lol @ people who don't think Ken will be in the initial line up, this is Street Fighter baby, not Versus. When Capcom broke the emergency glass for SF3 it was him and Ryu they inserted into the game, Gouki and Chun had to hold dat L and wait for 2nd Impact and 3rd Strike respectively.

I'm pretty sure that someone leaked that SF5 happened before SF3 but I could be wrong.
Edited: I will try to find it for people who want source on this. It was all over few different threads, and we had like few different people sharing the leaks at once.

Someone claimed to "leak" it, but we have no reason to believe it.
It's probably hovering around SFIII because Ryu and Chun both have moves they only had in 3S. Whether it's before or after, I don't see any compelling reason to see one over the other.

Maybe serious isn't the right word. But I think the best way I can express my feelings is by comparing Honda and Ganryu. Which seems more like a "real" sumo wrestler? Between Balrog and Steve, which character do you feel more like you're actually fighting by boxing?

The Street Figher cast I would describe as more colorful if that's what you mean, yeah. I still think Tekken is really out there though and goofy in its own way.

I wouldn't even say that the block button is their biggest problem. Ok, it's weird, but everybody is probably so used to play MK that way that we would see a lt of complaining if they went with the Injustice control scheme.
They always suffered with an unbalanced roster. MK9 ninjas and some other character simply dominate the others. Of course, it isnt' Injustice-unbalanced, but it is a problem.

Ahh ok, didn't know there was a real reason, because that other one sounded really ridiculous. Well, I guess now they have more than enough power. I want to style and profile in my fighters again, so please put post KO hits back in Capcom.

If the 16 characters rumor is true I hope that after Bison we get no more than one more SFII character(Cammy please), I want pleny of SFIII and new characters.
I'm thinking 4 new characters and maybe 6 SF2 people. Everyone else will be fan favorites from 3 and Alpha and maybe 3 veterans not in USF4.
I don't think Guile will make it in yet because Charlie holds his spot. I'd even argue Ken and Akuma won't make it in so the character variety would be large but they are both extremely popular. Guile will be in eventually, just not in the first edition.

This Charlie plays nothing like Guile though, by the looks of it. So I would say Guile's spot is still there. I think he has as good a chance as anyone else as making it in the initial roster. Minus Remy because lol.

That's true. I just think Capcom views the outfits to be iconic and that's why Sakura still wears that schoolgirl outfit. If they're really going the MOBA route in terms of how they're going to support this game, then i'd expect every character to have an obscene amount of outfits in the long run.
So, when do people expect to see the new fighters? I could see one popping up at E3 while EVO seems like more of a place where they'd show off the return of a long requested character. Someone like Karin, Q, or Mika.
Frankly, I think Capcom really doesn't want a character that plays like Guile in V and I'd be happy with that. One of IV's big issues is that it (successfully) bet everything on the fans who were casually familiar with the phenomenon that was Street Fighter II and were nostalgic for that game. That's why we got a game with a mostly SF2 cast with their wonkily animated moves (upside down Guile kick) and simplistic, smaller movesets. I think they felt if they changed these classic characters too much fans would feel alienated. I think Omega is the testing ground for V and how many of these characters in IV should have played from the get-go.
Frankenstein's Charlie allows then to go even further than just a Guile reboot would allow, making a more interesting and faster paced character. A SFV trailer for Guile that shows off his 2 specials and a bunch of 2 hit combos would seem odd compared to the other cast trailers so far.
Again, I expect Guile to make it eventually and for him to be significantly retooled, just not right away.

Do people really get banned? Some guy that claimed to be a journalist said that characters would be removed in the English version of the Jump game and nothing happened to him.

In North America, players who pre-order the game will automatically be enrolled into the beta program.
Are they locking off the Beta to pre-orders only? Or will it be invite-only as well? I no longer pre-order games.
I'm glad theyre doing a beta - hopefully theyll get things right on PC this time. I'm also hoping they overhaul their lobby system to something more akin to Dota 2, with heavy focus on online competitions / community building, etc.

I'm not expecting much in terms of a client, but I hope they can make it happen. At the very least, let us have some kind of lobby system and basic, fun profile stuff like showcasing your top 3 characters or win streaks or other stats, etc.
Let a mod know. In general, they try to vet people who claim to have inside sources. If they're giving out bad info saying they're "in the know," then yes, the mods will ban them. But the mods aren't everywhere and might not have seen this particular person make those claims.
Including a resurrected evil Charlie without Guile is like having the Winter Soldier without Captain America. Guile's gotta be included.
You probably shouldn't get your hopes up in that regard, seeing as how the game looks like SF4 on steroids.
That would be hilarious, spending the rest of his life searching for Charlie only for everyone else in the SF world to find and fight Charlie except Guile himself in SFV.

I'm almost 100% sure that both Ken, Akuma and Guile will be there.They are too popular and won't fail like in SF3 keeping most the fan favorite characters out of the list.
In addition to that, make sure that in addition to the 16-19 (my bet) characters of the first version there will be a lot more coming through DLC. But they need fan favorites to sell games.

I love this comparison.
I think in SFIV there's some dumb limitation like it only ever plays the character theme for player 1 or something. At least make it so the challenger's theme plays.

I presume that no one report him to moderators. Moferator's can't really check every posts and threads on NeoGAF so it's up to some members to report the wrongoer.
I have seen some members got banned for claiming that they have source and being wrong about it. At long they acting like its 100% sure thing without warning anyone that it might change.

We don't know if he's been turned evil yet, his quote to Chun-Li was ambiguous. He may just been working in more "unorthodox" fashion now.
I mostly agree about Guile though, Abel should be there too. (I'd be fine with Guile just being in the story initially and added later as playable, but Abel needs to be on the roster for sure.)
