I'm really enjoying it so far, but the forest has been very clunky. I think playing on Vita hurts a little bit too because some things are very small and almost impossible to see on the screen.

edit- Ok I had to just look up what to do. It wasn't the Vita screen's fault after all. It was just the worst "puzzle" I've ever seen in a game. What an annoying segment. I hope the rest of the game isn't like this.

Never played this before but the voice acting and choices are so great. Having a lot of fun with some of the puzzle solving as the story goes a long.

I'm stuck at the puzzle with the server room

Already managed to get the guy to fix it, but for some reason the extinguisher couldn't be used and I have absolutely no idea how to get his access card.

If you want help, here it is:

You can push the door lock when he's working on the machine. That way, when he leaves, the door doesn't close shut.

If you're talking about the signpost puzzle, or taking care of the demonic beavers... I think many people can sympathise.

But fear not! That is by far the weakest point in the game. It's only uphill from here, friend!

^Yep, it was the signpost part. It was so bad that it almost made me hate the game. I really wanted to do a no-guide run. The beaver part was really annoying too, but I at least figured it out after getting pissed off for a while. The signpost was never going to happen.

Good to hear that it's the worst part in the game!

I give most adventure games, including even this classic, an hour to two hours of "I don't get this shit."

You'll enjoy it much more if you acclimate to spoilers because hombe/chica, this fucking game has some nasty puzzles.

I'll definitely be doing that. I just wish I could call some of these things "puzzles." I'm still liking the game, but that sign post bit was so illogical that it couldn't be solved with logic. To me that's a massive failure for a game like this.

A game like The Swapper can be beaten with logic because it is a well designed puzzle game. I hope the rest of this game goes back to things progressing in a way that makes sense, like the beginning did.

Use the Universal Hint System for a minimum of spoilers:

Right there with you. I will say this game's writing, feeling, and characters are so damn endearing that the occasional goddamn moment caused by puzzles is far outweighed and if you've made it this far I'm sure you'll finish it.

Might replay it myself now....

Agreed on above in regard to the story and characters- those easily powered the game right until the end. Some really sentimental moments in the story-
having to follow Sal's ticket to find his body was tragic. Just knowing that he had a ticket all along, and was so close to having it recovered for him by Manny...

I pretty much resigned to playing with a guide shortly after that section. I decided that keeping the momentum of the story was more important than my "gaming pride".

Well, I finally beat it. It took me over a month, but I did it. I just kept coming back to it, getting frustrated, and then leaving it alone for a while. I ended up basically using the hints website for a lot of it and then a full out walkthrough for some other parts.

The characters, story, and overall atmosphere kept me going. However, this is one of the most frustrating games I've ever finished. There were times when I completely hated it. I couldn't believe some sections where I knew exactly what to do but I wasn't standing on the exact right pixel with my scythe so it didn't trigger. And of course, other sections made absolutely no logical sense whatsoever.

The general jankiness and the crash that sent me back to the previous year almost had me quitting it for good, but I really wanted to see how things played out. I really feel like they should have fixed and changed things with this remaster. This felt like a really lazy product to me.

This might be the most obtuse of all the Lucasarts adventure games. They really should've put in a hint system ala the Monkey Island remakes because there's some shit that is damn near nonsensical.

It also doesn't help that i'm playing on an OG vita so things are pretty small and hard to see at times and the fact that the Vita screen doesn't work so well in light means i cant see shit whenever things get dark in the game. meh

This is where I stopped playing, about six weeks ago. Stupid random dumb shit which really put me off the whole game.

Yup, GRIM sadly has some of the lowest quality puzzling of any lucas adventure.

This was definitely a problem for me too, most likely. I played the whole game on Vita. There were definitely things that were almost completely invisible on the small screen haha
