Alright. I watched that video cause I trust some of you that it is spoiler free and it is.

Holy fucking shit. I can't believe how amazing that looks. I think thats it for me though, I really don't need to see anymore. Just absolutely incredible how good this looks. RAD has raised the bar graphically. I'm seriously flabbergasted.

Goddamn.. So awesome it needs it own thread.

You should see the rest of the footage.

Something to consider: this footage looks like it's come straight form the PS4 Share function, it's 720p and pretty compressed with details missing. I know from posting several Driveclub videos through the Share function just how much sharp pristine detail gets lost and muddied over.

My god this game will look glorious on my (crappy) tv. CANNOT WAIT.

Why is this coming out on a Friday? And if they were going to choose Friday, why not Friday the 13th?

I wish more games released on Friday.

Tuesday releases suck cause I get to play them for maybe a couple hours then have to go to sleep for work the next day :(

Gonna blow through this in that first weekend!

Well you could always just not play a game until Friday and pretend it released then. lol

I just don't understand how it looks so good.

I guess that's what happens when you start building your engine (from almost scratch!) in 09-10ish.

Just imagine if any developer starting to build an engine from scratch in 2016 for next gen consoles in 2019/2020.

Games are going to look fucking insane.

That is hands down the best reload animation ever.....but Im wondering if its just a one time cinematic animation rather than general gameplay

Personal preference and all, but I like Resident Evil 4's a bit more. This one is very, very good too though.

Also, it's not a cinematic animation. Spoiler for early gameplay sequence:
This is part of the introduction where they're showing you weapons in
The Order's Quartermaster's offices
and you examine the weapon and press triangle to reload
. I'm not sure that it's going to be reused as the reload animation throughout the game, but it would make sense.

Well...not necessarily. For now RAD's very happy and comfortable the way they are, with no plans of acquisition. Regardless of their cooperation with Sony, they have a very independent mindset.

Similar to Quantic Dream then, no? I remember reading an interview with them and they said they love working with Sony and have no plans on changing their relationship.

Well I hope this goes really well for them. They look to have the talent to be a juggernaut in the industry.

I would love it if they created games for a wider audience. The order being on PC/X1 would be great for them. Seeing this game run on PCs, especially with the modding community out there, would be amazing.

Don't know why so many people want Sony to acquire them and have less people deprived of more games with unique settings like these has always baffled me.

I can't remember if it was that elaborate in the sniper segment I played. But the segment I played had an elaborate assembling animation for the same weapon. That looked just as good!

I could imagine a Naughty Dog situation for RAD. Owned by Sony but still largely an independent entity making what they want to make.

You know Sony is going to try, though. I mean, Christ, just look at this game! This has the hallmarks of a Sony 1st party studio if I ever saw one.

Get hyper-hyped folks. This in from Sony:

The graphics quality of the game is outstanding. And of course, that’s not the only reason we’re pushng the order as one of our main titles. We haven’t revealed much about the game, but when the game comes out on Feb 20, I think there will be nice surprises we can look forward to.

Wasn't Santa Monica Studio co-developing?

Yes you're right, i just saw that Santa Monica is co developing it, I didn't know, I used to think it was a RAD game published by Sony à la infamous at the time, Pardon me.

Is anyone know what part of the game Santa Monica studio has done for this game ?

I believe Shinobi has previously said that RAD developed and created the game entirely on their own. So whatever Santa Monica's involvement is, it is not represented in the game itself. Maybe just marketing assistance or something like helping create trailers?

Ahh now I know why I couldn't remember it. When the reload happens, the camera angle is behind Galahad's back. Wonder if we could spin it around to see if it's still there.
If every reload action looks as good as your gif then I imagine a lot of share buttons are very likely to be broken.

There is one from someone gracious enough to share with me. But my lips are sealed :(
Hmm, I wonder who that is :p

I don't think Sony acquiring Ready at Dawn is in the best interests of either party. At least not right now.

RAD is working on their dream project. They're not going anywhere else, since Sony owns the IP. Sony isn't about to pony up big bucks to buy a studio that 's going to remain PS-exclusive for the foreseeable future regardless.
