HYPE LEVELS ARE SO HIGH and definitely agree that this is the best main character-kun design. The whole art style of the game is honestly the best in the series to date in my opinion. Seriously can't wait to share this magic bond with this game. GIVE US A RELEASE DATE ALREADY ATLUS!

I wonder if these two guys hold any importance?

I'm guessing they're gonna go for the creepy/micheivous loli twins trope. I bet one of them's a boy and one of them's a girl too, for extra tropeyness.

Yes, but someone who has not yet bought/played that game probably not recognize it as such.

And? It's not like it's impossible that someone reading this thread could be playing through for the first time. People play more than just one series of games y'know.

Me too bruh. I started the series late with golden and now it has to be my favorite series of all time. I have never been this excited for a game in my life.

I know! We are both so freakin excited for this. We are having a panic attack. You should see his face. omg omg omg

*breathes heavily*

You should marry that guy.

I am engaged to him. I asked him to marry me buhahah.

As a big fan of JRPGs, I'm ashamed to say Persona is that one series I just never got around to playing (everyone has one of these, right...?). There really is no reason, just time and circumstance. I certainly heard all the praise and had no reason to doubt any of it, but I was always playing something else or didn't otherwise have the time.

That said, this trailer has now skyrocketed Persona 5 toward the top of my most-anticipated list. It really does look terrific.

P3P's gameplay has slowly becoming too repetitive for me and really want to finish P3P before starting P4G. But I might just throw the towel in for P3P.. must experience this P4G hype asap.

P3P took me somewhere around a year and a half to get through as I found the gameplay insanely repetitive, and yet I ended up beating P4G within a month.

Overall I am really glad I stuck with P3P though, I would recommend sticking with it if you are a decent way in. The story definitely ramps up and going back to it after P4G would be super difficult.

This game seems to be going for the more wacky route. Hopefully it's still grounded, since that's what I liked best about the old games. The trailer makes it look like it's a full on modern anime now :'(

Go play Persona 4 before the game comes out. It'll hype you up even more and make the changes all the more meaningful :P

Damn, I'm digging the art style.

One thing that I absolutely LOVE that people are going to find weird is the menu design. Most games nowadays try to have the cleanest, most boring ass menus, going for a minimalist design. The problem is that they don't jell with the world that they're in, they feel cold and sterile while the rest of the environment design is all crazy.

Here, though, the menus are all colorful, off kilter, cell shading over the already cell shaded models in the background. They even show a little personality of the character that is being interacted with. I just love it, really shows they put effort in EVERY aspect of their game, not just the ones people are more likely to remember.

EDIT: This is what I'm talking about;
Supremely stylish.

It's just goddamn gorgeous, oozes style from EVERY angle and orifice.

I know! In case you guys didn't know, my fiance is Azula. He's taking a break because he needs to focus on his health. But we talked to an admin and closed out that account while he takes a break. And made me my account.

My name is Olivia. We are both so freakin excited for this. We are having a panic attack. You should see his face. omg omg omg

You guys must be super in love if you both like Persona that much lol

Yeah, who can forget the more grounded games with the magic canine, shooting yourself in the head to summon demons, white mage fox, eye glass wearing fetish, and the talking stuffed animal...

I'm always baffled by people who complain about things like this in any series, but persona especially... wow.

Game looks incredible. The more I watch the trailer, the more I feel I need to get a Persona fix. I have yet to touch my copy of Persona Q....I think its time?

The characters were grounded and you could relate to them. They acted like normal people instead of the wacky anime thing everyone does.

What i need is the trailer theme in my ipod nao!! And the link to mega doesn't work at work. Anyone has a mirror? :(

Edit. Nevermind, found it in youtube :P

I agree. I don't get it either.

Now MY fear (and I'm not really afraid since P4 nailed this with its tonal shift from P3) is that the game will go a bit over its own head with its own themes and not be able to convey them properly. I'm of the camp that P3 didn't nail 'memento mori' whereas I felt P4 nailed the idea of people obfuscating truths around them.
