Amiibo Discussion Thread 2: I Got 99 Pre-orders But A Rosalina Ain't One

Yep, i dont think by now any store in Spain has it.
I only saw it the first release date for amiibos, and never again, a pity becuase I didnt thnk t would be hard to find and now here i am, with no Kirby.

Little Mac is the same thing for Wave 2.
Same here in France, Kirby is awfully rare wherever I went, I've only seen one (I luckily bought) on launch day. I managed to buy all others, Rosalina excepted, in stores, so I visited a LOT of shops...

Also some scalper is having a great time in the Fnac in my city, he goes every release date just as the store opens and gets every amiibo form that wave and its repeats. Im thinking of doing the same for wave 3.5 and buy the first fucking his master plan.
You're lucky, in a sense... my FNAC don't even sell Amiibos anymore in store (and it's a french chain...) And they were the ones that dumped my Rosalina preorder. When I asked them why the item X is written 'in stock' (not necessarily Amiibos, just anthing limited), they replied 'it's in our supplier catalog'. Man, that's not what 'in stock' means...

Sorry for the long post but I have never seen a job posting directly reflecting what is so badly needed at a company. I was on NOA jobs and they actually have a listing for a "Business Analyst, Demand & Analysis (1500000004)"

Here is the summary and I agree they need this dude. I am going to apply to be this dude for real. Finishing up my International Business degree here in a few months ha

That's funny. I have a lot of those skills in my current job. Also, I'm in the middle of a Master's program that would provide even more of a match. Too bad I don't live anywhere near a Nintendo office.

Collection status. Hoping to add Little Mac at some point. And ready for Charizard and Wario.

I've hit a rather heavy amiibo burn out as of the last 2 days. After discovering the plight that the Super Mario bros series amiibos will be exclusive for a limited time (prompting another battle to get even one), I've just hit an absolute burn out.
I honestly don't knwo what I'm going to do with my spare Amiibos, and really, what am I gonna do with a 2nd Zelda, 2nd and 3rd Ike, 2nd and 3rd Megaman? etc.

Really the only characters I should double up on are Characters I care about/play. Falco, Wario, Sonic, Game n Watch, Toon Link, etc.

I'm still going to collect but at a moderate and reasonable rate. Last night I picked up a Pikachu, an Amiibo I REALLY wanted but was holding out on for a sale, because I've already spent so much on characters I don't truly care about, and it felt nice, no hassle, no bugging employees to check stock.

I'm still going to be on the look out for Villager, because eventually I DO want a complete set, but I'm not going to stress out my wallet anymore.

Lol.

They need this badly, killing my enthusiasm for their entire company.

So French Fnacs are doing what GAME stores here do? Horrible system.

I also visit the majority of stores around my city. Have you tried any Carrefours or Mediamarkts around you? Ive been having most of the luck in those. Obviously you being from France will have various Carrefours to try but I dont know if you have Media Markts as those are a German chain.
I really really hope what the Media Markt guy said about receiving amiibos next week is true and they call me, I preodered there Toon Link and Rosalina, as the guy said they were getting 4 of each.
Still going to look today with my girlfriend the rest of the carrefours, Auchamps and MediaMarkts where I didnt look yesterday, to see if theres any luck.

This is probably worthy of its own thread, and I don't know if it was already discussed in here. Saw it on GoNintendo.com.

Amazon said:
“For a limited time, the [MP 10 bundle is the] only way to play with the Mario Party Mario amiibo included!”

The Mario Amiibo in the Super Mario Bros. line will be a timed exclusive to the Mario Party 10 Bundle.

I missed that news, which Super Mario Amiibos are exclusive to what retailer?

I pre-ordered all my Amiibos with Amazon (except the store exclusives). Got all of wave 1 fine. Was able to find all of Wave 2 in stores before Amazon could get me those. Just got an email about Bowser saying it will be delivered on March 2. No updates on any of the others. Have a feeling I will be hunting in stores again.

I'm so glad I was able to just walk into a store and pick up Rosalina, Ike and Sheik without any problems whatsoever. Being European really pays off in regards to Amiibo... I couldn't deal with the shit some of you need to go through.

Damn. So, the Nintendo UK Store already sold out of pre-orders for the newest Amiibo's? I guess some bumhole went and bought a whole load of them, because usually they've been available for some time.

Edit - or maybe not, since it seems to be one per customer. Wow, they must of got a minuscule allocation.

