But don't you have to go to the Playstation website to do that? For me at least it says that Playstation.com is under maitainence and down too so I don't think that would work either.

Great. Well, I guess it makes sense that won't be able to play anything at the moment. She got the one with a voucher to choose a game out of 4 and all my other games will be coming from whatever I got free from PS Plus.

I wonder how many more are in the same situation as me

Excuse me, but why are we ruling out simple network overload? Why should we believe that this actually carried out successful attacks?

Isn't it pretty normal for networks to get wrecked on Christmas eve/day? Couldn't some group just claim their going to conduct an attack on dates that are normally hard on networks anyway?

Its not just kids that cannot play, after working all week and until 7pm on Christmas eve I want to spend the day relaxing and playing games online. Can't do that on my PS4 or on my XB1. This is disrespectful on an entirely different level, hopefully they are caught and get to spend a few years of their lives behind bars for this foolishness.

I think he's alight even without that. The games will have the OS updates on them, but he won't be able to patch the games which could be pretty rough if he has any Ubisoft games.
 
i feel like people are giving LS to much credit. PSN was down last year on Christmas Eve and some portion of Christmas day, and I belivee the year before that Xbox and PSn had similair issues.


They chose Christmas because it's clearly th eone day in the year where most people try tp login
 
Glad I updated all the PS4 and games and then packed again the console in order to be just a plug and pay console this morning , my kid is happy , just hope online multiplayer is avaliable soon...
 
I hate when hackers mess with things that I use but I do find their ability to do so to be completely fascinating in a weird way. Like I really respect their knowledge I just think there are better things to fuck with than video game services.

Announced head of time by group, timing matches up, there is a visible attack going on seen on two ddos tracking sites, the style of attack matches up previous attacks by the same group, done on days where there was no other reason it might have happened - group has also successfully called attacks on Steam, Guild Wars 2, WoW, Aion, Lineage and other games like LoL.

So while it *might* not be them, and just the usual Christmas traffic... it could also be an attack taking advantage of an already congested system.

But unfortunately, considering how cheap and easy it is to do, for just a few luls, it's unlikely that just covering your eyes and pretending they don't exist will make them not do it in the first place. Just like how ignoring a bully doesn't do anything other than cause the bully to escalate.

I think you might be dissapointed to find out, anyone can spend 40-100 bucks to get access to the command and control account of a large botnet, and point it at something. There is no skill, or even hacking, going on. Just kids with access to tools.

Whenever I try to play any of my digital games, it won't let me. Says "Cannot use the content. Cannot connect to the server to verify the license".

My internet went out a few weeks ago and I was able to play Dragon Age no problem, what's going on here?

That the part I don't get. How is that fun or 'lul'z' inducing? Go hack into NASA and find pictures of moon bases, ufos, and aliens. Find secret documents on who actually killed JFK (and why), expose the truth on what HAARP really is, or leak secret damaging documents about greedy companies or individuals.

Completely disable your internet. I just unplugged my chord.
 
Thanks guys for the tip about signing out of PSN to play DA: I. It's under settings with the PSN icon if anybody need to know how.

Exactly. I just want to mind my own business and play some dragon age, call of duty, gta etc. these are a few days that I actually don't have to work and can play some games
