Amiibo Discussion Thread 2: I Got 99 Pre-orders But A Rosalina Ain't One

I plan to only get amiibos for the characters that I like.

So far I own Link and Pit.

I ordered Sonic.

I would like to have the following:
- Toon Link
- Rosalina
- Lucario
- Pikachu
- Charizard

Amazon just updated my estimated shipping for my Bowser amiibo. Cool. March 2nd... Well, here's hoping my trip to TRU is fruitful. I don't want to wait a whole month after everyone else has him.

Yes we did. I remember because people were having a hard time finding them that first week. And that was all stores, not only toys r us. I bought them right away based on people's fears. But yeah Diddy too

need them wave 4 smash ones yo. also anyone live somewhere where they restocked the legendary marth? if so, do me a solid and get me one yo, I'll pay you of course. if trust is an issue I got someone on steamgaf who can vouch for credibility. :D
 
I decided to scope out a TRU that I hadn't been to since last Memorial Day (the Crystal Lake, IL store) and was surprised to find out that the store was going out of business and closing in just 3 days!
It was down to one tiny section of merchandise but everything was 75% off and I got a handful of decent guides & games so it wasn't a total waste of a trip. :)

I'm really only looking for Lucario at TRU though - I have 2 pre-ordered online but considering they already cancelled the orders once I'm worried they might not come through in the end. :S

Sonic took a while to sold out, I ordered mine 2 hours ago. I'll say is going to be common.

Let me know if Sheik comes on, I really want one since I don't thrust BB.
 
Are there any amiibo alert Twitter accounts you guys follow? I'm gonna have to be on top of these pre-orders. Wario64 isn't quick enough. Lol
 
Apparently Best Buy is cancelling more of the MM n3DS XL's, better check your order to see if its still active. Even people who only ordered one.
 
Found 6 Bowser, no Lucario. Will be heading over to my cousin's soon to play. He had found Rosie the same place as captain when it released so I'm gonna head to a diff target tomorrow.

I mean it's possible he's messing with me, but he did send a pic of both. Waiting for him at TRU
 
Went by TRU tonight. Sheik already gone, but they had 3 or 4 Toon Link, and 6 Bowser. Grabbed a yellow Pikmin plush as an extra. <.< Didn't even see a peg for Lucario yet, unlike Marth, Villager, Falcon, and Little Mac.

TL and Bowser look great. Bowser has noticeable seams at parts, of course, but overall looks really detailed and believable. Toon Link's art style is just a great fit for this style of figure.

I haven't been in years but I've seen stuff like the acryillic spheres and such at TAP Plastics in SF. Seems like the best place to get pillars like those.
 
I've never played Xenoblade before - waiting for the 3D release - yet Shulk is the amiibo I'm most excited for lol. Great character design.

I've got a question about that as well. She IS going to be in stores, right? The only three announced ones that I really, really want are her, Ness, and Charizard.

I've wanted them to make a mlb game for years. The license has always been open for it and they own a team.
 
Anyone see any Wave 3 at the Nintendo World Store yet?

I'm too lazy to go amiibo hunting anymore. I got my pre-orders for wave 3 in at Best-Buy.com ship to home (Toon Link, King DeDeDe, Meta-knight), Target (Rosalina), Gamestop.com ship to home (Bowser, Sonic, Sheik, Ike, Shulk, Megaman), and Toys R Us.com ship to home (Lucario, Sonic, Sheik, Ike, Megaman).

I should be good, but yet, I am still worried, LOL :-)

It's a great game. I will be double dipping for the 3DS release. Shulk amiibo is also my most wanted at the moment (along with Robin and Lucina).
 
So I accidentally canceled my Game.co.uk order of the Mario Bros set, Ness and Pacman. I can't re-order Ness or Pacman so I'm in a bit of a shitter. I've emailed them to cancel my cancellation but we'll see.

Called up some TRU stores and finally found one with new Amiibos. He checked and said they had one Sheik, Link and Bowser. I asked if he would hold them cause it was a long drive and he helped me out.

So after I show up talking to them and seems some guy showed up at opening and tried to buy the whole box of Sheiks and they refused to sell it to him, kept new Amiibos behind the counter and limited 1 each of customers.

She told me that it's not fair for someone to buy the whole box and resell them while kids and fans can't get them at regular price. Much props to this amazing store and keeping it fair!! I'm going to write corporate an email to commend them.
 
Managed to get a hold of Sheik at TRU today! It was apparently the only Wave 3 Amiibo in the store at the time and the associate was very helpful in retrieving it for me, so I really lucked out. The figure itself looks great!
