Paragon of Decency: So I found some pictures of my boss.....

I thought this would be good for shits and giggles but goddamn if some of you don't take everything super seriously.

Glen just copy what I write below into a post then abandon the thread:

"You are right GAF, thank you for helping me understanding my error. It was wrong to look at personal pictures of my boss. It was even more wrong to consider using it as blackmail. I will try to make better decisions in the future and be a more ethical person."

Not to mention posting about it on a public message board.

Not my job to enforce the rules, but detective-GAF should probably cool it on digging up OP's info.

Yeah guys!
Give him the same respect he shows to his boss!

Nude pics of a dude, some pictures of feet, and dude's wife in lingerie.

C'mon OP, don't make him wish he'd taken it to Staples or Best Buy instead.

The fact that your immediate response was to mull over whether or not you should blackmail someone says a lot about your character OP.

Namely, your lack of it.

Why would you think of blackmailing him? Don't be a scumbag. You'll never be hired to handle (not so) sensitive information anymore because people will know you can't be trusted with that.

A couple of these threads have popped up on gaf and there is always a throwaway line in the OP saying " naturally my curiosity got the better of me and I looked. Theres the real problem, you really don't need to look. Exert some control. Some people respond by saying "Oh well everyone would". I really really wouldn't , I'd leave it be and so would a lot of other people.

Nah, he was just kidding! God, we take ourselves so SERIOUSLY around here!

Egg's on our face, guys!

I never once even had the urge to do this when I was fixing PCs. Something something be a decent human bean.
This

Plus if OP work is related to healthcare he would probably have to had signed a strict confidentiality agreement if he ever needed to work with patient info.

So pretty much fucked if he did the deed and gets caught

I don't care to dig further because I find it Internet detective play seedy unless done for a genuine cause. This is just an idiot who should probably be fired for betraying his boss's trust.

What OP needs to think about is the fact that his employer trusted him with access to personal information. This was about fixing up an old laptop for his son to use. That suggests a level of confidence that was betrayed not only the moment he started browsing a private pictures folder but especially when he decided to go online and brag about it, asking strangers if he should hang on to the files.

have you seriously been posting some of OP's personal info ?
because he posted a thread ?

you must think you're doing the right thing too...

But it said NUDE.jpg

I can't wait until he gets to TAINT

I think it's weird if it's an authority figure. I mean no one gives a shit if you see the slutty secretary naked but when it's a CEO... it's a bit weird.

Newsflash, CEOs are still human beings.

I don't want to destroy your whole world around you or something but guess what... You CEO still had to take a dump around once a day! Shocking I know!

Check his profile on NeoGAF, lazer_bean.

EDIT: Seems he has removed information since I last checked. I'll do the same. Hopefully OP will extend the same respect to his employer.

Dude, think. The CEO of the company you work at, an IT company, with more than one employee, would just give Joe 'Second Week' McGee a laptop that has nude images of him on it to clean up? And that he'd just happen to pop back in during the process? You think he knows he has files on it that he wants to keep, but forgot the fact that he has nude images of himself on the laptop. You think that just slipped his mind?

You've been set up. You failed the initiation. Look for a new job, because I'm sure your CEO is looking at NeoGAF and preparing your pink slip.

Why y'all trying to scare the man like that?

i only dump once per 3 days, sometimes more

my body is an efficient machine, my poop is perfectly shaped

I'm sorry but if you got pics just sittin' there called "nudee.jpg" or whatever, I'm gonna look at them.

The whole blackmailing thing is weird though.

yesterday our CEO asked me if I would mind taking an old laptop that he wanted to give to one of his sons and clean it up a bit...

I ask him if he wants me to backup any of his old files so he can copy them to his new laptop and of course he said yes. Now this is something I've done for people countless times, and I always respect their privacy and don't go snooping around in their folders...

I get to his pictures folder and... curiosity got the best of me and I couldn't help but click it. And there's our CEO standing base-ass naked in front of a mirror Anthony Weiner style... Then I see ton's of pictures of women's feet and even a folder full of photos of his wife in lingerie.

So... what do I do now? I make decent money so I don't feel like I should try and blackmail him into a raise or anything, but at the same time these definitely seem like they could possibly be useful some day.

OP has given enough info between his Twitter account and these 2 threads to make finding him on Linkedin very easy.

Depending upon his state, simply exceeding his charter to copy those personal files by drilling down into the folders and looking at the individual files themselves may be a felony. http://law.jrank.org/pages/11804/Computer-Crimes.html
