Sooo a Skyrim Remaster seems logical to me

Why don't you just buy it on the P.... oh

Vanilla Skyrim is not as interesting honestly, modded Skyrim on the other hand is where fun is!

People seriously need to stop fiending for these remasters.

We're at the point now when you just have to go and plug in your old console or say fuck it. No need to clutter release windows with that old shit anymore.

I feel super elitist for saying this but if you have a PC/laptop of any kind then I'd really recommend going that route. I prefer console myself but mods are huge for games like Skyrim.

skyrim on pc doesn't have a very high hardware requirement, and any remaster will still be locked out of a number of game improving mods that are out there.

a remaster would be better looking... and not a lot else. honestly, if you really want to get invested in skyrim all over again, i would recommend the pc version simply on the basis of being able to install mods to change the content and the gameplay.

Please can we just talk about the chances of, and potential reception of a console remaster of this game. Don't derail the thread with "just buy it on PC"

If they were going to do it I think they would need to do a lot of work to it to get it up to DirectX 11 (and they could then re-release or provide an upgrade on PC too).

I'd rather see them work on Fallout 4 or something new but I might be OK if they just handed off the code to a port studio though.

Buy the PC version

It's not hard

It is not only about buying a PC. I have a gaming PC but I hardly can play on it because I travel overseas for few months every now and then. And carrying my console seems to be more logical. I am sure there are other reasons out there for not gaming much on PC.

Or just let people enjoy their games?

I am currently playing Skyrim at 4K downsampled and with a lot of graphical mods and boy does it make that game beautiful - even without ENB. I fell in love with it all over again. So I'd totally be for a Remaster for my console brethren. It would be absolutely worth the double dip. The climb to the Greybeards with weathermods on and improved draw distance is nothing short of mindblowing.

Because that's the only option in this case. Bethesda is too small to dedicate a significant number of its developers away from Fallout 4. Todd Howard has also rebuffed everyone who asked about remastering Morrowind, he wants to keep doing new games.

Add to the fact that remasters are turning into a cheap trick for publishers to generate some easy profit. It's not a question if it will be abused by publishers, but more a question about when.

Season passes, DLC madness, unfinished games and remasters... Good things come to those who wait (for the GOTY versions)

They should outsource it then, Bluepoint Games probably would improve their potato of an engine.

A Skyrim remaster just doesn't make any sense imo.

But I can definitely see an Elder Scrolls spin-off happening.

i would rather them sink their resources into FO4 and ES6.. or if they have to do a remaster i think Oblivion needs it more. imo people are kind of sick of skyrim already... come back to it a couple years later

To be honest, I don't even find modded Skyrim to be that good. The foundation is kinda bad. Modding makes it tolerable for me. I remember being day one on the game and being so excited for it too.

Yeah, or a Fallout 3 one too. That ran hideous at times, Broken Steel wouldn't finish for me, always would freeze at the exact same spot.

I've been crossing my fingers for a remaster, too. I'm not a PC gamer and would enjoy playing through a more stable & higher fidelity version.

I bought it on Steam for $5 but didn't really play it. I got pretty far into the ps3 version before the load times became too much. Not sure if the loading times increased due to save size or if my tolerance/patience simply decreased. I just got to a point where I wouldn't even want to go into buildings or play anymore. I really enjoyed a lot of the game and story up to that point, though. I did the brotherhood quests where you can become a wolf, I also enjoyed that questline, it was fun to turn into a wolf and rampage

Edit: On topic, yes I'd buy it again on PS4 if a remaster came out

Skyrim is over 3 years old, I'd much rather they work on Fallout 4 and the next Elder Scrolls than "remastering" it for the current consoles.

New games please.

Or just let people enjoy their games?

No.

It will just delay the real transition to this gen even further. It was barely acceptable last year.

Old games like REmake which are hard to come by these days are fine, if not only to educate people, but fuck off with PS3/360 remakes.

There are a lot of console gamers who who do not PC game, do not have rigs that could run Pac Man, let alone Skyrim and have no interest in committing any money into building one, so telling me to "just play the PC version" is like saying " just use mind powers to fly". Useless.

Still, a vanilla remaster I don't think would cut it either, so I'ma fantasy book my Skyrim remaster as I'd want it to be.

1. All DLC included (duh) However, some of the dawnguard quests need to be fixed or tweaked.
2. A series of quests to rebuild Helgen. It always irritates me when you have some city or town destroyed early on and nobody decides to rebuild it. Considering Helgens location in the southern half of the map, it makes no sense it wouldn't be rebuilt. Its at the center of two major roads.
3. I'd like to expand on the whole Hearthfire DLC, involving finding a mate (which should be more than just wearing a stupid amulet) either adopting kids or having them naturally, more to the owning a property than just fighting off giants.
4. Skyrim never got the big Shivering Isles size expansion, so I though one that goes into the northern area of Hammerfell (and a redesigned Falkreath that actually looks like a major border city with a large cemetary).
5. New dragons and other epic type monsters

While I would probably double-dip, if there was going to be a Skyrim: Definitive Edition, something would of surely leaked by now.

Like others, I hope they're currently working on another Fallout or TES game.

I could see one happening in between ESO and a potential Fallout sequel. GTA5 despite selling millions in 2013 did fantastic sales on new systems only a year later for full price.

Recommending the PC version of an Elder Scrolls game is much stronger of a recommendation that most other game series. The modding tools are so extensive and the community so vast, it's by far the most superior version of the game by several lightyears. Even if the PC graphics turned out to be worse than console, it would still be the recommended version.

Oblivion, same thing.

You really don't have to build one

PC Version is great, but the choice of a PS4 version would be nice for those that don't have that option.

This. Some people can be such jerks about their PC superiority.

I love what I've turned Skyrim into on PC. It's far more pretty and immersive because of mods, but there's no reason why console gamers can't have an improved version (especially after the technical issues the PS3 version had).

Skyrim is a fantastic game and I would love to replay it as a remaster. No one is forcing you to buy it.

Buy the PC version/s. Why would anyone want an official remastered version of an Elder Scrolls game? I understand persons of limited economic capacity, but forgo that second/third console of choice for a PC and you'll be happy for it.
