Resident Evil HD Remaster confirmed for PS3/PS4/360/XB1/PC

Replaying the PSone classic as I'm gearing up for the remaster release. I love, and miss, classic RE so much.

Budget and time issue? They seemed to find time to get the PC version running at 60fps. Which is odd considering a lot of developers still seem to have the mentality of "we'll worry about the PC version last. It's not a priority"

Not saying you're wrong, but, I do feel the hardware could have played some factor.

Budget and time is surely a factor, devs can't just brute force better performance out of the consoles like they could on the PC. However I find it hard to believe that the new consoles couldn't handle the game at 60fps if given a proper budget and schedule. It's not like the game has a bunch of advanced systems requiring heavy calculations to run on the CPU. It's a $20 remaster, so it's not surprising how it turned out IMO.

Framerate definitely dipped on camera swiitches in GC version and they were far more noticeable there.

That's what I thought, it's been so long since I played it, so I wasn't sure. I don't even think it's fair to consider them to be typical frame drops since it's due to the brief pause that occurs during the transitions.

Any sites to grab the Biohazard PS3 Limited Edition? AmiAmi is still sold out and it isn't even up on Play-Asia anymore when now I want to grab it..

To anyone who's preordering on steam and getting the digital goodies, any chance you'd share 'em?

Sucks that they aren't offering either to console goers.

Does the PC version support resolution higher than 1080p? I've been googling and can't seem to find the answer.

A little PSA to people playing REmaster for the first time. You get this difficulty selection screen when you first start the game:

You might think you're choosing between easy, normal, and hard. But it actually corresponds to very easy, easy, and normal. Very easy is new to this version of the game, and as it implies, it's really easy. Hard is unlocked by beating the game once.

I've seen some people get confused by the screen, thinking they chose normal when they actually chose easy.

Y'know a lot of people's pet peeves with RE4 is that Professional isn't unlocked from the start, when they'd prefer to start on that after buying a new version.

I really hope someone patches in an option to select Hard or even Real Survivor from the get-go here, too.

So basically...

I. Normal
II. Easy
III. Very Easy

It'd be awesome if Very Easy got rid of Crimson Heads. The presence of those fuckers ruined every attempt I made to play through the game on GC/Wii. Kept forgetting what rooms had one because I'd put the game down for a week or two between sessions.

It looks like if you buy the game from GMG.com and opt for the VIP price, you don't get the pre-order content on Steam.

Unless capcom sends them two different batches of keys. You should still get it. A lot of times you'll end up with preorder goods even if the page didn't say since they just send them one batch of keys.
This has happened as well for people who buy it later on.

We'll see. Just bought it. 😊

uh, why must they do this crap, can't I just choose a difficulty.

Man I really hope this sell well. I want capcom to realize that 4-6 was a tps and not a true resident evil game. I want capcom to go back to this formula again. Here's hoping for a 0,2,3 and cvx remake. Let's accomplish what you set out to do 13 years ago capcom. Let's remake 2,3 and cvx like it was originally planned. But I guess that's a dream that will never become a reality :(.

I didn't forget capcom. Let's make this plan happen now that you got Sony backing.

Oh Man, I am loving the ever loving fuck out of this game.

I finished my playthrough of Jill on Very very easy the other day and decided that I didnt have enough. Im already 80% done on Chris's story on Hard mode.

Hard mode is how this game was meant to be played, I havent had this much fun getting my asshole eaten in at least a year!

This game needs to come out as soon as possible. How difficult is it to get a Platinum trophy

Imo the only really difficult trophy is the knife only trophy, but I think you can even get that on Very Easy, so it might not actually be that difficult after all.

Then there's the "Every nook and cranny" trophy, it says you have to visit every room on the map but that's not enough, you have to pick up every single item as well. Not exactly difficult but very tedious.

Are there any good pre-order sales on this game for PC? I'm super excited for this game but obviously would love to snag it at a reduced price.

I really dislike weird descriptions like these that don't make the standard difficulty selection very clear. Then again, the "normal" setting for most games nowadays seems to be too easy anyways, at least for my personal taste.

Anyone have noticed pre load is available for PS4?
Why the file size is only 3+ GB? what's the point with preloading if i need to download most of the game on release date anyway?

And how can i get the theme for pre ordering the game?

The game was released on GameCube in 2002. I wouldn't be surprised if it's only 3 GB in size.

At least the question itself is a bit clearer than it was in the original remake.

Call me crazy but when I first played the game I wasn't sure if Mountain Climbing was the harder option or in fact the easier as in "Oh, video games are difficult to you? Then we'll make it nice and easy for you".

In the end I made the correct choice but still, a bit misleading.

I don't remember anything about the Gamecube version of the game except that it was gorgeous and I loved it. Played the PS1 version so much that it's the one stuck in my head. Really looking forward to playing this remaster

That's strange. Mine is 15gb, downloading right now. Why is the pre-load so early? I thought it was meant to be on the 18th?
