Musk has said in the past that the Model 3 would cost $35,000, but tonight he clarified that figure doesn't include any state or federal tax incentives.

Just the Feds will give you $7,500 for going electric, which puts the real sticker price of the Bolt at $37,500. And if Tesla used the same math GM is promoting, that would mean the Model 3 would come in at $28,500 after current incentives.

$28,500

Sounds really affordable for an electric car. I am definitely going to have one of these once I am capable of buying it.

That's only slightly more than what I paid for my car last year. As the technology matures, the cost/benefit analysis will greatly favor electric.

I'm definitely interested in this, as long as it doesn't end up looking like the Chevy Bolt.

Chevy Bolt seems to be trying to imitate the BMW i3 for some reason. Both cars are hideous IMO

Elon Musk seems to understand what car buyers are looking for in a car, I have faith that it'll look sleek. I'm expecting a smaller Model S myself as to how the Model 3 is going to look.

eww

God damn YES. Please be gorgeous!

it needs to look like a sedan and not a weird hatchback for me to buy it.

Show me this sexy, sexy car, Musk.

Pretty much this. Going by Tesla's track record (only three[?] cars so far, I know) and my faith in Musk's design sensibilities, I'm optimistic/confident it will be a looker.

Bolt looks like a $10,000 car but with electric. Surprised a huge company like GM that will sell a decent amount of those can't get it lower than $37k.

I'm really happy how things are progressing here.

While I have a relatively new car (3 years old) and love it ... I now have a ton of faith in where Electric/Hybrids will be once I'm looking again. I was originally hoping to get a Leaf previously (even put down the $100 to hold me one), but it wasn't ready for sale by the time I needed to replace my aging Maxima (10+ years of Buffalo NY winters does wonders). Had to buy in short order.

Definitely, I don't understand why they couldn't go for a Sedan look. Or at the very least, not have such an unorthodox look. Most of the people I talked to about the car tend to attack the design before anything else.
