2K has given two middle fingers to Evolve's digital early adopters

All these dlc options will probably be available day 1.

Also despite me saying I would not pre-order this game I went ahead and did so today lol. I've always had plans on buying this game from the moment it was announced but after finding out about the free monster for pre-orders only despite the content being so skimpy I pre-ordered because i'm going to be buying the game anyway so I might as well get the free content. I think my reasoning is pretty sound even though I don't support this tactic I don't really want to miss out on something especially seeing as it's free.

Lol my mates are gonna get a huge surprise when I crack out this guy and pummel them.

Btw I haven't played any betas or anything so i'm going in blind. Weeeeeeeeeeeee

Uhhh, actually, you do support it. Literally. With your dollars. You are like Exhibit A in why developers do this.

Oh well sux to be me then I guess??! Lol wtf do I care, I want the game so I preordered it which entitles me to some free shit. Should I cancel my pre-order and instead just buy the game on day 1 and deny myself the free content?! Only an idiot would do that.

There is nothing stopping people from pre-ordering the game, reading reviews on day 1 and then cancelling or going ahead with the pre-order. Sure these are some shady tactics but ima get mine and that's all I care about as should anyone else interested in the product. Fuck all the outside factors...if you want or need it and no animals were harmed in doing so then go right ahead....you're not hurting anybody.

Also the way I see it the only people who should be whinging about not having an upgrade path are the people who were given a copy as a gift in which case just enjoy your free game! Or the people that thought they were smart by getting a friend to purchase another countries' version of a game to gift to them...in which case you are doing the dodgy anyways so....no upgrade for you lol.

Geez guys just calm down a bit.....nothing here that is really that extreme. Also $15/$20 for a monster and some hunters isn't that farfetched seeing as there are only 3 monsters in the game anyways so technically that is 1/3rd of the content for 1/3rd of the price! Wow what a ripoff aye?

I can't believe I had to go fifteen pages deep just to find a single thread about Evolve so I could ask a question.

It comes out next week and have the publisher and developer done such an excellent job of alienating the player base that no one wants to talk about it at all?

Anyway...I'm still not sold on this...yet. The DLC and pre-order shenanigans has me feeling very cautious about it. However...it was explained to me last night that if I play this game with four other friends (so five of us in total).

The five of us can basically take turns playing private matches with and against one another, four vs one. Is that true?

Pre-order me if not...

99% sure you can do the 5 friends thing. I watched the devs play on twitch and they had a full 5 man lobby, taking turns being the monster etc and they still got xp at the end of each match (not sure if these were custom games or proper matchmaking or wot).

I'm actually keen for this game (prob just to test out my new GPU), but the hype is nowhere near real. All my friends played and love L4D1+2, however not a single person on any of my social lists are interested in or are buying Evolve. 2K really fucked the dog with this game and I hope whatever market experiment they're pulling with the DLC is worth completely throwing it under the bus for.

Same shit caused me not to buy the garbage.

That might seal the deal for me despite their DLC-Pre order fuckery.

With that said...being able to five man lobby that game makes me think it will make a joke of "XP Leveling" and trophy-achievement farming.

I know very little about progression in the game so I could be wrong here.

The only reason I think this game will do ok in sales is because there is HEAPS of advertising for it every game related place I go to. Heaps of banners and mobiles hanging, also there has been heaps of previews and betas and alphas so I think a fair few people are across this.

I've only got a couple of friends who are actually buying it so even I won't have a 4-5 man team but I didn't have a single other friend buy left 4 dead and that ended up being one of the best co-op experiences i've ever had.

I haven't gamed with any gaffers before but i'm hoping I can play with some regular peepz if I end up enjoying this game and want to sink more time into it. I just want to play the games i'm interested in and they are few and far between nowadays. At the moment I buy approx one game every 3-4 months because there is just nothing that interests me, so when something comes along that does i'm all over it like a rabid dog. Also co-op and monsters!!
