When I expected gameplay footage, I honestly never expected it to look so damn good. This is not the beauty of polygons but of the art style. Imagine looking at all this in 1080p on your TV in real time.

BTW I am sure the combat is still turn based judging from this short snippet of gameplay.

That last one of Anzu is so good. Your fiancé is a gentleman and a scholar.

And it's a real place? I really, reeeeeeally need to visit Tokyo at some point in my life.

Yup, I've visited Shibuya a large number of times, but only went through the underground mall once or twice. I'm looking forward to seeing the other locales in the game.

Okay my fiance Azula just made a bunch of P5 avatars, told me to post them here:

Thank you for posting these! I call the All-Out Attack art for the protag. :)

And I hope they will let us control all party members. I don't want to go back to crappy AI-controller party members EVER AGAIN.

Yes, it's quite accurate. At least, from what I remember there from being there in 2010.

It's more because Atlus has a great recent track record as opposed to Square.
Not on consoles. I liked Square's last gen offerings and 15 shows the continued correcting of the ship that the XIII sequels offerd. This is Atlus' first HD jrpg. Id be more catious of them then Square.

I'm curious to see if they 'll do anything with online this time around. The polls in Catherine and SOS messages in P4G were pretty clever way of implementing network functionnality in what remained story-driven single player games.

That Gif crippled my browser.

All of the Persona games take place in the same universe.

The events of P2 split the persona universe in to two parallels, which is why in ps3 and 4 you fight shadows and not demons, but we clearly saw the party fighting demons in the trailer, so maybe this one takes place in the other branch.

quality wise no way. Persona 3 and 4 are some of the best jrpgs in gaming.

Great trailer. I'm interested to see how close the PS3 version will be to that trailer but I suppose by the time it comes out in English, I'll probably own a PS4 anyway.

Maybe I were lucky with my P3FES & P3P playthroughs but I didn't have any problems with the AI. Can't remember if it was off by default in P4 but if it was on by default then at somepoint I did change to manual. Order was P3FES -> P4 -> P3P.

I can't remember the last Atlus game I played that was straight up garbage, their track record is hella good ever since Persona 2/Soul Hackers. If anything SE has more to prove with FFXV than Atlus does with Persona 5. FFXIII left a very bad taste on a lot of people mouths, mine included.

That's basically what was commented here so far.

Thanks for the responses. RE: my ff15 I was joking, but I'm surprised to see action stuff in a Persona game. And that makes sense about Cooperation = Social Links.

That looks like the new "all-in clobberin' time" animation, so get ready to see that a thousand times during the game. ;D

The animation style to me has a bit of Cowboy Bebop flare to it, especially mixed with the bold graphic design.

Well...that was P1 and P2. What have the two most recent and successful games been like? They've had S.Links. They were never called S.Links in JON, they were called Community. There's no reason to think they won't be in the game.

I don't remember about "Community" to be honest, so I'll assume you're right. I'd love if they just drop the idea of social links. Seeing how the party is fighting against "demons" gives me P2 vibes.

I played through P3 on the Hardest setting with the AI and got through it fine every time. Gotta work with that Marin Karin. I twas a mini-game of its own, lol.

Why? They are relatable to a lot of people even if I don't like some of them... I actually find some similarities with Kanji in some issues that I had in my personal life and some of the social links remind me of a lot of people I know, especially the Old Lad of the Death Arcana in Persona 4.

I think that is impossible to have a cast of characters that all people in all cultures can relate in some form but they manage to create situations that are almost universal (Like the feeling of loss after the death of a person dear to one, the struggle when you find life boring and would do anything to make it better, etc)

I never related to a single character in P3 or 4 (or Catherine for that matter). Then again I'm part of a demographic the Persona Team hates so I may be a bit biased.

I kind of liked it. It gave each member another layer to their personality even if it was unintentional. For me Akihiko was someone I could always rely on.

Well, it wasn't so funny on the last boss.
When he basically healed himself after I fought him for almost 2 hours...
I'll have to admit that I was rather weak though, as I didn't grind as much as I needed to.
