Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 out Oct 2nd for Switch, new amiibo announced

1000% this. I know the Mario team has only recently finished DK but this would have been a perfect opportunity for Galaxy 3 with the 40th anniversary for Mario and the announced Galaxy movie. What a damn shame.
If Nintendo decides to make another galaxy game, that would be more telling of their game development than anything regarding the Mario series. The Galaxy series is the only 3d Mario with a sequel. I rather have a new game imo.

They will most likely have an upgrade patch for Switch 2 users but I can't see them printing two different editions for this one (like they are for MP4)
I'm full digital so IDC, they've been too silent with their Switch 2 upgrades and I'm afraid they don't care anymore, if that's the case I'll be really disappointed, they should be upgrading all of their Switch 1 games asap since it also gives them a sales boost

$40 each?

$40 EACH? Are you fucking insane, Nintendo?

Dude. The fact that Bowser is, in real life, actively destroying Nintendo is honestly nuts.

The important thing is that they kept 'U R MR GAY' on the Mario Galaxy cover. Small things.

(For those who weren't about at the time, look at the letters which have stars attached to them)

No wonder Nintendo was so aggresive against rom sites, they'd rather sell the roms themselves.
With Mario galaxy on the switch, they did actually add a new control scheme. You can play the game with a gamepad which was worth the price of admission for me. They use gyro aiming in lieu of the wii mote.

What a steal...

I have to admit, when they were showing a camera swooping to the castle, I swore they were going to release a ground up, updated SM64.
Nope, more emulation of 10 year old games.

They should be adding Wii games to Nintendo Online, and they should be optionally purchases to own for $10 a piece along with GC.

$70 for 2 Wii games. 😂

Does anyone know if Galaxy 1 in the 3D All Stars pack will get a 4K update?

I'm genuinely surprised they're releasing Galaxy 2 on Switch. I previously said I didn't think they would, since Nintendo seemed to be avoiding having the player use emulated pointer controls during the core platforming gameplay.

Now it makes even less sense that Galaxy 2 wasn't included in 3D All Stars five years ago.

Still, I'm glad to have it on Switch.
I'm not understanding the argument, here. Galaxy 1 on Switch makes perfect sense but 2 doesn't? What am I missing?
