I've seen the Kirby pre-order cards in store. I actually thought I'd seen it at Target, but it must have been TRU (unless it's both). Every store is running together these days.

Both of the Wal Marts near me look bare. Never saw any wave 2 at either.
I only ever see peach in my walmarts tiny Amiibo section.

I have to work that day and the night before and I really don't want to be up earlier than I have to but I'll probably do the same.
Word is every target should have between 12 and 24 Rosalinas, 12 bowsers and 4 Sheiks and 4 Toon Links. Chances are if you go at release and you don´t see them, ask and there should be some on the back.
At least that is what some pictures on reddit say.
Mine is still full of Mario/Link/Peach/Yoshi/Pikachu, and they got Luigi & Zelda recently.

Any word when Meta knight might release at best buy? I might shop around 1/30 at TRU for Lucario and maybe grab Toon Link, Sheik, and Bowser to take advantage of the deal and cancel my Amazon order if it happens.
Anyone cancel orders from Nin-Nin games before? I heard they charge you cancellation fees but I can't seem to find anything about it online. To make it worse, their customer service is slow.
I think it important to note 02/01 is a Sunday and as it's a weekend competition will be at an all time high.

But for other items its always packed I plan on getting to my target about 5.

For Wave 2, not a line, but people standing outside. And then it was a race to get to the electronics isle first. Most people don´t run, I don´t care, I run for it and always get my price.

I've just tried to do the same but it says that amiibo can't be shipped outside of Japan. What gives?

Mario Party doesn't write anything to the FE characters. It only writes things to the main Mario Party characters who can store items. At least, that's the impression I got from that Nintendo Direct.

Thats correct. I was talking about all games here forward that write to any character that can be used across multiple games you have to worry about overwriting your previous data on a new game. So I don't want to lose my level 50 data for Marth. But will if I scan him in STEAM? Don't know yet. Pretty sure if you use Smash Mario though in Mario Party it will overwrite your data from smash.

As the friday date of misery draws closer, I'm getting more and more open to the idea of actually dragging myself over to toys r us to fight for a lucario.... ugh. Maybe. IDK.
I was excited to do the free kirby amiibo thing while there too, at first. But I just realized:
Best buy GCU: kirby the game is 40 * 0.8 = 32. Kirby the figure is 13 * 0.8 = 10.40. I save less than 3 dollars. I'm probably just going to put off buying the kirby game instead.... Haven't started Bayo or DKC TF yet so I don't really need it any time soon.
Have the mechanics of characters in STEAM been explained yet? Like, do they have RPG stats and levels? Cause if not, then there probably won't be anything to save on it, and no need to wipe. But if there are RPG stats (which I've just been assuming) then they could go either way, and force you to continually re-tap marth to access the data saved on it, or just have a scan-to-recruit thing.

I think scanning the FE characters in STEAM will just unlock the characters in STEAM, like unlocking Mii costumes in Mario Kart 8.
Pretty sure you're right about Mario in Mario Party, though. If you have Smash data on him, you'll have to overwrite it to use him in Mario Party. If they're merciful, maybe they'll let you just use him as a regular playable character in the Amiibo mode without overwriting data and just go without saving items.
I used a hair dryer and went all around his neck area for about 3 minutes. Once the neck was nice and rubbery I held his head where I wanted it and dunked the top half of the amiibo in ice water while still holding his head in place for about two minutes.
Voila! It was really easy and he looks SOO much better!

The more you order at once, the cheaper it is per figure. Add them to cart then check out and view the final page to see the grand total. Try it out!

Aaaah I see, for some reason I assumed you ordered from amazon. Might have a look at play-asia now. Last time I ordered from them was a Stafy game around the release of SSBB(!)

That's it! It's been over two hours now and it seems to be staying too.
I'm starting to think twice about purchasing every amiibo. I like the collector aspect of gotta catch 'em all but this is a huge investment.
I feel like this is starting to cut into my actual gaming budget and while I have a fairly large backlog still, I like to keep up on new games to a degree and I'm starting to really fall in love with indie games. Maybe I'm just panicking with all of the upcoming amiibos but it is starting to look like a daunting task.
I'm also trying to work up the courage to open them.
