Still need to decide how/when to propose. I'm taking her to Japan in Feb. She's half Japanese and so her family is from Kyoto. She has never been to Japan though, as her family has been a bunch of generations in America. So she's far removed from that. I know Japan like the back of my hand. Might just find the perfect place in Kyoto.
I hate hate people that propose in front of crowds though (putting them on the spot). I would never do that. So, of course..I have to think abut what she would like. Again, not dense. I'll think about it and make sure I don't make a fool out of myself.

Being life-long friends is the best I think. That's how my parents are and they're going on 25 years. It's something special to have that kind of relationship. So happy for you!lol, well congrats me after she says yes.
I'm not worried about it though. We've been friends since we were 4 years old. We are beyond close (after school, we would always walk home together and she would hang out in my room). She actually had a crush on my since we were little kids, and never told me till we were older that she wanted to date me the entire time.
I think because we are long time friends, it works perfectly. Because we know who each other is (really is), and we already have an idea of how it is to live together. We've been joined at the hip anyways for most of my life. So it just makes sense (and she keeps hinting at wanting to get married).
So I'm not being clueless or doing this on a whim. I have a pretty good success rate.
