A group of people lost a bet (I forgot exactly what) so a number of the losers agreed to have the avatar until April 1st. I believe the avatar is the avatar of the winner. I don't have the link to the thread where it went down unfortunately.

ahh thanks, I thought I was going crazy for a while

Is there a way to play a specific chapter in TLOU Remastered?
There should be a chapter select function. Not sure if it unlocks after beating the game or not though. Funny anecdote: Among trophy hunters, it is recommended that this chapter select is actually used in reverse! That is, playing the game backwards, one chapter at a time from the last chapter to the second to last, and so on. This makes the most difficult difficulty settings laughably easy in comparison to playing the game normally :lol I've tried it and it definitely works (has to do with ammo supplies primarily).

Why are so many people using this avatar? Is this a statement?

Or is that just one person posting in a ton of threads?

I keep seeing this dude everywhere I go

Is this some type of malware or is it something legit that I've never noticed before. When I put the mouse over it, it says Stat a conversation. Please help. Thanks!

Is there any way to stop my computer from switching it's keyboard setting from United States-International to United States? It's really annoying when practicing my Spanish and having to switch back to US International because my computer went back to regular US keyboard.

I got a Blue Yeti microphone recently and it started to hiss every time I record. One of the suggestions was to get a powered usb hub and plug the microphone in it. Though usually those are powered by a power outlet, not the pc like most usb slots.
Wouldn't plugging it in the powered usb not able to connect to the pc and only to the powered usb? I'm not exactly sure how a powered usb can let the pc recognize devices in it.

It only powers the USB devices, the data connection still goes to the PC or whatever else device you connect the hub to.

I'm looking for a classic GAF thread, where the OP was obviously wasted or on painkillers or something and was just posting absolute nonsense. Anyone remember it, have the link?

I think I know the one you mean. If it's the one I'm thinking of, I was just looking at it the other day. I'll check my Internet history when I'm home this evening to see if I can find it for you.

How do shows film episodes? Do they do it an episode at a time or fill multiple episodes worth in one location before moving to the next? I assume it varies since some shows have multiple directors across episodes but it must be expensive going to the same set multiple times for each episode, especially if one episode leads directly to the next.

The only show I can speak to specifically is Community, where they shoot each episode one at a time. Though it is one of those shows that will have different directors for different episodes so I have no idea how it works for shows where that isn't the case. Oftentimes, from what I've read about Community behind-the-scenes, they only have finished scripts for one or two episodes ahead of the episode they are currently filming, if that. So shooting multiple episodes at once wouldn't be feasible even if they did stick to one director. Interesting question.

I was thinking about shows like Game of Thrones where one episode contains scenes filmed literally across the world. I guess in that case the entire season is written out before production begins and directors cycle in and out, filming all their episodes' scenes that take place in an area before flying off.

Yeah even when I was typing my response I was wondering about HBO shows where new seasons can start basically whenever they are ready and showrunners/writers/etc aren't so beholden to a network weekly schedule.

Two of my favourite songs are "Piano Man" and "Mr. Tambourine Man."

The lyrics to the first one go "Sing us a song, you're the piano man"
The lyrics to the second one go "Hey mr. tambourine man, play a song for me."

Based on this pattern of songs about telling people to play their instrument, what else would I like?

On the gaf mobile site how do you get to the first unread post in a subscribed thread? Or is going to the last page of a subbed thread your only option?

You can tap the > on the right hand side. Go into preferences and you can change it so the > will take you to either the last page or first unread post. I think it's set to last page by default. And this setting is for all threads, subbed and non-subbed.

I feel like I am posting an awful lot in this thread, but why has everyone's avatar disappeared?
I only see "Martian's Avatar", but no picture

How is the ico port in the Shadow of the Collosus & Ico HD collection on PS3? Is it a better experience than PS2?

I never played ico.

This is an uncaptioned pic that appeared on a local news site today. The story was about shoppers shifting from budget brands to designer brands.
My question is - what is the yellow thing in the wallet? I can't work it out.

For the most part it's a better experience, although the higher frame rate kinda breaks SotC physics from time to time, where Wander has a bit too much reaction to the colossi movements. It's easier to beat the time attacks in the PS2 version of SotC but they are not impossible in the PS3 version, just more frustrating than they needed to be. The only difference is that the ending cutscene has a squirrel in the foreground, this squirrel was removed from the American version for... some reason. I dunno.
ICO is amazing in the HD port, and they brought over the content that was missing in the American release. It's not as visually stunning as SotC but it's still nice in HD.

The disc also comes with some bonus features which are basically behind-the-scenes videos.

Thanks for the info. I'll buy it then.

I have a queen size mattress with one side a pillow top and the other side is just .. underside. Would it be a problem if I flipped the mattress upside down to lay on the underside?

(note: I only ask cause I have a particular side of the bed I like to lay on and even though I occasionally rotate the bed clockwise the two places I can lay on are getting pretty big indentations)

I have the same kind of mattress and I can't imagine this would be comfortable. There's literally zero cushion on the other side--way less than the top of a regular mattress--and putting the pillow side on the bottom can't be good for support.

I want to update my list in the Neogaf Anticipation Index, but the last two replies were my own, what's the ruling on triple posts in a thread of that nature?

Girlfriend and I have been playing City Folk lately on the Wii-U when we noticed in the daily accomplishments that a game we owned was being played that neither of us has played it recently. We've been playing nothing in the Wii Mode but Animal Crossing: City Folk for the past two or so weeks. Starting two days ago, Harvest Moon: Animal Parade has shown up in the accomplishments along with Animal Crossing. There's even activity recorded for tomorrow for Harvest Moon.

Am I missing something here? I never really checked the daily reports before till now, not even when I had a Wii. Is it just reading activity from last year? It's possible we could've played Harvest Moon around this time last year, I suppose. I'm pretty sure we didn't have the incorrect year set then. Baffled.

Just hope a ghost hasn't been harvesting crops while we're sleeping.

Alright so I saw this yesterday but couldn't get the name of it. It's a German music video that is basically the scene in Ray Charles' shop in the Blues Brothers. The song is different from the one that plays in that scene but goddamn it I've been trying to find it and just haven't been able to. Anybody know what it is?

A (female) friend just texted me "You should come to snag at my place"

I am not familiar with trendy terms, and Urban Dic is giving me mixed answers

Don't, please don't troll me GAF, honestly help me, what does "snag" in this context mean?

Edit: Ugh nevermind...
