Amiibo Discussion Thread 2: I Got 99 Pre-orders But A Rosalina Ain't One

I finally came to the decision to trade or sell four of my open amiibo: Marth, Pikachu, Captain Falcon, and Diddy Kong.

I didn't really want any of these, but got caught in the hype train (especially for Pikachu and Diddy Kong...didn't want either one from the outset).
 
Hey guys, don't forget Sunday is also the Superb Owl. Maybe a lot of people will be busy that day? Retail locations are usually ghost towns during the event.

With all this talk of the Amiibo, what I'm really excited about is the N3DS lol. Really hoping to score a MM one on release day to go with my WWHD special Wii U. Even if I don't though, I'll be happy with a regular one. Still don't know the color I would get, thinking black.

I got to play it today at gamestop along with the MM demo both were very impressive I was very pleased with the way it felt in hand and slightly less minding we didn't get the regular n3ds now.
Still worried that I missed out on the Majora's Mask LE game though...

It could be that they haven't received them yet, or they are sitting in the stockroom and the employee doesn't know or care to check.

I am going to be there at opening time, I need to get one for me and one for a friend. I also need to get three lucarios on saturday so I will arrive when they open too.

Nice, I'll have to head to one soon to check it out.i never got a 3DS so I got a handful if games I want to play.
 
Update for our Canadians friend in search of Rosalina.

So I called Target customer service and apparently there was a memo sent out yesterday stating that all stores, with exceptions, will be receiving the Rosalina amiibo for sale February 1st and shipments have been sent already to the stores. The only store I was told, and confirmed with by management, to not be receiving the delivery will be the Shoppers World location in Toronto, located between Victoria Park and Main st Station. This is apparently due to expedited liquidation.

It's actually a nice figure. The Tomy hyper/super-sized line have some great sculpts! Well, some of the super-sized ones kinda suck...

Every store and their competence is different.

I alreadt know that I'm going to have to ask the people at my store to bring them out when I get there.
 
What's everyone's thoughts on Toon Link availability? Possible Rare? or a little easier to find that some?

Gonna keep trying that Walmart link for now
 
Just another Target story. Talked to the guy at mine. They don't have any of Wave 3. Even better yet they don't have any shipments coming in yet and don't know when they'll get any.

For Canadian Amiibros: I just got off the phone with my local eb games. They're going to have wave 3 amiibos on the floor on
Friday the 30th
. However, an email was sent out (not sure how widespread the news is) that
there are no confirmations as to quantity, as what the guy I talked to wasn't even seeing enough on the shipping order to fill out the preorders. However, they should be able to fill out the preorders, he told me

I'm surprised that there's four like this. I wouldn't be bothered about them not having stock now but it seems like they should know when they're getting stock in the future. This just seems messy. The dude told me to just keep calling every few days to check on the shipment status. :/

I've been calling all the stores every day since the toysrus early arrivals.
 
I'm think I'm starting to experience a condition known as early-onset Amiibo-induced retail paranoia, in which I assume everyone around me (when I'm driving to the store, parking at the store, and actually in the store) is trying to buy all the rare Amiibos before I can. It's a serious condition and there's no known cure.

Ignorant employees; that's all it is. They're misinformed because they just don't care. I've gotten two different stories regarding Amiibos before, from the same store, so it's not like it doesn't happen often. Try and ask someone else next time. They are in the ad; they will be there.

Best time to shop, no lines! Jan is a slow retail month, so not many people get scheduled on weekdays.
 
Meh, looks like I missed out on Toon Link. I just wonder how much he'll be stocked at other stores.
