Heading to bed, but I just wanted to post Brady's stats.

37/50 -> 74% completion rate
328 Yards
QBR -> 81
Rating -> 101.1

Fuck the Delfhaters. Deuces.

The reason Pats stans have things like deflategate shoved in their faces constantly is because they act like this. They deserve all the crap they get and more.

It was really the least probable series of events you could imagine to end a game. I did not even realize until watching NFL.com highlights that Butler was the defender in on the insane Kearse catch. Talk about letting a play wash of your back and getting back to work.

I assume it's easy to let a play like that go when it's all luck. Butler played that about as well as you could. Kearse just got lucky.

All they had to do was run the fucking ball like they've done all year. Lynch was averaging over 4+ yards per carry. Only 2nd down, still one time out. Why throw? Best RB in the league arguably, helped bring them here. Such a bad play call. You put a goaline formation and run play action pass. Not spread.

I've pounded my head against a wall running stuff like this through my head ALL the time... The problem is there will always be something you will run over and over in your head and it sucks man I hate that about sports, but it happened and it's worthless to question it. Hell look at 2 things here- Toms INT... wtf was he thinking? Why not play short/conservative, you had momentum take the points. Or how about the score right before the half. Disastrous coaching in those 31 seconds by the pats.

so lions lose to dallas by a pass interference no call

then karma strikes as dallas loses to green bay by a catch that was called incomplete

then karma strikes as green bay loses to seattle by a bunch of bullshit lol

then karma strikes as seattle loses to new england by an int on the 1 yard

Yep, and if Lynch walks the hawks have no one to blame but themselves, really.

Not really, the guy is old and has a ton of miles on the legs. He already proved a TON of people wrong this year as most thought he would slow down, but he was tough as ever. That being said Wilson needs to be paid, and It's tough to tie up all your money in just those 2 players especially if Lynch has the decline most do at this juncture in their career.

Richard Sherman gif is the new Rob Ryan gif. I want to see it in NPD threads. At any rate, I would not throw Carrol under the bus. End of the first half took balls of steel. They could have settled on a field goal knowing they opened the second half with possession. They are very young and could be back in the Superbowl next year. Between the Green Bay onside kick botch, OT coin toss, and Kearse catch, they almost completely defied physics.

Edelman now has more jewelry than Welker. Funny league.

Yea I suspect Seattle will be back, provided they pay Lynch. That offense isn't the same without them having that hard to stop threat in the backfield.

Anyway, I wonder who the Pats try to get in the offseason? I'd like to see Tom with another tall receiver to throw to one more time. Randy Moss was the only one with some real height on him. I need to see Tom chucking passes to a 6' 7"+ dude on a go route down the sideline again.

I like how Pete was trying to say they planned on scoring on 3rd or 4th down. Like what. You should run on second or third and go for a pass if that doesn't work. He was ballsey going for it in the first half, but he blew it on that final play.

Yup. Means the Patriots are definitely losing their first preseason game.

I will follow Russell Wilson's logic and conclude all according to Keikaku.

Translator's note: Keikaku means Tom Brady is God's second favorite player after Eli Manning.

Just rewatched the last couple plays. That was a damn exciting finish. I mean back-to-back plays with that bouncy catch and then the interception. Damn. Much better Super Bowl this year.

Gronk fills that role fine. There are 2 things that completely changed this offense- 1. when they had a run game. They need a more consistent back. Blount is tough, but he needs space to get going. There offense is far more dynamic when they can change it up. and 2. a consistent 3rd/4th option, these can be interchangable. Most of the season you had the obvious in Gronk/Edelman. It was basically Lafell or bust after that, however Amendola made a massive difference in the playoffs and made them look more efficient than ever. The offense really is the best letting Brady make his reads and adjusting the offense on the fly, he can't really throw down field, and hell he was never GREAT in the first place.

The worst thing is. Going from deflation like oh fuck, it's over to holy shit look at that catch by Kearse, cheering and thinking, here we go, back to back super bowl wins, repeat champions and then BAM, the INT hits you like a wrecking ball to the nuts. Just all comes crashing down.

trust me. 2007 perfect season ending helmet catch was worse.
that shit changed my life as a sports fan forever haha.

Whenever your team loses, it sucks, but you cant win them all. Then I remember that it is the people who actually work all year round that it must really suck for. As fans, we are just carried along for the ride.

That crazy catch the seahawks receiver made on the ground gave me flashbacks of the Pats Giants superbowls and my stomach started to feel heavy as I said to myself please no not again. Very scary game to watch.

Seahawks have drafted extremely well, team is basically built through the draft.

I look at it in awe, I mean hell did they get lucky? They have absolutely insane talent on the field and almost all of it is homegrown.

I can't believe people still believe in Deflategate...like come on

Again it's a crutch, a coping mechanism. I was hoping the pats would use the podium and basically crap all over it, but they took the high road and that's great. I'm hoping the updated reports paint the picture as clear as it really has become- from the experiments, to the fact that most balls were just barely below the 12.5 mark, besides the 1 outlier. I think most people already know given the fact that this happened post-deflategate in a sense that we know everything was regulation and they beat the best team in the league.

