I just realised I am on annual leave Monday.
Is that the day the betastarts?re
Hyped.
Worst thing about this gen so far.
Because there is a lot of FPS that have it that are not called 'COD'And how is ADS and Sprint not oandering? It doesn't add anything to the game and actually hinders certain weapons (DMR).
I can live with it, but take weapon timers out.
It kind of makes the fighting for power weapons worse since everyone is aware of respawn timers instead of memorizing it on your own.
The sizes or the fact you have to download patches? They're probably adding in the week 2 and week 3 content with this update, plus whatever tweaks they decided after the early access ended.
That's right.Wait so if I buy a second hand copy of MCC I can play the beta?
I hope they allow us to preload the Beta (those of us who weren't in the Early Access Beta), so right on the 29th we can play.

I just got accepted into the Xbox Preview program, will MS be sending me a code on the 29th even though I don't have Halo MCC?

Yeah man, the old "you just want Halo 2 reskinned" nonsense is really tiring (and stupid) Critizicing bad changes or additions is not the same as wanting the same game over and over, and yet, you'll always find people trying to use that ridiculous argument whenever someone dares to say certain changes or aditions are bad. And saying the "CoD crowd" is a bit too reductionist, don't you think? I prefer to say they are pandering to the "modern shooter crowd" The inclusion of ADS is the most obvious example of this (which, again, wouldn't be a problem if they would at least give us the option to use the classic scopes)I'm all for them taking creative risks, but they're not being creative at all. It's just pandering to the CoD crowd while making the flow of maps suffer as well as encounter design.
LOL, sure. I've been playing Halo for 12 years, I know what I like and what I don't. There are certain things I'll never like in a Halo game, like sprint, radar, or ADS. Sprint fucks with the flow of the game, and distances Halo from its "run and gun" origins, turning it into a more "run or gun" style of shooter (and there are already way too many of those, especially on consoles) Radar has been in Halo since CE, and it's ok in campaign, but I've never liked it in the multiplayer (it leads to way too many "cat and mouse" situations, and makes stealth really boring) And as I said, I hate ADS in general, but seeing it infecting the last console FPS that still used the superior and way more elegant zoom/scope sucks even more. It's true that you don't have to play something to make an opinion on it but if you want your opinion to hold any weight you probably should.
Woooo! Glad you got it! Still need MCC though but MS said that they'll be having more beta previews for those in the Preview Program.I just got accepted into the Xbox Preview program, will MS be sending me a code on the 29th even though I don't have Halo MCC?
Anyone have a spare invite for preview access?? If that's how it works

I honestly read most of your criticism as "back in my day...". New skills take new skill sets to master. Personally, I don't want another Halo 2/3 with shinier graphics. I'm glad things are evolving.
Clamber is one of those. Sure you can get to spots easier, but if also leaves you open to enemy fire. So I don't see why its a bad addition.
Clamber just takes out skill jumping. Not everyone could make the crouch jumps consistently in previous Halo's adding to the skill gap. I didn't particularly mind clamber in the beta but it is what it is, a dumbed down game mechanic.
There's still some skill jumps that require some practice from what I've seen in videos so far.
Care to list a few of the skill jumps in previous Halos? Majority I can think of off top were pretty easy to pull off.
I need this beta. I said before that MCC sucked the halo out of me and that I had forgot about the beta, but all of the beta gameplay vids I seen has been awesome and I'm pretty pumped for the beta now.
It looks like a nice evolution of the game. Its faster paced and has much more fluid movement. I was skeptical but now I'm quite optimistic.
We cant keep the series in the past forever. Concessions had to be made to evolve the series and what they've done seems acceptable so far. I still would love to see some vehicular action, but that's not happening in the beta so I'll have to wait.
The game looks f'n fantastic tho.
God damn, 8GB update.
So is there no 4 player local online? Ugh
Well the beta is 7 maps I believe.
Armor abilities were fine, what really sucked was the way they were implemented. They should have been treated as power-ups, instead of letting you spawn with them (that was the real problem)Can't wait to play more. I really think the only people that are going to be disappointed are the irrational people that want everything to stay EXACTLY the same as it's always been. NO change. That attitude isn't healthy. Just because changes to Halo have sucked in the past (sprint in Reach, Armor Abilities in Reach, Weapon Ordinance and loadouts in Halo 4) that doesnt mean that all future changes are necessarily going to suck - especially if said changes have been well balanced and integrated into the core gameplay successfully.
Critizicing bad changes is not the same as not wanting the game to change at all. It's not that hard to understand, really...While I agree with you on this point but most of the people that are complaining about the changes are saying that they want classic scopes, crouch jumping, etc. ... it is hard to think that those people want the game to evolve when all they do is ask for the same things.
The old "you just want Halo 2 re-skinned" argument is not "a point", it is just nonsense.Yeah, my point went over your head ...

And yeah, If you like absolutely every change and addition in Halo 5, congratulations. Just don't dump everyone who critizices the changes and additions in Halo 5 into an imaginary group of irrational people who absolutely don't want any change. People can want Halo to change and evolve and still don't agree with all the changes and additions implemented in Halo 5.
My issue isn't with trying to evolve the gameplay. My issue is with the degradation of the skill gap. Clamber, automatic weapons being buffed, etc. only serve to artificially limit the skill needed to do well. The people complaining that sprint, thrusting, etc. should be removed are the ones that will never be satisfied. While I agree with you on this point but most of the people that are complaining about the changes are saying that they want classic scopes, crouch jumping, etc. ... it is hard to think that those people want the game to evolve when all they do is ask for the same things.
