What is your body idol, and how close are you to it?

I'm not there, and I'm way hairier. But that's the body I'd want.

Probably another year or two, no idea really how long it'll take.

This,

I'm lean myself with a good bit of muscle but would love to have abs like that.

Yep something like these. More-so the BP ones. I'm not fat but I'm no longer as close as I used to be. Need to get rid of this inflammation in my sternum before I could go back to working the body parts that need working.

I would love to have this body, but my slim frame isn't anywhere near his (wide frame) so it won't work. But one can dream:

If we're just comparing those pics, you look better than Adam Levine. You have a great base already, I'm sure you can do it if you want it enough. As for me, I was down to 11% body fat a few years ago. But I looked nothing like you in that picture. Dat lack of muscle :(

Joe-Maganiello-June-2014-BellaNaija.com_.jpg

It's hard to say how close I am because I'm still quite overweight (I'd have to lose around 55-60 pounds to get to the bodyfat % he is in that pic), but it wouldn't surprise me if I looked pretty much like that right now if I shed the fat. The biggest difference would be the biceps, which I still need to work on. My shoulders/chest/traps are pretty comparable already after ~7 months of lifting, and I'm reasonably certain I have a good set of abs underneath the fat since I can feel the grooves between the abs even now, and can see the line between the top pair of abs despite being 55+ pounds overweight (6'1"/265 currently).

Just going by the study I posted. Would prefer that dude over Brad, myself.

Well the one nice thing about it is that I'm way closer to that look than the other one. :D

Then I say go for it. But keep your expectations in check. He is prolly enhanced but I don't know for sure. Just my thoughts on it.

No way near it. Can't even for the life of me figure out how to create a proper diet.

It's all very confusing :(

Just need to finish my diet and I'll hopefully be there.

And I don't know if either are you are aware, but those two were enhanced as well. Nothing wrong with having them as a goal, just keep that in mind.

Idris Elba.

How close am I?

Not very, similar look and frame, I just carry way too much weight, mission to lose it in 2015.

Really? While I think his physique is impressive, it doesn't look like something that couldn't be done naturally. May take a good while, sure, but seems totally reasonable.

As a male, I'm a fan of lean defined bodies, besides Brad Pitt's body in Fight Club/Snatch, some examples that inspire me to keep working out:

The average football player's body is damn great too:

Where am I at this moment? I already have the definition but I still need to add more mass. I'm a hard gainer so it's difficult, but I'm making progress.

Honestly. I'd love a figure like this. But I've got too much weight on me, and I'd need HRT... but one day... I hope.
Oh yay, I'm not the only person in this thread who doesn't want to be a big macho muscular guy. ~.~;

I don't quite want to be... anywhere near that curvy. But I'm glad I'm not alone in some ways!

Lee Byung Hun...

At first I thought it was this guy;

Sexyama is his nick name in Japan. Besides Ronda, this guy is one of the few people to really hit off Judo techniques in high level MMA. You might not think that is a big deal, but it is,:P
He has a strange love handles. I have that permanent fat as well. It just won't go off no matter how much I cardio!

Some other fighters;

Pablo Popovitch

Andre Galvao

Palhares

But I wonder if some of these guys have used roids!? I know you can't just look at their abnormally large chins because some people really just have those, but them all being Brazillians, and Brazillians eating roids like candy, I mean. Particularly Pablo looks unreal. They are great grapplers, but I think atheletes looking like that... it's crazy. Even with all the advancements in nutrition, they just look completely different from grapplers and fighters from yesteryear.

I would also really like to look like Bou from An Cafe. He's so adorable!
VY0DyMi.jpg

While Drossel von Flugel is a little more robotic and curvy than I want to look. I am a transhumanist and I take a lot of inspiration from how she looks.
3YgZNAI.png

I want to be at least a little bit robotic, someday.

And I love Daisy's upper body in this picture and would love to have a body type just like it!
Her hips are wider than I want to have, though.

And Lilith Aensland has been my body idol since I first played Darkstalkers.
pKuxd87.png

Except for her wide hips. I don't want wide hips like hers.

It's too bad she wasn't an important character and was just a part of Morrigan...

I also take inspiration from Saya from DoDonPachi. Though not as much as Hina.
qMmDdJe.jpg

Just like Hina, she's feminine and cute, without being very curvy. Though she's a little more curvy than I would like to be.

Hizaki doesn't quite have the face I would like to have. But I would love to have his body type!

I-Is my picture of Princess Daisy problematic? I know it's kind of skin tight and I'll remove it if it's offensive.

I-I tried to remove all of the pictures that might be offensive to people. ._.
M-Maybe they're all offensive to people.. except for Bou and Hizaki.

Are anime characters realistic, though? The proportions aren't realistic at all.

Why not post real people? Instead of wacky anime character styled characters?

Umm... which.. proportions?

Well, I'm a big anime fan and I take a lot of inspiration from lots of anime characters.
And also it seems very rare when real people have the body type I would like to have..

I have a hard time finding examples of real people. ^^;;

Baikal when you say, you're a transhumanist does it mean you want to more robotic and/or artifical than a person?

I want to look more like a person, but somewhere between the two.

I'm not sure how far I'll go exactly, because the technology doesn't exist yet.

A lot more realistic than Drossel von Flugel and a little more artificial than Hina from DoDonPachi is what I'd like to look like and be like.
In terms... of what my body would be... I wouldn't miss most of my biology... so... I guess it depends on the technology.
I want enhancements and augmentations with the most advantages.

If the technology was there, would you then be willing to replace parts of your body with artifical limbs? And do you want this for the way it looks or for the transhumans or super human abillities?

When I look at the tech they're doing with artificial limbs for wounded soldiers, I wonder how long it will be before their artificial legs will be much better than having regular ones.

I want it for the abilities. Though I don't mind some artificial looks.

I would like to look a little futuristic. But I also like cute human aesthetics.

I would definitely be willing to replace parts of my body. Depending on the advantages. I do want to preserve my genetic material, though. I think someday in the future I'll get biotechnology enhancements and genetic upgrades. And also more traditional machine-like parts.
Though I don't know what the future holds.

Ideally I want a rock climber/semi-fitness body. I love the toned, active look.

I'm kind of there. I have toned-looking arms and back (not entirely sure why), but I'm mostly just skinny and have very little real muscle. Gonna have to get off my ass this year. :P

Doing some heavy compound lifting might help. My wife has made some really nice progress to look closer to your examples from squatting, benching and deadlifting.

I've always thought Wendler looks really good here.

All tips accepted with delight! Are those exercises I can do without a gym? I'm cool with jimmy-ing up a broom outfitted with water gallons on either side if I have to. :)

And I've been doing my daily squats, but I've been told adding weight to those would give better results than just upping the repetitions. True?

The 'Wendler' look also seems really popular with guys on GAF. Had no idea so many men held that as their ideal. Very interesting.

Yyou should try to increase weight. If you aren't doing them at a gym, look into goblet squats or assisted pistol squats
