I would personally prefer that Nintendo spend the plastic and chips to make more of the other Amiibos that ran out. At least around my area (San Jose/Mountain View), there are still a ton of Mario universe Amiibos, so it seems weird that they'd basically make more Mario universe Amiibos when the demand for those hasn't been exhausted by the original supply.

I know Nintendo said the Club Nintendo Gold / Platinum prizes would be digital only, but, this is Nintendo and nothing they ever do or say makes sense, so I still kinda feel like this is somehow linked to Club Nintendo.
I'd even wager it will be revealed in March as rewards you can purchase with coins.
They'll find a way to screw their fans over.
