You mean like...

I am the ultimate evil, complete with hot and cold running water.
Answer me this! Why do all of you get the pizza while I get the crust?!
- lines spoken by ultimate evil Apocalymon

Whoa, that's the strangest thing I've seen since my Ethernet configuration collapsed.
- line spoken by someone who is supposed to be a computer genius

(I love the bad jokes, lol)

Yeah. I guess they're less of puns and just bad jokes in general. Apocalymon had a bunch of great bad ones. Still my favourite that I laugh at every time:
HAHAHA... Why am I laughing? I'm supposed to be depressed!

Gatomon has at least three in the first episode of 02 alone. References to how rough it was on the chicken that laid the Digi-Egg, the Emperor making them punch a timeclock, and the dark rings being collars that don't get rid of fleas.

"Themed" digimon get most of the puns, which is why Gatomon's loaded with a bunch of cat puns.

I'm pretty sure she says "puuuurfect" multiple times, which is the cat pun bottom of the barrel.

I wouldn't be able to give an exact rundown unless I watch it again, but it suffers from the usual dub problems of talkiness and refusing to stay silent. Except, while this is arguably fine normally (I won't fault people for liking the dub more), it clashes with what this episode is about.

Here are the general script changes.

Fairly similar, but yeah the original made it a lot more touching and deep. The dub... well, tried at least, but the dub is not a fan of keeping in the deep moments. Apocalymon's emo moments don't count :/ *shudder*

Couldn't agree more! Tamers was my all time favorite season of digital. I wish we could get a sequel season to that as well.

Can't post this enough -

I always thought it was a great piece of fanart. However, I think Tamers should be left as is. As much as I would love my favorites series to go on an on, especially if it's really good, it has to end WELL. So many shows too (anime and live-action) have ended so poorly and disappointing. Have a good ending and leaving it there is the best way to go. (At least Better Call Saul is a great successor to Breaking Bad, in that regard).

It feels like a GAF thread which would be loaded with puns depending on what the op is about lol.

As for the dub of the Ken episode, yes it has the usual dub problems but I feel they did an adequate job of it (though it's not as good as the JP version of the episode. Similar to how the JP ep of 13 is better than the EN counter part).

In both JP and EN versions of the episode, it makes you feel for Ken which helps his character a lot after all the 'evil' he's done.

Btw I don't know how many of you have read Digimon fanfics (I read them >_> don't shoot me) but one thing that annoys me is so many authors seem to write Ken as always being a genius even though the show explicitly says (I believe) that his genius came from the Dark Spore thing and once he became 'normal' again, he didn't have said genius.

Did a lot of people really not get that part and how the Dark Spore was the main cause of his smarts?

I tried watching the Xros Wars dub (Fusion). It was dreadful. Replaced soundtrack, lull destruction to have more annoying jokes, name changes, it's like Saban Brands has completely ignored the last several years of anime localization and gave us the type of dub that dub-haters would point to as "evidence" that all dubs suck.

Yeah, I know these were problems with the Adventure dub, but let's be honest, that dub has noooot aged well. At least there, it can be excused that the dub was being produced while the show was still airing in Japan.
Here though, Fusion started airing THREE YEARS after Xros Wars did. What the hell?

I used to write them >_> The only fanfics I ever did way back in my young'n days. I think I did a Kenshin-esque Digimon one once. I still have them all saved, but too embarrassed to back and read them >_>

Considering Ken, I think he can still be seen as a smart kid, but nowhere near genius-level. And yeah Oikawa did explain that the spore was what gave him the spark of intelligence. He wanted to be like his smart big bro, so it amplified that wish.

Haha, I don't think anyone doubts he isn't smart but I see so many people use the term "Genius" like he was always that.

As sad as it was, the whole thing about his brother really added to Kens character along with his parents. It was all well done. Wonder if they will do anything like that this series (I mean first series has lots of stuff like adoption, divorce, etc while 02 had Kens brother stuff so yeah)

Yeah, I'm curious what their personal conflicts will be.

Tai had his guilt over sending Kari to the hospital, letting the group divide with his absence, and forcing Greymon to digivolve.

Matt had his issues with the divorce, not being the big brother TK needed, his butting heads with Tai on the direction of the group.

But we already know this stuff. They're not mysteries. Izzy is a well rounded person and accepting of his adoption, Sora understands her mother's love, TK and Kari are grown up enough to take care of themselves and don't have to live under their brothers' protection, Joe has come to terms with what he wants to do and his role in the group, and Mimi is going to be Mimi. But then again a lot can change in three years, and IIRC, it's been said that the group has divided again, so maybe there's some drama there.

OMG, this wait for more information is stupid. Just open the damn flood gates.

On a side-note, I really hope they take pursuing the orignial VAs for the dub seriously...it's going to sound awfully jarring if the originals aren't there.

A good example of that is when they found some random guy to play Tai for the revenge of diaboromon movie instead of joshua seth...all I could think the first time I watched it was '...that's not Tai'.

Please bring them all back! ...except maybe Joe, his VA might be easily replicated.

They brought most of the original Rookie level Digimon voice actors back for All-Star Rumble (lol) so there's some hope.

I am kind of sad that they didn't make Ken a lead character in this season. Unlike Dai/Miya/Iori, he is a chosen child and is a crest holder. So Wormmon can achieve perfect and ultimate levels of evolutions without Jogress.

Out of all the things 02 that should carry on in Tri, its Ken and Wormmon.

