to reprint for this to continue to be a money maker...if a character is popular they can do a new pose and the people who already have the character will buy it...and people who missed out the first time will buy it too...Only thing reprinting does is make the craze less crazy (which I don't think Nintendo wants)...

Once the port strike issues are resolved everything should be hitting stores at same time...doesn't mean some figures may not be impossible to find after the first shipment though (like Marth, WFT, Villager, etc)

I actually see a Wii Fit Trainer amiibo in stock using that inventory tracker from Reddit. But I'm not driving 25 miles out just to see if it's there and if I call I doubt they'd hold it for me.