Well, it says they're limited to one per customer.

I did manage to get in on Wario and Charizard though. Fingers crossed they'll open preorders again soon. Need dat Ness.

Im intested as NA sales seem to be going up to see if supply gets shortened elsewhere now. Thats an idea I've been reading around anyway...

We're really not big on Nintendo in the UK, so it's very likely our shipments will probably be reduced and stock allocated elsewhere. I was still seeing plenty of rareish ones in shops.

Oh well, I really wanted Ness, and will hopefully still be able to get, but at least I have the complete Mother 2 Gashapon set!

The Mario Party 10 + Mario Amiibo must not be "limited edition" because it's still available everywhere (at least in Canada). It's still on EB Games, Amazon.ca, Walmart, Futureshop, Best Buy, etc.

As far as we know at this point, yes.

I don't know that the bundle is limited edition at the moment per se, but apparently the article is saying (I think) that it's the only way to get the SMB Mario Amiibo in NA at the moment.

Bear in mind that Amazon preorders haven't gone up yet.

Get refreshin'...

I'm kinda impressed by myself that I managed to leave my Amiibo's in their packaging for so long. Villager has been staring at me since early december I think.

That's stupid and not really honest...

No Mediamarkt here...

(edit: keep in mind that the following is a *local* report of situation, I guess it's probably very different in a town only 100km away)

FNAC and Leclerc (supermarket) are not resupplying anymore, it seems. Not sure about Carrefour, but I only found commons from Wave 1 & 2 there in the three Carrefour around here. No wave 3 in Toys're Us either (where I've buy a lot of previous ones), although they still have many from previous waves. The current 'best' place is Boulanger (home equipment store) which had the whole wave 3 yesterday minus Rosalina, but the release dates are unreliable there. That's also one of the last places that hasn't raised the price.

Videogame shops still stock them, but the main chain (Micromania) sells out of new ones in hours at best (only found Sheik there), since many are shopping there. I managed to find many uncommon in a Gamecash, though, another specialized retailer.

Overall, it's doable, but you probably won't be able to find the very rarest ones in store for sure, even with a lot of dedication.

yeah its been discussed a few times since late last night. i think on this page and the last as well. What would be the angle of that thread as compared to it being discussed among the Amiibo collectors here? Pointing out a potentially shady business practice? I just don't know if it would serve a point outside of here but I am sure you would get some funny interesting comments from non Amiibros.

I still have all my amiibo in their boxes, except for an extra Pit and a Kirby. I just love the packaging too much.

Went to my local Toys-R-Us today (again) and they said they're getting stock in on Feb 15th. Not sure if this is the same for other UK TRU. They still haven't received any wave 3. Here's hoping they have some Rosalina in their shipment.

Admittedly if you just wanted them for collecting the packaging is pretty great at it. Very nice window-box to see the whole figure. I generally want to use mine though, which is why I'm tempted to get Lucina even though I have her Figma ordered already. Dat Code Name STEAM functionality.

If all goes right I should be finally moving out at some point this year. By then I'll get a nice display case at Ikea. And then I'll unpackage them to display them properly. Don't really have the space in my bedroom :/

Yeah, that's pretty cool. Too bad I'm not into Fire Emblem, so I'm not gonna buy those Amiibo's just to have them in that game. But it's both Intelligent Systems, so it makes sense of course.

Hi guys, I'm new around here!

I can't believe the saga with the Wave 4 pre-orders on the UK Nintendo store. They basically allowed all the scalpers to buy up all the pre-orders and only implemented the '1 per customer' when they were down to Charizards. I can't believe nearly all of the major UK stockists are sold out of pre-orders, and they're not even out until April!!

I can't believe how many new members this thread attracts its awesome. AmiiboGaf FTW!

Oh, no harm intended. I understand your concern. I really meant it more as an idea for a PSA thread for those interested in purchasing that Amiibo who may not follow that thread. :)

Haha I followed the threads for ages as a guest and then felt I needed to register! I even started my own blog so I could talk about it from the UK perspective :)

Currently debating whether or not Toon Link would look good on my car dashboard! :D

And they're gone, again. Honestly, just checking your local TRU in-store, you might be lucky enough to just find one (or 12) just sitting there ready to buy.

After Amazon pushed my date to March, I went to TRU, bought him there, cancelled Amazon order. Who knows, you might get lucky and find him since scalpers are after Toon Link and Sheik (at least in my area of PA).
