Hana to Alice (DOUMAN Seiman) 1
I can already tell that this is going to be awesome!

Nanatsu no Taiza 114

Oh wow Gowther.
Author didn't waste any time to throw the seven deadly sin into action right away.

Hana to Alice ch1 by Dowman Sayman

An adaptation of an upcoming movie, eh? Generally it's the reverse that happens. Looks interesting, and more Dowman Sayman is always a treat.

Never heard of this manga before, Shounen yo guitar wo idake, but it's recommended by Kawatani Enon from indigo la End/Gesu No Kiwami Otome so it might be cool. 4 volumes only.

Well, admittedly it is pretty blatant, but I personally didn't find it as "in-your-face" as others works. I am no expert at analyzing propaganda though.
It is literally a comic about nationalism. The whole story is about creating a better Japan, it's not trying to trick you lol

The other thing I don't get is people complaining about the protagonists being too perfect. Sanctuary is supposed to be allegorical, not something you invest yourself in with the characters.
The main dudes aren't some random slice-of-life reader inserts, they're the heroes of a myth.

You're right about the first part.

As for the second part, I guess it's because it makes things boring? Even though the manga is supposed to be taken as a myth, it's hard to care about such idealized characters, and by extension, their struggles.

I do think that's part of why the ending works so well. Everything they do is perfect until then.

Yeah, true. The ending is just perfect.

Yugami-kun ni wa Tomodachi ga Inai 9
Well, i can't argue with Yugami points, despite him being a dick toward his teammates.
At the very least, he trust his catcher batting skills.

Eh, I disagree. There are some pretty good yuri works that breaks the norm, and really, you could label the entire romance genre with these two categories.

The nichome point is a good one, and you're right about it (Morishima Akiko also talks about it I think?), but really I don't consider Takemiya Jin a bad author or anything. Even though a lot of her works tend to be overdone thematically, they still remain enjoyable reads.
There's very little yuri that exists in the middle, other than the stand out manga that have already been mentioned. It's either taken for granted that you can be queer, eg Sakura Trick, or it becomes a source of incredible angst, eg Citrus. It's not often that you find stuff that's in the middle, where there's a recognition of a queer culture without the closet anxiety that usually comes with it.
I like Takemiya because a lot of her work fits in that middle ground, particularly Love Fragments. I suppose it helps that she's prolific enough that I remember her anyway!

Yeah, I agree, there's a distinct lack of middle ground concerning the yuri itself in the genre. I still find that a big chunk of Takemiya Jin's works falls on either side of the spectrum, but as you said a good amount of her stories are far more interesting and avoid that trap. Really, I don't find her to be a bad author by any means, just that a lot of her stuff can be hit or miss for me.

Keijo!! 19

Nozomi is a good friend lool

Also i expected as much but is that really the reason and if so what made it go that far (to where she basically fucks everyone over). Also given ring girl's appearance and the mark Miyata had on her face i guess even now its not forgotten.

Just for tonight and probably gonna stop soon because of sleep.

Prison School - Chapter 21

Gakuto. You were a bro a few chapters ago and you're even more bro this chapter. ;_;

Gakuto is the real MVP, you've only scratched the surface of this manga Shouta. Soon you shall be part of an elite and enlightened group who know of Prison School's glory. All hail Hana, underground and
aboveground
Prez's.

No :lol
I wish there were more manga about music (especially rock)...

Just read Beck and Hallelujah Overdrive. Also the Devil's Blues I think is what its called, same person from Prison School but complete 180 on story.

Caught up to the Parasyte Anime

now to read the manga and see if it is any different....... there was that old man robot series that is somewhat similar to this of course I can guess that the former is older

9000 yen (roughly 75 bucks) for all 15 vols of Prison School. Plus shipping probably gonna put it at like 6-7 a vol maybe. Still cheaper than buying it at Kino, lol

Man that's cheap.

I should buy more directly from Japan but when I see it at Kino's right there.

Sometimes I forget how inexpensive manga are in Japan. Looking at the prices on Amazon Japan, 432 yen for a One Piece volume, Jesus.
That's like 3 euros. A French volume costs around 7 euros.

Isn't the material cheaper? I remember browsing Bookoff when I was younger and the Japanese tankos were not only smaller, but the paper was thinner as well.

They're a bit smaller yeah. Not sure about the paper, I should check again.
But hey, the quality is good enough for something that cheap.

I got all of Ippo for 116 United states dollars. Best purchase of my life.

Books are smaller but the paper is decent enough for reading. The big thing with them is the it's bound. It's less likely to fall apart the longer you have the. I've got 20+ year old manga that are still in great condition despite heavy reading. Only downside is a bit of discoloring in the paper.

For reference, I picked up all of HxH that was available at the time when I left Japan. That only costed m like 120 bucks or so, I think? Worth it having brand new volumes of it. =O

That reminds me, kind of cool that the One Piece PS4 tried to replicate that discoloring look http://gematsu.com/2015/02/one-piece-pirate-warriors-3-fourth-trailer-ps4-model-announced-japan

Although I guess that's more of the color of the actual Jump magazine.