I'll confidentially say that Jenrya and Ruki are up there in the echelon of the best Digimon human characters of all time.

I'll definitely say that Ruki was my favorite character of tamers, but nothing in digimon lore in regards to humans, beats tk and kari's chemistry.

I just want them to acknowledge Willis in some form. Dude comes in with one of the best digimon and then is never seen again.

I want mah Terriermon thx.

Joshua Seth has stated his intrest in coming back and if it works out then grerat.

That said when Gash Bell's dub premired, everyone was convinced he had come back to do Kiyo when it was Jason Spisak (Who would eventualy come back to do Tai in the movies).

And, yes, the blue balling is a parctiualy fun tactic of Toei's that they like to employ on shows that aren't precure.

Everyone remember the two years they said fuck all about Sailor Moon Crystal even at events where Sailor Moon Crystal was supposed to be a thing they were talking about? Good times (he lied)

He really is great. I just say Willis because he's the known partner for Terriermon.

Is that name Henry? If so, yeah his Terriermon is better but I still like Willis's enough.

Yup. Kinda unfair cause the former was featured in an entire season, but his troll-ish nature gets me every time. He might be my favorite Digimon partner ever.

I've never really enjoyed Hurricane Touchdown! I found it too drawn out and slow paced and the OST for it is... ehhhhhh.... :/

Hosoda come back I miss you :( A Hododa Tri movie would be amazing though!

Jenrya's Terriermon > Willis's Terriermon.

Indeed, Tamers Terriermon is legit.

I'd rather see Willis than Miyako or Daisuke. (Hmmm, but I like V-mon...)

Let's just pretend Miyako was Willis the whole time.

Hurricane Touchdown is awful and makes no sense, but cool animation and Terriermon make it better.

Tis a beauty. I bet the blu-ray release is drop dead gorgeous.

It's already been uploaded and I picked it up. It's... not bad, but I think it's a step down from the first two, even in blu ray quality. A neat thing the uploader did was add the DVD audio to it. I grabbed Our War Game too, and the audio is just... yeesh... Apparently the quality didn't translate over from the DVD release or something like that :/

Oh man that is terrible. Especially for the hefty price tag too.

Yeah, no kidding. You would think premium audio along with premium sound, right? I'll wait for a better copy of Our War Game though.

I definitely can't do $500 to pick up the show or the $200ish for the movies, but the day they get localized and subbed, I will be there that VERY second to support it. One day... one day... Maybe once New Group Video/Cinedime is done doing the dubbed sets they will finally do the subbed once. Maybe... hopefully... I know I can never own Pokemon subbed, but Digimon and Yu-Gi-Oh! may still have hope. Monster Farm (Rancher) will be out sometime this year so I will SO be there to get the complete set!

Geez, really? You think charging so much for it would guarantee the quality.

^^ I'd love owning a subbed version of Digimon Adventure. Count me in if they attempt it.

Honestly, I wouldn't just get Adventure, I'd get all of them. All. Of. Them. Even Frontier and The Boy Hunters :x

I would go for Adventure and Tamers, maybe some others depending on my funds at the time.

Edit:
Looks like another figure is being released. Imperialdramon Paladin Mode.

Looks nice, but it's no Metalgarurumon.

I don't know why they changed the name from Wallace to Willis. Wallace is easily pronounced...

Also I still find it weird how he spoke English (in the JP version) to his Mum early in the movie on the phone then at the end of the movie, he speaks in Japanese to her. Also I still LOL at Hurricane Touchdown where one scene is Demiveemon, the next scene is Veemon then back to Demiveemon. It was kinda hilarious how inconsistent that was.

Out of all the things 02 that should carry on in Tri, its Ken and Wormmon.

I still think it makes no sense. How was Ken chosen? Where did his crest come from? Gennai and his friends had made the Digivices/crests and kept them with the eggs until Piedmon attacked.

They never even tried to explain it. He just suddenly had a normal Digivice come out of the PC (which isn't unusual since it happened to a bunch of people for the Digimon World Tour arc... okay it is unusual but Ken isn't alone in that sense) but his crest? It just appeared there and then became his power source for his base but they never explained where the hell his crest came from.

It should have been called the "Crest of Plot" because it's only purpose was to move the plot forward without any explanation for where the hell it came from.

I'm not really much of a fan of Imperialdramon. Omegamon should have been the one instead to be buffed up.

I eventually want to get all the D-Arts/SH Figuarts released, but hmmmm I don't want to import this if a cheaper, domestic version gets announced. Either way, my priority right now is the GEM series.

Saw this on withthewill:

Digimon Adventure has reaired on Animax for awhile in an hour long block in the morning.

Overall not very interesting. What is interesting is what Animax has just scheduled.

A marathon of Adventure episodes, saturday night midnight to 6am Sunday morning for a few weeks, airing 12 episodes in a block.

It begins March 7th/8th and is scheduled to end on April 11th/12th (not using the full six hours this time.)

While it's unlikely that Adventure tri would air on Animax, the date lines up extremely close to when we expect tri to start.

Wait, the show will start in April? Can't believe it's only 2 months left. Where are the other info, Toei?

It's sad how little we know about it. I mean, Nade-Nade started around the beginning of September last year and all we got of substance is a poster. It's been half a year.

On another note, I think I'm going to cave in and join Stuart in importing Cyber Sleuth.

All that Kanji and no Furigana though... that will be painful, lol.
