Giant Bomb GOTY 2014 - Destiny Has Brought Us Here

Did they mention 80 days for Best Story? Or do none of the Giant Bomb guys still not play any mobile games?
 
The second Vinny segment had me cracking up.

Man, Dan's segment has to be one of two things... either nothing has changed and he's just making pizza bite omelettes or he's finally gotten himself killed.
 
I love how they acknowledge that they may be missing something in not having played
Kentucky Route 0 chapter 3
. Felt like the discussion of possible oversights was glaringly absent in their Day 1 podcast.
 
As I expected, the fight for Most Disappointing Game likely came down between
Watch_Dogs
and
Destiny
.
Not too surprised that Watch_Dogs took it.
 
Brad did it! Now he will fight for
Destiny
to be at least 10 on the overall best games list.

This has already been so entertaining.

And there's the first thing I completely disagree with this year in
Broken Age being nominated for Best Story
. I really have to hear that discussion.
 
The second day isn't up on stitcher yet so I'll refrain from discussing it in-depth until it arrives. Did Destiny win most disappointing game of the year?
 
I didn't actually get to the discussion for it but Hearthstone is a terrible short time game for me. A single game can easily stretch out to 20+ minutes and it's the kind of game that penalizes you for walking away.
 
Welp. Looks like I'm eating a ketchup hotdog. Alex just mentioned Danganronpa on the podcast. He even was pretty close to pronouncing it correctly!

It was only brought up in Best Story
as a butt of a joke alongside Titanfall.
Didn't even get
a nomination, and rightfully so.

Not past the first deliberations, so I can't say where its place is on topics outside of Most Disappointing.

Still don't quite get all the talk of it getting in Top 10 GOTY list, especially to anyone who listened to the Day 1 podcast and not just watching the recaps.

Indeed.
Destiny
was a major disappointment, but since the game was shown there was a pretty good idea on how the game would turn out.

Watch Dogs
just kept getting worse and worse and worse from
the first showing that essentially sold next-gen to people in the first place. Which I feel will be the reasoning when they get to it.
 
Dan's Top 10 is up.

With
Mordor
as number 1, I have no doubts as to what will win GOTY.

You should try to talk Jeff or maybe Drew into playing the updated version for a 2015 UPF. I can't remember if Drew ever got a chance to play it. Hope you're having a good holiday season dude
