Super Bowl XLIX |OT| The Butler Did It

Didn't get to post in here last night, because of drunk. I didn't care who won, but I was still pissed the seahawks lost. I don't care about hindsight, the call was careless. You don't risk the game with a pass. One of the best tough guy runners, you lose the game with the ball in his hands at that point in the field.

This point is beaten to a pulp already, but still I want to help out with beating it.

three weeks ago I watched football for the first time.

two weeks ago I decided to support the Patriots.

this week they win the Super Bowl in such a dramatic fashion. feels good man :)

I started watching NFL and supporting the Pats in 2007. This SB win has made up for that year.

well yeah, had they got the TD then people would have said it was the best call to avoid lynch

it works both ways lol, needed luck for that int
People keep saying this, but I don't think it's true. It was an incredibly risky call if it worked or not. Especially when you have Lynch as your back, had at least one more play, and had a time out. There was absolutely no reason to throw there. The only excuse to call it is to say you were trying to catch the Patriots off guard. But with the momentum they had after that crazy Kearse catch I think they already had them off guard. No doubt in my mind that they would have gotten a TD on one of the next plays if they ran the ball.

Holy shit.

Good lord, some of these articles are brutal:

All Carroll had to do was apply a little common sense to the final seconds of Super Bowl XLIX, and no, it wasn't too much to ask. Carroll had already won it all with the Seattle Seahawks and the USC Trojans. He had earned the unconditional respect of his opponent, Bill Belichick, who knew Carroll as a closer who had inspired Seattle to "compete relentlessly as well as any team and any organization I've ever observed."

Carroll just had to make a decision any Pop Warner coach worth his whistle and drill cones would have made.

At least it was entertaining considering I have no interest in either team.

I still think Giants/Pats was better.

Still cant get over it.

Kearse's amazing catch, a gift from the football gods. Lynch runs 4 yards and he is fucking on fire. Run it in or even QB Sneak. 1 fucking yard needed. And you pass!

Yeah. Although Kearse's ridiculous catch was pretty typical for the receivers this season -- he couldn't make the relatively easy catch in the third quarter which probably would have increased the lead to 13 or even 17 and might have put the game away, but he somehow manages to catch that...

What's the context of this gif? I'm an NFL newbie.

That is Lynch (beast mode) right? What is he reacting to? Surely not the play at the end of the game where the Seahawks decided to pass instead of give the ball to Lynch right (I'd assume he'd be on the field for the end play)? I'm confused.

Throw a "when" in there and it's perfect.

That's Richard Sherman reacting to the interception that cost the Seahawks the Super Bowl. He plays on defense.

It's Richard Sherman.

I didn't have my eggs in either basket for this game as I enjoy watching both teams play. Really awesome game from start to finish with an amazing play by both teams in the final minute.

I had been pulling slightly for Seattle at the end, until they decided to instigate a fight with the wrong offense and then I felt they deserved the L. Poor attitudes all around.

That's Richard Sherman, star cornerback of the Seattle Seahawks. He's not on the field because he's a defensive player.

The person is Richard Sherman, one of the defensive players on the Seahawks. He's grimacing at the fact that they blew their chance to win the game with a stupid INT.

Congrats Pats-GAF. Fuck your team, but congrats. Edelman was the true MVP of that game. Dude continued to play well even though he was obviously concussed. I figured he'd have a field day since the Hawks have had issues with those types of receivers. I guess when you have Tharold Simon out there, you can pick on him all day with anyone like Rashaan Melvin on the Ravens.

I'm happy Tom Bradt got his 4th Superbowl.
I feel like a llot of people don't think of him as one of the greats, maybe due to the Spygate fiasco .

Also, I'm not a fan of the Patriots but they are a really consistent team - they make it the playoffs nearly every year (?) , they are always a threat despite injuries ,they are a well coached team.

I really wanted Peyton Manning to win another one, but it seems he just doesn't play well in the playoffs.

Next year I hope to see some unexpected teams late in the playoffs.

Go pats. Rev up the duckboats we got another trophy to parade through boston.

Also, I drank super heavily last night and this mornin I wake up to a blizzard canceling work and I'm hangover free. The wins keep coming

It looked so easy. Belichick didn't even look like he knew how to respond. He didn't know whether to call a timeout and let them score or to defend.
The line between greatness and goat is thin. Hoodie was about to get pummeled by the media for not calling a time out until Bevell one upped him with arguably the worst play call in super bowl history. Both coaching staffs did what they could to lose the game in the final minute.

This was an exciting superbowl to watch...it's been many years since I've sat down and watched a superbowl from start to finish...and I'm not a huge football fan. This one though was pretty damn exciting, I was hoping Brady would break the record books, it's always fun to watch someone do those things.

The Simpsons had an episode where Lisa, the girl, inadvertently has a class loser fall in love with her. He takes her to a TV show as a date where she breaks his heart, incidentally it's all on television. Her brother Bart records the show and hits slow MO when the class losers heart is broken.

In this gif it's showing Richard Sherman, the star and face of Seattle as his offense turns the ball over in the final seconds to lose the game.

I can barely celebrate. It's snowing like a motherfucker. I don't want to shovel today. I guess I'll take it over shoveling after a loss :)