I know I said it a million times in this thread and I promise this will be my last time saying it but Billuminati.
New reports say only one ball was well under and the other 10 were barely under...contrary to previous reports of 11 being well under.

I'm convinced the whole thing was just a talking point to drum up controversy and talk for the big game.

Even if Seattle doesn't want to spend to keep Marshawn, I just know if we offered Lynch a better deal.....Seattle would all the sudden pony up and not let us get him.

It's almost not worth calling their bluff, because I wouldn't want them to get him back..even if they over pay.

I love Frank, but I wish we could get Lynch.

Edit- I think he goes to either the Raiders or Indy.

Lynch is really amazing, I've been hoping for longevity so he can find his way to the hall after the rough start to his career... that being said you don't want either of those guys if you have to pay for them. They're both on the back 9.

Meh I don't think that matters, I think it was the fact that it was the ball that was in play, therefore it was most recently exposed to the elements. The other balls were on the sidelines being dried and kept warm most likely allowing the pressure to remain normal.

While I really don't like the Patriots, I have to say they played a really good game. Seattle's injuries definitely caught up with them and their lack of talent in the receiving core finally did them in (even if the receiver should have never been put in that position)

Honestly, I just feel bad for Lynch, but the Patriots certainly deserved that hard fought win to snag that ball in that situation. The Giants-Pats 07 bowl is still my favorite in recent memory though.

Outside of the insane playcall from Carrol, one thing I completely don't understand is why the hell Bellichick didn't call a timeout there. In retrospect it worked out fine, but if they had actually scored there it would have been all over.

It doesn't matter. They will be called cheaters from now until Belichick retires maybe longer.

LOL

It should be of no surprise that those who have had the pent up frustration of the last 2 weeks, claims of not being good enough, cheating, etc. etc. want to enjoy their moment and opportunity to throw some shit right back at you haters.

It's always those who were most critical that seem to be the most sensitive and in need of "class". Fuck outta here. Most making those statements are the same sommbitches that would have been talking about Brady's legacy being just like Peyton's. Hold that salt shaker for tonight. And tomorrow.

You drunk, I just said I wasn't vested. I find the soap opera hate of sports fans to be one of the best comedies out there.

Always a bit of luck, but they know who fits into what they do and who doesn't. It's funny, because Belichick had some real awful drafts the last few year and yet he's still the bellwether to some. Seattle built a powerhouse in about 3-4 years.

yea it was a bunch of horse shit and I knew the flies would be all over it so I entertained them in the deflategate thread. As someone said its a great coping mechanism to help people deal with failure from there teams. Its makes ppl feel better to try to discredit the winner more so then blaiming the ref or accepting that there team didn't play well enough to win. You will hear ppl who can't give a good conversation about the game just utter spygate and deflategate 10 years down the line.

The 12 footballs are swapped in and out all game. There's no reason one ball would be way under and the others not. The fact that the only ball that was way under was the one in possession of the Colts is very telling.

He explained it. He said they practice hard for that situation, and they intended to win or lose by playing what they prepared for.

God he is the WORST at drafting. I've posted a list of his recent AWFUL decisions the worst for me has to be Tavon Wilson.

That being said he's done better than I give him credit for in the putting together this offense- the o-line, Gronk, Hernandez (I know I know, but he really was amazing, too bad he's a maniac), Ridley/vereen, Edelman. He's also posted a ton of garbage in that time span. He also can't draft secondary worth a damn, he got lucky with DMC with the transition happening because he was a historically bad CB after his rookie season. Glad they finally went out and brought in somebody worth putting on a football field.

I have sworn to never buy another EA game, but I'm now compelled to buy the next Madden. That was the greatest Madden curse of all time, the game even called it, and Sherman ended the game in tears.

Bravo, EA!

Should we jump to conclusions based only on circumstantial evidence and drag a team's reputation through he mud just for something to talk about?

Because it seems like the right thing to do.

Still can't believe that after that Miracle pass that got the Seahawks inside the 5 that Patriots were able to pull it out. Felt like game over after the Tyree thing happened all over again.

oh my god, I can't even pontificate at this point.

I know the feeling. Now imagine instead of back-to-back SBs you were going for the first ever 19-0 season. And instead of your opponent picking off a goal-line pass that never should've been thrown, they completed a circus catch to a no-name guy who literally caught it with his helmet. I was bummed for like a solid week after that game.

Oh it was the worst. I was sitting on the floor at that point, completely resigned to us losing again on a fluke play. I actually said "Let him in!" on the first down run. From the go-ahead touchdown, to the tipped-kicked-and-bobbled catch, to the interception. What a roller coaster. Damn, what a game!

I think this is a little ridiculous to be honest. I don't think anything nefarious went on with the colts. I think if anything went on behind the scenes, it was simply owners/coaches pissed off- most likely harbaugh- about Bill thumbing his nose at certain things. Harbaugh is a bit of a sore loser as it is (his brother is worse), and he was pissed about the formations. It was seen as a cheap move to him, and while it was technically legal, he cried foul. I think they pulled this on them knowing the technicality of the rule, it was basically pulling a belichick on himself.
