Putting rice in a burrito is like putting pineapple on pizza

The only problem I have with rice in my burrito is when it's either under or overcooked. Kills the whole meal when I bite into crunchy rice.

I will never understand some peoples hate with pineapple on a pizza. That's like hating bacon. Weird.

Wow, thank you OP, that is an abomination indeed, and it seems to be an America-only thing because burritos down in Mexico are riceless.

Also, the only fruit that belongs in a pizza is tomato, anything else is a travesty.

That guy from Atlanta,

If you ate anywhere that had wait staff then you did it wrong... so very wrong.

The funny thing is, even though rice is a staple of burritos, I never liked most burritos for this exact reason. Most are overloaded with rice, and often have little to no meat compared to other cheaper ingredients.

+1 for not digging pineapple pizza.

I don't get the rice in the burrito thing either OP, it's like, do you make a sandwich and stick another slice of bread in there for no reason ? NO , no one does that (unless it's like a fancy club sandwich I guess).

I prefer fried potatoes if I have to add a filler to my Burrito, otherwise it's just black beans, peppers, meat, cheese , Guac, sour cream and salsa , jalepenos.

Not sure about the pineapple on a pizza thing though- that shit is delicious - loaded up Hawaiian with giant juicy chunks of fruit and nice slices of ham is the best.

You know, I was OK with you just not liking rice in your burrito. But you just had to go after all kinds of rice with your "rice is filler food" statement. Don't ever let me find you in a Asian restaurant boy.

Rice is amazing in burritos, you're insane.

But you're right about the pineapple on pizza. I always knew I would hate it and a friend last week got a pineapple pizza despite my insistence on how awful I knew it would be. It was awful. And I'll typically eat any kind of fucked up pizza.

It ruins a great meal.

Rice is a filler food and it has no place in the second greatest food of all-time (behind pizza), burritos.

Tell me why you disgrace such a heavenly food with this crap?

You sir are the real disgrace here smh...

Have an enchilada. It's a burrito without any of the filler and usually has some sort of topping. My mother makes the best green chili enchiladas.

I want to put pineapple in a burrito just to pester your sensibilities.

Pineapple on a burrito is fucking fantastic.

Jerk chicken + pineapple salsa. Mmm.

Just my two cents on the rice thing- like others have said, rice helps tremendously with texture. It's a worthy topping due to that.

I'm actually not a fan of rice or beans in my burritos its just filler unless that's what your expecting in a burrito like one of those lame ass veggie burritos.

You don't like pineapples on your pizza, and you don't think rice belongs in a burrito.. Remind me why I should listen to anything else you have to say.

Pineapple on pizza is one of those combinations that should be bad in theory, but in practice it's actually really good. Has to have ham/bacon on it too though, for whatever reason.
And rice in burritos is just a staple I think. Is it even a burrito without it?

Pineapple on pizza is some sort of severe food crime.

If I had my druthers about the whole thing it would be illegal; I mean we're talking apple juice and toothpaste combination levels of gross here.

I will never understand the hate for pineapple on pizza. I mean if you don't like pineapple in general then it is understandable

As an ex-hater, it's mostly the fact that it's sweet while everything else is not. I usually hate sweet stuff on non-sweet food, but somehow I grew to enjoy pineapple on pizza.

Sweet and sour is very natural.
I wonder how it can be okay for Chinese American food but taboo for Italian American food?

I would rather have a burrito without rice but it's free calories and doesn't take away from the taste. Almost everywhere I go has rice in their burritos as a standard. I've never tried one from a taqueria but that's because there are way better things to eat at a real taqueria.

I find this to be a strange post, because burritos themselves are more a U.S. thing. They are a staple stateside, but in all likelihood wouldn't be recognized as such in Mexico itself.

And burritos with rice are delicious! God, the thread title is so wrong, reading it almost made me shiver.
