Playstation TV Thread: Vita Who?

I wish an up-to-date compatibility list existed.

Yeah, it's a bit frustrating when you can't even seem to rely on the company who makes the damn thing to offer accurate information on what works for the PSTV. I was under the impression that Soul Sacrifice didn't work on the PSTV, because it's not listed anywhere, but I've been told by several people that it does. Same with Atelier Rorona Plus. What the hell?

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re; Birth 2 is about to release in about 2 weeks and they can't be bothered to make #1 work on the PSTV despite the fact that there is no actual restriction as far as I can tell!

Frustrating.

eh if it gives you any consolidation, re;birth 2 looks great on a large screen. very "crisp"

So I just got one for Christmas

Im connected between two rooms on one router, seem to still be having connection issues. Should "connect directly" be on or off?

I think the Wikipedia Vita game list is probably the most up-to-date list I've seen in terms of compatibility.

Was going to pick one of these up today for Ratchet and Clank Trilogy and Sly Cooper Collection. But this list just saved me from wasting my money.

What an utterly half-assed device. No wonder I found them in a bargain bin at my local supermarket.

I had no idea PDf was compatible, only in Asia of course. Scratching with the touchpad would piss me considerably less.

All this circus around whitelisting, meanwhile if I remote play using a DS3 most games will be straight up unplayable and there's not even a warning. I wish they'd do the same and just let us boot everything on TV and figure out if it's playable enough ourselves.

I got my PSTV in day one and I do love it. But I'm a bit sick that the games I want to play don't work, like YS.
I'm trading it away and I'm getting a Vita instead at a later date. I do like it, but the support for it for a bit older titles are atrocious... :/

2 weeks ago I was in the shop and taking PS tv, Killzone and Jak & Daxter. However - don't know why - I checked compatibility list. Of course Jak isn't compatibly. I thought: so I'll take Sly trilogy, but once again failure. I was so fuc...angry on this stuff and decided to take Vita in bundle with Invizimals and 8gb memory card. Now I can play and buy everything without fear.
Change politics with PS tv Sony, because you're killing brilliant thing.

I really want to play Lumines... But apparently I'm STILL not allowed to. -__- Seriously, why aren't they at the very least releasing statements about games like that, which work just fine in one region but not in others? It seems really unfair.

Because Sony for some reason only cares about the Vita in Japan and doesn't even try in other regions

So does the PS store and the actual system have a different white list? After my brief struggles with wanting to play Atelier Rorona it's kind of ridiculous that the store will tell you a game that runs fine on the system "is not compatible". Is there any way to get ahold of Sony and tell them to fix this?

The store seems poorly managed. I could not even find Suikoden in any of the alphabetical lists, despite the fact that it can be found by doing a search.

Yep. Akiba's Strip EU appeared as ps tv compatible in the PS store when its not while it didnt appear on the official white list.

Now I'm 18€ poorer with a game that doesnt work with this... machine :(

You really should contact Sony support about that I'm fairly certain that would warrant a refund under European law.

Edit

I don't know if this trick works for EU, but in NA you have to refresh the LiveArea for Akiba's Trip for it to recognize that it's on the whitelist.

This too go to the live area and click the spinning circle icon.

Thanks for the support guys but I guess I'll try my luck :| saw this in psn EU forums, told to another user that got the same problem from the NISA team...

This title should be compatible with Playstation TV as advertised. However,
it seems that other users are having this issue as well.

We will contact Sony and the appropriate parties regarding this issue and
should hopefully have a solution for this problem soon.

I've got that hope. However, 2 weeks have passed since then. Urgh.

Tried that trick with many games this one included, but never worked for me >_<

PlayAsia lists the Asia region Vita TV in white for $59.99 by itself or $96.99 bundled with a controller and memory card. Is now the best time to buy if I want the white version to match my PS4?

Also, does anyone know how long it's been listed for this price at PlayAsia? If it is semi-permanent I might want to wait for the next paycheck.

The more I play Soul Sacrifice Delta the more I am impressed. While I doubt I would have played it much on my Vita the control and feel of playing it with my Dualshock 4 is amazingly comfortable. Visually it is wowing the hell out of me. Some of the bosses are simply awe-inspiring and feel right at home on the big screen. Still my favorite Vita/PS TV exclusive.

It varies, the value edition (DS3+MC) was *a bit* cheaper around december. Maybe soon it will be cheaper again.

This should be in the OP at least a screenshot of it.

Ugh I'd rather not, lets keep it discrete. Besides I want to think the official list some day will be 100% accurate.

Cool. Should I be worried that PlayAsia will increase the price of the Asia region unit back to $199.99 in the near future?

It may increase, but seems they put the low prices often. In fact those cheap december ones were sold out rather quick, it raised to the 'normal' price, and now they have had many units cheap again.

I have the game and it's amazing, the port is flawless.

It's a great port, especially considering that it was a launch title. What's missing are almost all of the background animations and a lot of the special move effects are low res, which would be more noticeable on a TV. The game is also only playable online against other Vita users, so expect a very low population.

Do I have to connect my DualShock 4 to my PS TV everytime I want to boot it up? I'm pressing the home button on the DS4 and my PS TV isn't turning on :\

Also, how do you press the notification bubble on the top right.

Edit: Also I need an HDMI switch or something since I'm out of HDMI ports. Anyone have any suggestions?

you don't have to resync (unless you've synced it to a ps4 or something since you last used in on pstv), but the ps button won't power on the console unless it's in standby. no cold boot from the controller unfortunately.

the bubble can be accessed but simply pressing up and right on the d-pad until it is highlighted, then press x to access it
