Persona 5 New Trailer

it has a dark atmosphere, but nothing with the characters and situation is particularly dark, as opposed to the early events of P4

The progression of P3 is much darker than the opening of P4

Wha?

The game starts with from the perspective of a new player, a cutscene where you see Yukari pointing a gun at herself in an attempt to commit suicide. The MC walks past everyone frozen into coffins. First day arrives and during the first night of action there are folks melting into black goo while standing in pools of blood and all that

I dunno how that's not dark... >_>

People turning into coffins as opposed to hearing about murders on the television?

P4 only really gets dark by the end of Yosuke's scenario

Speaking of SMT spinoffs, I'd kill for a Souls-like game where the SMT demons are the enemies. Imagine having guys like Ikusa, Oni etc as regular enemies and guys like Beelzebub and Metatron as bosses!

Sounds like every time I take off my pants.

Anyway, not sure whether I want to buy myself a PS4 again for this, just buy the PS3 version instead, or wait it out in paranoia of a PC port a few months to a year later.

And the most disturbing part is that MC doesn't seem to mind the coffins or the massive blackout/electronics not working.
Also the first time he summons Orpheus is a bit "creepier" than its P4 counterpart.

its dark atmosphere, but it only takes like 10 minutes to find out that it wasnt suicide

still maybe its my interpretation requires things to be a bit more personal, macro versus micro n all that

Unfuurrtunately I've got this feline he has a different point of view.

The opening of P4 showed a dead body in an unusual position. A corpse is bad, but nothing compared to P3's opening.

There's also over one hundred pages, but luckily managed to find it quickly lol.

Here it is:

edit: lol didn't even notice the text in the gif

hahah dat text

I definitely see the game selling 1m WW. That might even the minimum at this point. There's momentum here they could really latch onto. Especially if the marketing is decent. One commercial aired at the right hour for the right audience could work wonders.

Gah I'm still hyped over the limit. Gotta do more fan art I guess.

I'm using the first one you made as my avatar on Twitter. Hope that's okay.

Awesome. I didn't expect them to show actual gameplay. Hopefully I can finish all the Persona games by the time this comes out. Still need to play 1, 2, and Q.

You ooze when you take your pants off? You might want to see a doctor.

Yeah. There's that too. =

Well, the very act of putting a gun to your head is scary for usually most people, so it's fairly dark in both respects.

Didn't think he liked Persona. lol

He's a closet weaboo masquerading a hardass. It is known. You'd be suprised how many people you don't know are open to this kind of thing because of what they saw in their childhoods(aka toonami and other mainstream stuff), its 'normal'.

The problem is getting people who never were introduced to these types of concepts on board, and i think Atlus has a chance now to get passed that aversion

Saw this posted to Lotus Juice's fan page on Facebook! :lol

Soulja boi is a pretty big gamer. I remember watch MTV cribs or something like that and he was showing off his white ps3 that he imported from Japan.

I also remember a bunch of people on YT would call him out on COD and he would make videos about it.

Lupe Fiasco also raps about manga.

It just makes me feel old, cause there are tons and tons of celebrities and sports players who are hardcore into anime/manga/games and came from the same generation i did getting into this kind of thing...who you would never know followed that sort of thing

I was reminded how Hashino mentioned inFamous: Second Son as his stand out 2014 game, citing how it had moral choices between good and bad that engaged the player. At the time, I stated how I was sure he specifically mentioned inFamous in that interview because of conceptual similarities it has to Persona 5:
About the interview above: Pretty sure the reason Hashino pinpointed inFamous: Second Son was because of some of its conceptual ties to Persona 5, which he reiterates in his answer to question 4 (about the "good" and the "bad" in a person).

This. I said this earlier in the thread, but people really overstate how "nichr" the series is. This stuff isn't dense; a ton of people would like it if they played it, they just don't know its out there. Atlus has a chance to change that.

Yeah, excatly. I've heard more "this looks amazing, but i've never played or even heard of persona until now, where should i start?" in the past 24 hours than i ever have.
