Looks like Nintendo UK store is adding a 1 per customer label to various Amiibo... Surprised Wario and Charizard pre-orders are still in stock tbh
 
Just doing my civic duty. I'd never seen a scalper in action, but wow...five of them. I even asked if any were left in the back, and he said, "Uh...nope." So I was slightly upset then, hence why I dropped the line to the manager.

But I guess this whole episode actually taught me a lesson, one that's painful for a 33 year-old...I don't need all of this stuff like I thought I "needed" it. I have all of wave 1 & 2, and there were four I didn't even want (Marth, Captain Falcon, Pikachu, and Diddy Kong).

I've spent close to $300 on this stuff in less than two months, which is money my wife and I really don't have to spend. We're both full-time in school (me for my Masters, her for her Doctorate), we have a two year-old and I'm the only one working full-time. We're also dealing with a lot of medical bills (most of which should be reimbursed via a settlement, but it's still money we have to pay now). I'd rather spend that money spoiling my daughter.

So I'm stepping back and only getting the ones I know that I want from here on out. I have three I want on pre-order (Sheik, Ike, Mega Man) and am looking to get Bowser (he won't be rare, so no hurry), Sonic (may not be rare), King Dedede, Meta Knight, and Rosalina & Luma. I'm getting Shulk in a trade, but I'd be willing to trade him for one of the other exclusives.

Also, my Marth and Captain Falcon are on the trading block (both are opened, only Marth has actually been used in Smash). So are Pikachu and Diddy (both opened, I'd trade both for one of the "commons" of Wave 3).
 
Sonic is up on Frys for purchase and shipping. I can add to cart and checkout but after paying it redirects me back to the cart with no error and no order confirmation. Tried several times but no luck.
 
Just walk out of Gamestop and was able to preorder Zelda Majora's Mask edition 3ds. Apparently they opened up some more pre orders so if you want it, go into store and do it as soon as possible.
 
Going to swing by TRU when I get off work today at noon. I pre-ordered all non exclusives (and shulk) from Gamestop, but if I can actually select the one I want from multiples I'd much prefer it. So it's basically just going to be Bowser, Toon Link, and Shiek, right?

Bolded those parts because I'm in the same position. My wife is out of school now, though, and she works FT. So we have 2 incomes coming in. Money isn't as much of an issue for me, but the sentiment behind it is the same. I don't need all of them, so I'm only collecting the ones I want the most going forward. All thing in moderation.
 
Gotta love the Europe + TRU combo, they have everything there, like 5 WFT and at least 3 Marths. I got my Rosalina easily without preorder or anything.
 
So I preordered Toon Link, Mega Man & Sheik from Amazon, as well as Lucario from TRU. When should I expect these? Only TRU has any on floor?
 
I'm signed up for nowinstock.net and Google Alerts, but I still don't feel confident...what other ways would I be 100% guaranteed to find out about US Wave 4 pre-orders the SECOND they go up?

Too bad we can't create a text notification for just us here.

Cool. I'm the only one working full-time right now...my wife gets a stipend from the University of Alabama, but it's not as much as she used to make (probably about half) plus she commutes to and from Tuscaloosa three days per week (about 45-50 miles).

I completely understand dude. It can be a challenge to deny yourself something that you're convinced you "need". Amiibos are very nice products. They're small, inexpensive, and very good quality. Put a dose of nostalgia in there and you've got something that's very tempting and difficult to resist. Take me for example, I haven't owned a Nintendo system since 2004 and I have 12 amiibos right now. Fresh out of college, single, working a part time job that I'm growing to hate, and I've blown almost $200 on something that I wanted but didn't need. All that to say, there's nothing wrong with having amiibos or wanting them but they definitely have an allure about them that one can easily succumb to. I've stepped back from this thread because of that. I still want to get the rest of the characters that I like and still plan on doing that but it's definitely time for me to be a little more financially responsible until I get an income that's more flexible. That said, thanks for snitching that guy and best of luck to you and your family.

says that for mine as well. I have other stuff preordered in feb and march, but those have estimated dates for them. Nintendo really needs to get their shit together, this is pathetic.

I just canceled 4 preorders at gamestop and will be out of this after I get Lucario for my brother and Bowser.

At my store I got 2 full case Bowser, full case Toon Link and about 8 Shiek figures.

You a re-seller? I love my fellow "re-sellers." So if so, they are everywhere except not at Toys R Us. You can and buy them all up so people think they are rare. Then the prices will go up. Happy hunting!

I only called TRU, but they're not usually as strict with street dates as Target; a week before Amiibos launched at my local Target, I saw an employee that accidentally pulled them from the back, and I asked for them, he said they were street dated, and sure enough, ringing them up wasn't possible yet.

I can say my local tampa, FL TRU has plenty of Sheik, Bowser, and Toon Link though, I was assured there would be plenty, as they had more in the back. She said Lucario could not be sold yet, however.

I'm just thankful every time amazon even ships in a box. I've had $100+ bluray box sets shipped in shitty bubble wrap and damaged. Everything uses those god awful flimsy eco cases too.

Hehe, thanks. I'm not a reseller, just a collector. Sounds encouraging for wave 2 though. Hopefully this time around everything is common. I'm still tempted to shop around in hopes of a lucky Pit or Falcon... but I'm pretty sure it's hopeless by now.

Sob. It's the only one I got like that and I keep them sealed, I love the boxes. This has totally spoiled my enjoyment in getting Ike and upping my collection, knowing I can't replace it.
Fucking hell.

My buddy at TRU here in St. Louis says Bowser, Toon Link and Sheik are in, but Sheik in horribly short supply. Heading there soon, pumped!

Hmm, I hope this is also the case with the online orders. I ordered back in mid-November and already had my order canceled once "by mistake". How have toyrus.com orders for amiibos in the past been handled? Do they usually go out on release date or backordered?

Some TRU's were putting out Falcons yesterday too so you might want to call.

In other TRU news I just received my TRU rewards for $10! Woot! Hopefully I can use that on an in-store Lucario

Has anyone who got a $15 off code from TRU (for cancellations) been able to use the code in store? The e-mail says you can, but do you just give the cashier the code? It's like 20 digits.
