Welcome to the Black Culture Thread. This community is focused on the discussion and experience of daily life for minorities. GAF is a rather large forum, and these unique experiences can get lost in the noise. But while this thread was created to ensure certain topics relevant to the black community could be discussed reasonably, people of all skin color and walks of life are welcome. It's a community thread, so it can be intimidating for newcomers to jump in considering all the in-jokes and general cadence of the thread. If you are unfamiliar with anything, ask. We are always looking for more decent folks to bring into the family.

If you could do me a favor, post any relevant links to articles or definitions that you think should be in the OP for the edification of any people unfamiliar with black culture, racism, etc. I started with good recent threads/posts made on this forum, but the resource section could stand to be bolstered. Considerably.

I'm glad you've been making those posts man lol. I knew about the fall off back around 2008 or so but I don't really think I weighed things properly when I was considering hopping back into school for a journalism degree. Not to say that I'm dissuaded or anything but I'm starting to line up my interests with what I want to do (and what I'm able to deal with) better because of it.

Hell, I'm actually thinking of film school

"That boy loves his disney" -Slayven 2014. Nah but he has like seven blogs, four tumblrs, three livejournal accounts all dedicated to Disney or Kingdom Hearts and KH inspired magical girl stuff. He may love Disney more than Slayven loves white women.

lmao oh god, I should prob do something at some point. I had a good run towards the end of last year then shit went south again real quick with some deaths in the family so I dipped out of doing pretty much anything. No one wants to watch someone not having fun lol

Like, Molyneux needed some of those questions. Lord knows the man has done some wrong. But there's a way to ask those questions without being so... vindictive.

Walker had an hour with a completely open veteran dev currently working in the industry, potentially without a PR person around. That's unheard of. It's mythical unicorn. It deserved a better interview. He could've dropped a few questions and retained the solid core of it.

Any other industry folks would kill for that. You can be hard and not be an asshole. John Stewart does it all the time.

I don't know much about journalism, but I do know one rule that gets thrown around "if the story becomes about you, then you have failed". A lot of gaming journalist fails on that.

Whats Molyneux biggest sin? Promising the moon and delivering a mediocre game? Folks act like he sold baby food with lead in it or defective brakes. People take games too personal. Devs and Pubs are not your friend
 
Looking at OT1, man the difference is night and day between then and now.

It started off by a nice introduction to BCT and people introducing themselves and whatnot... now, it's just who didn't get banned yet and a post about small dicks by a coli member. Yall went from being shit in yalls lives, to a whole bunch of aint shit ass niggas... lmao
