Amiibo Discussion Thread 2: I Got 99 Pre-orders But A Rosalina Ain't One

I'm guessing any orders made after a certain period of time got canceled because they figured they wouldn't get that many. In any case, we've still got 2 weeks to see if they actually fulfill the orders that didn't get canceled the day or so after they were placed.

Sure, I'm cool with that. I can't claim to know what it's like to go through cancer, but I can relate to having the things that had once made me whole taken away, either through forces that are beyond me or otherwise.

I'm going to work on moving over our google Doc to Trello. Supposedly it's much nicer, and you can use it with a gmail account. I'm not saying 100% we will move it over. Butt I'll work on it all day today, try to make it look nice, and then let you guys know if it's something we will be using insttead.

Well, I'll probably get your feedback first. But yeah. That's my goal for today. To work on The google doc/ possible over haul it and use Trello. If there was anything you needed though, please PM me again.

Anyone that I promised an Amiibo to, I was always going to send them to you. Even if...I ever walked away. I would always make sure everyone got what was promised. So anyone that I promised a free amiibo to (whether that's now, or Feb), you will still get them. Of course, I'm staying now. BUT...yeah. You are good.



I think Shulk in Japan/EU was pushed to Feb 20th. Him being out on the 1st, is only in NA. Or am I wrong? I ordered all of Wave 3's exclusive from Nin-nin games 2 weeks ago (including Shulk). Nothing has been shipped yet.

So essentially they cancelled the items on you but instead of giving a refund are asking that you buy something else from them? I haven't gotten any additional emails like that yet after my order confirmation so here's hoping. If they do cancel on me I might consider getting some of the Wave 3 commons through them since I didn't bother putting in preorders for them.

FYI, those in bold are announced in Wave 4, if you missed it. :)

Azula, I'm 33 and living together with my girlfriend. For now I have all 18 and I intend going for the full set. My girlfriend doesn't mind I collect them, she's knows I'm kind of a geek anyway, and she still loves me. :) So we'll see how far we'll get.

...oh well... tried my BEST when packing to keep the little mac box mint... no deal... plastic cover was dislodged from the paper part...

I never bothered with the B&H thing, it seemed like such an extreme long shot. I do hope that some of you get orders fulfilled, just might take until nintendo making official restocks that they do,

Yes, I have hope that things will turn around. I mean, they already have. I'm in a much better place than I was a month ago. Each week, seems to get better and better actually. IRL, I'm doing really well (sometimes it's hard to tell that by my posts).

I owe that, largely to GAF and this specific community. You guys are my friends. My family. I can't really put into words, what this community means to me. But I promise, every day I'm getting better. And working so hard. And I also believe that, some day I'll be just as happy as I was before my cancer, even if it means being a different person, or living a new life.
 
On my end, the B&H orders are still showing as back-ordered, with no shipping estimates available. I ordered Little Mac and Mega Man, for the record. Not too hopeful for either -- I figure I'll try to secure them by other means, with B&H as an unlikely backup plan.

All of Wave 4's pre-order pages were posted 3 days ago on Newegg. But yeah, just auto notify and coming soon.
 
I found this image on the Amiibo Reddit, and I think the upcoming Wave 3 figurines are more consistent in quality that the past two waves of Smash Bros Amiibo's. I'm glad that King Dedede & Meta Knight will arrive at my place soon.

I think the easiest way to go about these next waves is to set up alerts for Amazon and GameStop on NowInStock and try not to worry about it. GameStop ship-to-home seems to be the most reliable, and Amazon is a good backup.

man, i just went into my local walmart to see what amiibos they had and it was a complete wasteland except for 3 pikachus, oh boy
 
Whoa whoa, If I'm not getting my B&H order (which I never really expected anyways) I fully expect a refund. I bought specific items, not "something else on our store."

This is going to be a fun argument with Customer Service once I get cancellation emails. >_>
 
Jealous of you guys that are getting Wave 3 early. So far I have...

* All of Wave 3 pre-ordered from Gamestop.com BUT...sett to pick up in store =/

* None of the 4 exclusives pre-ordered (US versions).

* Nin-nin games order of the 4 exclusives (Japanese versions) -- but no idea if the order will be filled or what. Never used them before.

So basically, I'll go to all the stores on Feb 1st. Hope gamestop has all my pre-orders (i'll print out my order and show up first before anyone else). I will also hit up Target first thing that morning to get Rosalina first (I hope).

My hope is that, the Nin-nin games order is legit. And so if I don't get the 4 exclusives on Feb 1st, I'll be able to get all the regular Wave 3's in store, then wait for the Japanese version of the exclusives to eventually get sent to me.

I'm kind of iffy on all this. Meaning, no idea if Gamestop will even get all of my pre-orders in (as I used their website and set to in store pick up). So I can imagine me going on the 1st, and not being able to get like 4-5 amiibos. Then scrambling to figure out how to get them.

That's not even talking about the exclusives. Going to be a mess. I wish I had pre-ordered all of these from a legit site. Those getting them before Feb 1st will have zero stress. I envy ya'll.

Yeahhhh

I fucked up by not having my pre-order shipped to home. By doing ship to store, I fully expect my local GS to not get all my Wave 3 shit in. Going to be real fun. I made a major mistake by selecting in store pick up. =/

In my head I figured, I would rather skip shipping fees, and actually get the Amiibos on Day 1 on Feb 1st (not having to wait). But now I realize, I'm more likely to get a store that doesn't have enough Amiibos to fill my order. And it's going to be a mess trying to get them to fill it.

I really don't even know what I'm doing anymore with Wave 3. It's strange like, going into this blind. Because while I technically have 11 pre-ordered, I really don't. I'm basically going into Feb 1st, hoping I can get one of each. Pretty crazy shit.

As far as exclusives go, fuck.

Can someone link me to the instock now site, and where I go to set up alerts? I guess I'll do that now.

She's out earlier in Japan/EU I guess. Some places are already shipping her out.
 
Azula/others (?), I don't get it. You have mentioned before you have no money problem and you're opening your Amiboos anyway, so just get the EU version.
For example, if you're ok with paying for shipping from Italy, I can get you Rosalina and all of the wave 3 (Sonic, Mega Man, King Dedede, Shulk, Meta Knight). Each figure on wave3 is €15.99 (they're 1€ over retail price but at least they have them).
Rosalina (and Pit if you need him too) are €14.99 but we've gotta pay 5€ for shipping (it's from a different retailer)
I'm just mentioning it cause I wish someone offered me help last couple of days when I was super disappointed AMAZON.it cancelled all of my wave3 preorders and was a tad panicking over having missed Mega-Man forever.

I mean, no reason to stress over it if you're ok with spending just a bit more what you'd pay in US.
In case, send me a pm and we can arrange it.


Of course this offer stands for other gaffers as well, as long as you feel comfortable PayPal-ing me the money to do the purchase I'll take the time and care to find them and ship them to you in a reasonable timeframe (what I mean is that if you have problems waiting a couple of days from release date then maybe this ain't for you).
