I tried this in Illinois, on PS4 I set the MTU setting to 1437
in Network > "Set Up Internet Connection"
and took a pic of the Test Internet Connection results:
I'm not sure what is or isn't actually working though, as far as PSN functionality.

They've performed up to reasonable standards and have only failed in light of a criminal attack that very few corporations could have handled. As I said, the only compensation you're entitled to is the time you lost. If that's the totality of your argument, then we're not too far off. But, to say that they're to blame is ridiculous. Almost any electrical or mechanical product you buy has an acceptable failure rate that is nearly impossible to get rid of without raising prices to levels that would render that product unobtainable by most consumers. Your argument, if applied here, would be that these products should either be given away for free because they can't guarantee service, or that they should make it totally reliable at which point you most likely wouldn't be able to afford it. That seems odd to me. But, I'm off to play some Battlefield. Enjoy the rest of your day.

I've been online for the past hour, BF4 downloaded in the background as I played GTA. Can't play GTA online but battlelog for BF4 seems to be working. Single player installed but the rest of the download is SUPER slow.

Took me a few tries but I got in eventually FWIW.
When it involves criminal activity by a third party that MS wasn't able to prevent either, yes. I ended that post with a pleasantry and got a snide response in return from a guy who apparently can't read very fast. Enjoy your petulance.

Holy shit I just tried it and I'm online signing in manually after first setting the MTU to 1437 wow thanks! How the hell does this fix work?

That don't deserve any blame for getting attacked, but I think it's perfectly fine to be critical of them. The attack ended nearly 48 hours ago and they haven't been able to get services back to an acceptable level.

Turn off the PS4 and try again. That worked for me.

Managed to buy a few games as well, although I had to use the phone app to do so.
Still can't download the games to my system but the purchase has gone trough.

I can see plenty of friends getting on on the app on my phone, so it shouldn't be too much longer hopefully.

This Anonymous account is claiming Sony let them access their servers and put their firewall on stuff, and that everything is back online now. Don't know how true it is but figured I'd post it
Obviously Sony won't allow unknown people to enter their servers, specially if they aren't a security company hired by them.

Nah, it only takes one server to run Canada. PS3 and Vita connect here in Ontario, PS4 is just doing lots of spinny white rings for any online features.
