The colors of this photo will appear different to everyone. I think?

This is weird as hell unless the OP changed the image in the past 10 minutes. I originally opened the thread and saw it as white/gold and now it's blue/black.

For everyone struggling to see it more than one way, try priming your vision by staring at a bright or dark image for a few seconds and looking again.

Also, try looking exclusively at the top or bottom of the image.

I am pretty sure you guys are fucking with everyone when you say "white and gold."
I've tried every device, setting, place in my house. Still only ever white and gold. I have no idea how people can see anything but white and gold. At all. Either I'm crazy, or everyone else is.

Me and my girlfriend are both looking at it at the same time and are seeing it differently. This is some twilight zone shit.

Same happened to me and my wife earlier. We were looking at at the same time on the same phone and seeing two different things.

she actually got really mad at me at first because she thought I was trolling her

I can see the darker color as a dark gold if I stare enough (my mind sees it and thinks "washed out black") but no matter how hard I try there is no natural lighting/bulb that can account for the blue.

I think knowing that the dress is actually blue and black has changed it to blue and black in my perception. When I first saw it I was dead sure it was white and gold.

THIS is not what the question is.

People are talking about the dress "in the image". No one gives a shit about what it is IRL above trying to found out the correct answer. The photo, itself, is what people are arguing about.

Look at the title of this thread for example.

Ok, ignore the OP. Do this for me, please. Ignoring everyone else in the thread and removing all context:

What colour is the dress IRL for you? That's literally all I want to know.

When I first saw the image, considering the light source, and all I say white and gold.

But this thread, this monster of a thread. This gaf civil war of a thread. I has made me question all that I have known. All that I love, all that I feel.

Who are we, to say that we see what we see, and that what we see is real? How has it come to this!?

We are but men and women and almost men and almost women and yet we still, we still do not see or know as to what we might be seeing.

It's one thing to attack the likes and interests of others, but this thread has shown me, my fellow gaffers, that maybe, just maybe, we all see things very vey differently for very different reasons. One's likes and dislikes are seen by the light and exposure that others have not.

So I say, do not shun those who who see the dress in another way, but rather embrase them, and love them, and sing them sweet nothings for they are just like you! Just like you in that they are human. They are human and see things with their eyes and with their hearts and all you can do is to show and expect to be shown the contents of your own eyes and heart.

Thank you neogaf.
Thank you OP.

May we all see that it is not whether the dress is white and gold or blue and black but rather that it is a dress and we see it and we see it for what it is.

An ugly ugly dress

Haha this exact same thing happened to the wife and I. She thought I was playing a joke on her because I showed it to her

Alright now I'm only seeing blue and black :/

This is what did it for me. Look at the small image then the bigger one turned blue and black for me.

I keep trying to mess with brightness and stuff but I can't get it to turn white. I can't even process how it's being seen like that.

Yeah, that kind of hard-locked my color correction. I wonder if it depends on which part of the picture your brain focuses on first, which creates a bias in how you perceive it.
OP's "explanation" sounds like some bullshit. What's the source for it?
Tumblr.

I can change it between black and blue to white and gold depending on how I look at it.

If I look at it dead-on it's white and gold.

If I look at it using only my peripheral vision it becomes black and blue.

Try it yourself and see if you can get it to change.

Holy shit the smaller one was blue and black and then I glanced away, it's white and gold!

Blue and black for me. However I should note that when I was out in the sun it looked white and gold. Only under clear indoor lighting is it blue and black. Weird.

I see it as gold and white, I showed it to my roommate and he agreed, my roommate's boyfriend came up and it as blue and called us both crazy. What in the world is this? ._.
