Based on your posts and you not playing any of the previous games, it seems like you're putting too much of an emphasis on the heists for this game.

I see it treading very traditional ground for the most part. Persona just comes across as very confident and different, but the gameplay itself is grounded.

Rather than say I expect any notable gameplay in terms of heists, I'd say it's more of a story and setting thing. I've picked up enough on GAF about this game to check my expectations, since there is somewhat of an established standard.

It was already confirmed by Adam Boyes at PSX that it was to be released on PS3 and PS4 this year. So anytime soon!!

Oh yes, I just hope some kind of variant since, like I said before, the Press Turn has the great advantage to speed battle so much if you are prepared with the right Personae BUT I was kiiiiind of getting bored with it.

But I guess that could be because I played A LOT of those games (I have two runs of each game and like 100 hours in each game)...

I know. I have a bunch of games to finish before: Sapphire, GTA V (PS4), Far Cry 4 (PS4), The Last of Us Remastered, The Order: 1886 (coming Feb 20th). I'll hop onto it the moment I finish the league in Sapphire, since my portable games are my way to spend some time when in the bus travelling to university.

If I had to bring up two negatives, it would be:

1. The music was okay. Didn't blow me away, and the guitar loop was a little basic and kind of annoying. Not bad, but just unexciting.

2. The Girl's cat-suit is dumb. I get it, but c'mon.

Like with everything, I'm cautiously optimistic. The themes are right up my alley and everything looks slick as hell. I also understand the few complaints that are rolling in, they're valid. I think once we see some more "day" stuff, people might feel more comfortable.

This E3 is just gonna have this Trailer but in English i assume. Also what's so bad about the cover stealth shown? It beats awkwardly standing behind a corner to hide yourself from the enemy in P4. It seems more like a useful tool to me.

I've never played a Persona game, is it like Shin Megami Tensei? Only played SMTIV.

Actually it's very different. Persona have bigger emphasis on character and more down-to-earth story (not Chaos Vs Law stuffs that SMT usually had). But perhaps P5 will have resemblance to SMT the most, namely to the lots of stuffs shown in the trailer are very SMT, like:

-Fighting demons instead of shadows
-Separated slot for guns and weapons
-Setting take place in Tokyo

I haven't played any Persona games so I wouldn't know unfortunately. Batcat just seemed out of nowhere, which isn't a bad thing necessarily since I'm quite accustomed to Randall Keith Orton. I'm in a horror mood these days, so I hope they do a good job of integrating some creepy aspects into this game. A lot of talk of demons in this thread so I imagine that shouldn't be too much of an issue.

This game's trailer kind of reminds me of the cancelled Black Tusk game in a very superficial way. The debut trailer of that a couple years ago also had a bit of a stylised look if i remember right, and it was supposedly about heists. I'd like more games along these lines. A bit more fantastical, but with this kind of big city setting.

It really is a shame that Microsoft put them on the next Gears of War.

Thanks for posting this Even tho I am a big persona fan, I do find the actions by some people embarrassing. Everyone has their own opinions and should be respected.

So looks like the gameplay change up a bit. Seems to have more emphasis on stealth? Also looks like the characters actually transform into personas or such? Levels may not be simple maze designs too, which good.

I'm all for a 4 person crew, similar to something like the older persona games where you couldn't switch teammates and you only had about 5 characters on a team. Gave each one of them a lot of depth and made them all feel very significant to all the events happening in the story.

I doubt it's gonna be like that, but a man could hope.

I hope so, but those sound lines coming off of him in that jail cell in the trailer makes me think he might not be. And the fact that he had shadow eyes at the end of the trailer makes me think he might have a shadow that talks...

I disliked Persona 4 but that trailer, that music, those UI, it looks incredible (actually that's something i also liked in P4G).
Gameplay i can't really say, all i saw was a guy walking inside corridors that now also feature another axis and strange dashes in a corridor. Reserving my judgement but i'm willing to give it a chance, if only for that cat. Oh and visually it looks pretty good too.
