The thing that gets me is that there are people out there playing it right now. I feel like this could have released sooner, but the 20th was put in place already so they couldn't change it.

Do we know the nature of how these people are playing it early?

Someone could have taken it off the line at whatever factory/shipping place. Realistically, a game can probably be released digitally within a week of going Gold, but generally there's a day 1 patch to take care of any minor glitches.

I want to play it too but let's think about it. If we play the game earlier than many people in other regions do, it is very unfair when we all pay the same amount of money. So yeah, I would rather wait until it is released worldwide and then I play and enjoy it with everyone in this forum :D

I'm with you, I just wish the release date was sooner since it went gold a good amount of time ago. I'm just hyped guys and terrified of spoilers. I'm weary of any other sites besides neogaf, but sometimes people slip here too.

That's true and could you imagine if digital releases came earlier? I wonder what effect that would have in the game industry. I know it's been done with music, but I don't think it's been done in this industry before.

Not sure, haven't really tried figure it out for fear of spoilers. I think most of the streams from what I'm hearing were people from France.

I want the game to be released a bit sooner too. But I guess they will release it when it is truly ready. So I guess maybe they are working on patches or something. Whatever they do, I just hope that this game will have no technical issue at launch. I'm tired of the trend of broken games already and hopefully RaD will stop it.
 
I'm wondering if they really do need that much time now from going gold to release, there is far more production facility than there was with the PS3 in Bluray and JIT systems are far quicker now. Can anyone in retail chime in on stock numbers?

Guess I'm going digital to play it at midnight. Wouldn't be able to sleep anyway knowing you guys are playing and possibly posting screenshots/vids all night long. :P

We don't have it in at gamestop yet. I expect it in with the Evolve shipment.... or that following Tuesday.

I have personally sold about 8 PS4's all with the Order 1886 as a preorder today. This is going to be interesting.

I'm a numbers guy and really want to see how well this does considering I don't think they did a good job marketing it.

Well I have only seen one commercial for the game and that was before the superbowl since then all of the advertising I have seen has been online and in our gamestop store. I haven't seen anything for it at best buy. I have seen Evolve commercials for the last two weeks almost nonstop in comparison.

I've seen the commercial on Comedy Central yesterday, and I'm sure it's running on Spike and FX given those are the usual suspects in tv spots for games. I watch very little television, so the chances of me catching a rare ad is not good.

Fair enough, you probably notice it more doing what you do. Aside from TV adverts, the things like the ARG and new trailer ect are making for a hell of alot better stragety then the marketing push leading up to a few weeks ago.

Yes the interactive site was brilliant even though they dropped a major spoil. Hoping the Dynamic theme is the airship one.

Based on your experience/pre-orders -- do you expect it to sell fairly well?

And relative to Evolve?

To clarify the Order currently has more than double the PS4 SKU for evolve and more than the PS4 and XB1 SKU's combined. This is just gamestop numbers so I don't know if that trend holds true everywhere else.

XB1 Evolve pre orders passed PS4's in the last week or so but its damn close.
 
Yeah, The Order will most likely get a sequel at this point. I fully expect this to sell a million in the first week. I'm glad this will become an IP, theres a lot they can do with it.

The Order has been ahead of Evolve on Amazon the last couple of days.

It's one behind Evolve (PS4) on Amazon UK's best sellers, but that's not surprising given Amazon are charging £49 for the game. No idea why the price is so high for it here in the UK. Usually you can get next gen games for around the £40 mark, sometimes even less! I can honestly see the price in the UK holding a lot of people off on a purchase, especially for a game with no multiplayer. It needs to be cheaper.
 
Never understood the folks who thought the game was gonna bomb because of lackluster showings six months to a year before release.

Looks like Order is 28th us chart evolve xb1 47 and evolve ps4 49th that pretty much lines up with how it looks on our end.

Benchmarking against Evolve is... eh. I'm highly sceptical on Evolve doing well sales-wise.

Do we know how The Order tracks against other titles, like say Second Son or Sunset Overdrive? (Yeah, I know SSO likely sold poor all things said and done)
