is there any way to see the winners without going through the stupid Gamaggedon stuff ?
What.

Bayonetta 2 is the only other game that everyone seems to have played and enjoyed but I don't see it competing with Mordor.
"I'm Jeff Gerstmann, and I hate video games"
Jason's segment is absolute gold.

The lack of Wolfenstein on any of these lists makes me sad. Even all the guest contributor top 10s don't have it listed.
Maybe it'll win best 2014 game in 2015 next year
Hey guys, I'm here today with my daily query: any games spoiled too horrendously in today's podcast?

Listening to the podcast, the Best Exclusives category is even dumber than I thought.
iPad should have won.
I don't see why that's even remotely a weird opinion.I'm catching up on GotY stuff, did I hear Patrick say "Spelunky is by far one of the best games ever made," or something to that effect? That guy is a parody of himself. I love Spelunky, but come on fella!

He ran a bunch of Spelunky streams and played the game almost religiously for a short period of time.Perhaps if somebody less prone to hyperbole had said it I would be interested in their reasoning.

Man, Jeff with CoD as his GOTY?
Wish the guys enjoyed playing different games. Seems like the most of the games they all like are all pretty similar AAA games.

Alien: Isolation. A big twist is revealed.

Sounds like a super valid opinion to me.

If you actually love Spelunky, if you love and understand why that game is so good... you should be nodding your head at that part!

Kinda weird to see Mordor for best debut when that game plays exactly like every other Ass Creed or Batman game. The gameplay felt fine, yeah, but how can you fuck that same old gameplay up at this point?
Eventually they're going to realize they just keep playing the same game over and over each year. At least Jeff is probably aware he keeps playing the same shit year after year and maybe that's why he feels bored of games sometimes.

Coldman I thought you were on the good guy's team!
Spelunky is a fantastic game and I had no problem with Patrick's praise of it. Would easily be my "Best old game of the year" and is one of my favorite games of all time...AND I SUCK AT IT. I still play it nearly every day at least once.
I disagree with him on the exact point - it's not a GOAT. But it's easily one of the best games of the last generation.
That's far too even handed for my temperament.
Alright guys, ya got me. Spelunky is better than Tetris and Ocarina of Time and Super Mario World and Goonies 2.
Oh, sorry, my tone was off.
*ahem*
FUCK YOU IT'S THE BEST YOU'RE A PECKER
