Super Bowl XLIX |OT| The Butler Did It

1. Gronk has cemented himself among the all time greats of TEs. I myself laughed off this notion earlier in the season, but even if his career ends prematurely given his injury history, he's already pretty damn high up the TE TD list, he has a superbowl TD, he has comeback player of the year, and now he's got the ring to prove it. Tony G and Gates are amazing, but they never got their rings (gates most likely never will), and gronk given a few healthy seasons can pass these guys TD totals long before they got there.

Yeah definitely, Gronk is in the running. Although Shannon Sharpe has 2 rings.

Shannon is in the conversation no doubt, but even without rings people have Tony G above him. Gronk can literally pass Sharpes entire TD career total next year at the age of 26.

Wait, what? How come? Just due to the ice?

...what if the duckboat crashes into a Dunks!?

Not sure, but probably because of all the snow that's still falling, and trying to clear off sidewalks and stuff.

Personally, I think they're just giving in to the inevitable

I just woke back up. As soon as I look out the window, I notice more snow coming down. I think this semester is going to consist of 4 days total.

YIKES. That is very cold. I'm surprised they don't have the parade later in the week, especially with the foot of snow the Boston area got today.

Foot of snow and then some. I'm getting nervous my back porch is going to collapse, it has 6 feet of drift snow on it. Gonna have to somehow get out through the wall of snow and clear it off, but I'm nervous it will collapse with me on it.

Nice. I'll have a front row view of the parade from work tomorrow!

Unless they cancel classes, then i'll be able to actually be front row :D

The Media is just eating and chewing out the Seahawks..... But every article somehow hints a small dose of the media more mad at them for making themselves look like fools. It's almost like, they all wanted the Seahawks to win.....

I am not looking forward to digging my car out again...

Having the parade tomorrow is so stupid , sidewalks are still getting buried in snow

Should have had it on Saturday

Still debating about going if it's shitty or nice outside

Someone from the Globe who covers City Hall is saying it could be moved to Wednesday

e: news channels are reporting Wednesday confirmed

Wow so I just heard that Katy Perry garnered 118 million views for her halftime show, beating the previous record of 114 million, making her halftime show the most viewed halftime show in history! Congrats to her!

So now the parade is moved to Wednesday. I have no classes on Tuesday but Wednesday I have 3. Looks like I won't he going after all :(

They should seriously just have it on a Saturday

Julian Edelman did not have a full-blown concussion test. That happens only in the locker room.

Haha. Tolbert is going on about what I was talking about earlier today. At the end of the half just tackle every seattle receiver and force them to kick a field goal. DUH.

keep trying to find some sort of technicality to try to discredit it. BTW did Russell go to the locker room in the GB game? Not sarcasm I seriously don't remember.

This shit is just getting sad at this point. They won, get over it.
Who cares about CTE and early onset dementia? Football.

Dementia is awful. It ruins people. Slowly destroying their brains until they are no longer capable of producing saliva. It's a slow death sentence that I couldn't imagine giving someone in their late 30s.

I understand though why fans want their players to stay in the game though.

Man, this game kinda destroyed my girlfriend last night (lots of jelly shots didn't help, haha).

On the bright side, she was pissed off enough to kick out her good for nothing roommate later that night who hadn't paid rent in a month (and was always late).

But seriously Hawks, the fuck were you thinking!? Even if I wasn't a fan, making that touchdown would have been the ultimate emotional arc after that insane catch right beforehand. But as a fan of random as surprises myself, I can see how non-Seahawks fans are probably feeling right now. :)

It's awful, but don't pretend like this shit doesn't go on everywhere in the league. Russell Wilson against the pack, Big Ben and Heath miller against the Ravens. This stuff happens all the time.

I also think it's funny that concussions are celebrated in here as long as it's a patriots player.

Okay, why are you ranting about CTE now?

I don't think the Patriots should be singled out for this. Even with my hate. Many teams try to get around this especially in big games.

A lot of times it's about forcing your players off the field, because they usually want these injuries to be ignored due to the stigma of head injuries and showing weakness.

This is a universal NFL problem. The incentives to ignore the head-injury policy are even higher in the playoffs and Super Bowl.

Edit: Dark Flow, I've been ranting about CTE for a long time.

I don't remember, either. I don't think he did, though.

Quite the shot.

Hey believe me I knew it happened when I saw it and I feared for him. It's a tough call, because it would've haunted him for the rest of his life if he came out of the game, but he literally risked his life by staying in. That being said this is exactly why pats fans talk about everybody targeting them. People are now scraping the bottom of the barrel to call them cheaters. Believe me it's not bothering me I'm enjoying it, but it's just sad, you only validate why we react the way we do by pulling this crap. Nobody cried CHEATER at the hawks 1 weak earlier. They should've been banned from the SB!

You don't need to rant, PBS has a show that does it for you!

Not saying you were picking on the Pats here, I just couldn't remember if Wilson had a test done. I was watching that game off and on until the 4th quarter, so I couldn't remember.

Wilson looked like he was concussed in the NFC Championship game. I'm guessing he didn't get a full test either.

...more people ranting about CTE isn't a bad thing. Like regardless of what shenanigans happened with deflategate these past two weeks and how upset fans are that the patriots won, these sort of revelations should be looked at more seriously. It warrants more than a "This shit is just getting sad at this point. They won, get over it."
