Some people, for whatever reason, can't yet start their preloaded PS4 version. I was able to, last night, but only after I deleted and redownloaded it. If someone was to buy it now without preorder, it would download and work fine, but they messed up the preload for this game 100% completely.
Don't be afraid to experiment with your items. You probably have examined something that would give you a hint as to where to go next but didn't use an item on it that might reveal your path.
Advenure game puzzles 101 is basically make sure you exhaust every possible dilaog option in conversations, examine every viable object in each location and try to pick it up, examine every item in your inventory, and always be thinking about possible item/object interactions as you progress.
Hole punching the Ace card. Filling the balloons with the packing material and sending them down the tube. And unlocking the bolt on the door in the message room.
The balloons and the bolt seemed pretty easy to me. If you notice the door it locks as soon as he leaves and the lock sticks out. The balloons fill station looked like they would work on a balloon so I just tried it and it worked.

I didn't work at first. I downloaded and it said it was corrupt and to delete and re-download, but as soon as I deleted it showed right back up. I ended up having to go to my download list and deleting it from there for some odd reason and then I could re-download and get it to launch.
You also have to remember that when the game came out, the target audience were a playerbase with a lot of adventure puzzle gaming experience from previous LucasArts and Sierra games. So yeah, I'd expect a lot of the game can be difficult for new players if they aren't familiar with these kinds of games.
I think I played this game in 2001 or so. I'd played a bunch of Lucasarts games like Monkey Island and DoTT and Full Throttle, but yeah, I found Fandango especially difficult. Loved it, but never finished it.
Gonna play it on PS4, but damned if I'm not gonna have my ipad at my side with a walkthrough bookmarked. I wanna play this with my GF to enjoy the story and characters, but I have no desire to wander around for 2 hours trying to solve some obscure puzzle.
I normally don't like being stuck but, when I first played this in 1998, being stuck in some of the environments was actually a part of the experience. You'd end up spending more time in each location than you would if you just plowed through the puzzles. That's not always true with adventure games but I feel it is here. I still fondly recall wandering around the deserted streets of Rubacava at night...
What's with the orange (possibly the lit cigarette?) glitch on the remasted lighting option (PC). The right side of Manny is always flickering orange and when I climb up the rope in the opening section, it leaves it behind in midair. If I turn off the new lighting it's fine.
Vita version is a letdown, expected a bit more performance-wise, but I'll probably still play a good deal on the go (especially when I do a second playthrough for commentary and for the tank control trophy... son of a bitch Tim).
Thanks for the words on the Vita version! Yup, PS4 is obviously the way to go, that's kind of a bummer for me. But I'll still buy the game in the future.

Finally someone got my reference. Anyway i was all ready to buy grim Fandango on PS4 but i didn't manage to preorder in time so no theme for me, still kinda pissed about that.
Are you playing on a laptop? Try the discrete GPU. My brother had no background with the integrated GPU with the remastered graphics, but using the discrete GPU fixed it.
So if I used someone's account that has the theme active could I sign in with their account to download it and then go back to my default account and use it?
Might have to go to the B/S/T thread to see if I can get someone to do this for $$$

That's not how it works, you need to set your PS4 as your primary with that account to use it.
I know this because the 20th anniversary theme went up early in Europe, so I created a European account to DL it. But I couldnt use it with my NA account until I logged in with my EU account and set my PS4 as my primary system.
So the person you make the deal with would have to have YOUR PS4 set as their primary. It won't work
I'm not sure but probably too late. I switched right at the beginning before even taking a step and I'm wondering if that might even be too late. Hopefully you don't have to start a new game after switching. If someone who has the trophy could confirm that'd be great.
inflated them with those 2 liquids and put them in the message tube. They went down and messed the "tube machine". The janitor is fizing it, so I turned the lock in the door so it stays open when he leaves. Then he's on fire, and when I come with the extinguisher he saysit's dangerous and all. Then I leave the room, re-enter the room alone and put the card in the tube. But Manny says the pressure is too high and it won't work

A the start I had to look a chunk of a section already
After reaching the poisoned guy. I had to look at the other guys messages to get his client... I could not figure out how to go in there. Then I searched about the baloons and was able to get the maintance guy down in the lobby. But then I tried everything to get the guy out of the room, or to keep the door open, and could not figure out that all I had to do was to open the door locker! I did not even realized it was an interactive object, until I searched in the internet. Then I ran out of patiance, and when I could not use the card in there, I searched again... needed to make holes in it.
I'm ashamed.
I'm playing Monkey Island aswell and am not having nearly that much of problems already. At this game is very important to try to interect with every single thing in the rooms. Also the game doesnt really tell you much, if tell you anything.
Not sure if its a bad thing thoug. I mean, some objects are hard to realize that are interactive, so there's that. But it requires a lot of thinking, and thats a good thing. But I will end up searching for a lot of solutions if that keep happening. lol

Anybody know how to get a successful poetry reading in Olivia's Club? I was able to pull it off, but I don't know if I was just doing it right or if it was because I convinced the guys at the table that I'm hip

The trick to these games, especially compared to most modern games, is to take it slow. Very slow. They expect a lot of patience from the players - exhausting dialogue trees, carefully examining the environment. There are some difficult parts, but it's very rewarding if you don't use guides. These aren't games that are made to finish in one or two sittings. It's more fun than it sounds to play for a bit, and when you're stuck on a problem to just stop playing and think about the problem for a day or a couple of days and then come back to it.

Yep...as I mentioned earlier you really need to pay attention to everything. Assume an object you see is interactive in some way until you can rule it out. That said, at least the game's not a notorious pixel hunter like some old adventure games have been.
Perhaps the OP can add in an "Adventure Game Puzzle Solving 101" section compiling some of the suggestions we've posted.
