Stupid character poses/animations

If by "stupid" you mean "the best" then this.

Dude, this is awesome. You put this in the wrong thread.

Wait, what? someone actually likes the bro-fist in halo 5?

I guess they focused tested it though so I guess i shouldnt be surprised

I find it real douchy, it just screams "yeah I am a man and i am so cool"

Because of the Hi-fives? And the other one who is clearly just taunting?

I'm impressed.

More Japan bashing unfortunately, but this sort of acting/animation:

It's cultural differences, of course, but I've never got on with the exaggeration in gestures.
Like with above, her act of bravery could be presented easily through expression alone. Instead it reads like "I must...be STRONG!"

This drives me nuts too. Japanese idol "dancing" is more like swinging from one cutesy gesture to another:

(best example I can find right now, but youtube vids show it too)

And yeah, to another poster who said it well. It seems like anime culture is influencing real life Japanese culture and it filters right back into anime.

But I'm also hard-pressed to tell you which FF heroin doesn't do that "necklace clench" or the "prayings hands" gesture thing at least in ONE moment or photo.

The Dinner Dance from Infinite Undiscovery.

I love that the big dude joins the little dudes in the same dance. GOLDEN MOMENT

If they toned down the breasts, got rid of the pumps, removed the flesh windows or significantly scaled them back, made her hair any color but silvery white, and got rid of the fox ears and tail, and this would be an OK design. Maybe give her red hair to go with the fox theme. The fox-themed catsuit ninja thing they're going for could be cool, but not like this.

They're not even fox ears and tail... she just...dresses like that. Complete with those FF7 Aeris'-like bangs.

I don't think that part of this niche product has that much influence on the broad Japanese culture.

What exactly is supposed to be cutesy about that Perfume gif? There are definitely a lot of cutesy Jpop groups, but Perfume really doesn't fall under that label. Their dance routines are typically robotic in nature to match the type of music they make.

I don't know. I don't think it's that ridiculous that they make them pose like that. A lot of television and fiction (video games included) often employ exaggerated poses as an art style because its more recognizable. Take Rastamouse for example. Zoomer's signature pose can be called "ridiculous" but truth is that it makes him instantly recognizable out of the three mice.

Idol culture feeds off of anime and anime feeds off of idol culture.

It's a chicken-egg thing.

Seriously?

It fits the tone and tenor of Halo multiplayer matches perfectly.

It's also a way to show off your Spartan both to yourself and the opposing team.

I literally hadn't seen that animation before this thread (I don't have a Bone presently) but that's one of the best things I've seen out of 343i.

I just googled indiscriminately, I don't know a thing about Perfume beyond what I kinda see across a number of Idol groups.

All I meant was the use of really strong hand gestures seems... kinda distinctly Japanese (and obviously a very cultural thing). It's not a bad thing, I just find it interesting when it starts popping up in games or on Japanese television (let alone songs).

I REALLY liked the way they used this pose for the "Combo Finished" pose in Generations.

That's actually really cool (I like the artwork too, love the static but very circular and in-motion pose)

Calls other people douchy for having fun and enjoying some celebration... huh...

What do you have against fox girls and breasts!?

Really though as the other guy stated your just completely changing the design. I could see some revisions but I wouldn't call it a bad design.

Just an FYI, traditionally Japanese people danced with a large emphasis on their hands. You can see that within traditional dances and in Kabuki, they exaggerate motions within their arms and hands to express the gesture. Their footwork isn't as emphasized (it is still there of course) like compared to some European folk dances. And some of this is carried over today in how idols still use exaggerated hand gestures but of course much more evolved and modernized since music and dance is pretty different today. Of course someone better can explain or go into more detail than me, the only reason I know this tidbit is because of a combination of wikipedia and watching a video about dancing japanese robots and how they tried to emphasize hand gestures....

edit: Have a japanese folk dancing robot! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqTWmbVWbXI

BioWare in general has had some terrible animation. It's not just the female Shep animation that's bad, but the Anderson running animation is fucking atrocious too. And hell, so is the male Shep one:

Their crummy animation and model posing is most of what makes their sex scenes so ridiculously cringe worthy.

Walking in Tekken.
Ryu/Ken/Akuma walking animation in SFA (or any game that uses those sprites).
Athena Asamiya idle stance, specially in KOF 2003.
Mortal Kombat, when Kitana/Mileena/Jade arecrouching, they do it like if they are doing squats.
Raiden in MK3 (he is dancing like Athena in KOF)
Kitana in MKX, she is just showing off her butt.
probably most Mortal Komobat animations.
Patroklos in Soul Calibur 5, way to leave yourself open.
Bowser running animation in Melee and Brawl. What's going on?

She doesn't look cross.eyed to me,the second pic I think she is looking at whats below her, maybe a Goomba who is about to be squashed.

Raiden isn't in MK3 :(
