Here's hoping the 4Kai is still on track for release on Monday. Anyone have experience with Hori product release dates on Amazon? Do they usually hold pretty well?

Not really to be honest. They usually slip by days or weeks. the Xbone RAPV-Hayabusa was a month late I think. I wouldn't be holding my breath for that VLX Kuro to ship on "release" day either. Hori releases shit like AMD/nVidia release graphics cards.

Haha, yeah, that's kinda what I recall. I should probably expect a few week slip just to avoid being disappointed.

So am I in for that good feeling going from a SFIV TE arcade stick to the new VLX? My Tekken cravings are going out of control. Ugh, the wait for May is going to be brutal.

My VLX isn't as bad, but wiping it down with rubbing alcohol stripped some paint :-(

Really tempted to get the new VLX though...

The paint issues are pretty much scaring me into leaving mine in the box and selling it whenever since I can't cancel.... D:

However, one SRK user actually got his replaced under warranty when he had paint issues, though it seemed to be ruled as a defect.

Anybody want to buy my VLX for $200 lol? The new one looks absolutely amazing and I must have it. I'm going to try and get rid of my old one to get this. It has some paint issues as well though. It is dual modded to work on PS3 and 360 so hopefully that will make it more appealing to potential buyers.

When has wiping a painted surface down with alcohol ever been an acceptable form of maintenance? I understand that the OG VLX's paint shouldn't strip so easily, but still...

I just preordered the new VLX, now I have that and a Mad Catz TE2 on the way. And I'm not planning on canceling the TE2 pre order. What I am going to do is part ways with a couple of my older sticks. I'm going to try to sell my original VLX and Official EVO branded MCZ stick. The VLX has paint issues as well, I wanted to invest in getting art work and paint done to make it look brand new again. But the new VLX just looks so damn sexy that I'd rather just replace it with it then invest in pretty'ing up my old one. As for the EVO stick, I got it as a collectors item but honestly I never cared much for it. I opened it one time to use it and have never used it again since then.

If anybody is interested then PM me and I'll try to give you a good deal. My wife was OK with me getting the TE2, but I wasn't getting the new VLX unless I part ways with some of my older sticks. Which I have no problem with.

Is it better to pre order from Hori USA or that other store?

Arcadeshock. They give you the option of double boxing, so the box it comes in can be preserved. That's important to collectors and really helps resale value.

Also, they allow canceling the preorder. I emailed to cancel my order after seeing all the people affected by the paint chipping in this very thread and they replied they would refund me in a bit.

How can you guys defend the paint chipping? That's just bad design.

If you have bad perspiration especially it's gonna fade onto your palms/hands.

My old red one had some fading on left hand side because I played it on my lap often.

Anyone good with Fiberglass? I picked up a second cab and the right side shattered when getting it in the door. I did use an epoxy to get it back together. Thinking about using Bondo to see if that will do the trick but if someone has an extra panel or replica id appreciate it.

Because I've had one for over a year and have had no problems. Because it's the best stick ever made.

I came to the same conclusion and ordered two from Arcade Shock double boxed with free FedEx. Hori's USA online store has no FedEX and no UPS. Anything else like the USPS is a nightmare. I just got a New 3DS XL today (28th) that shipped USPS on the 12th for example.

Granted the paint could be better. But it's metal. I can paint metal. I can't turn plastic into metal. It's much much harder to find a stick of this quality with all these features. Unless some custom stick maker pops up with dual PS3/PS4 sticks...

Padhack dualshocks actually work on ps3 as well, you just don't get the home button.

I thought about selling my vlx, but I want to have one of each.

Actually decided not to get rid of anything, lol.

Of course I just spent a small fortune on two Hori VLX Premium sticks. That's more than my PS4!! But I figure it's like a savings plan if I ever want to liquidate one.

Ugh I already put in my order the the Kai few weeks ago...

Tempted to cancel it and order one of these but I need a ps4 fight stick ASAP and I will probably just have this to keep in the box for collecting anyways. I hope they release a newer VLX in a year or two so I could justify spending that much.

Their value should definitely rise whenever these things are out into the wild and can't be found anywhere after the limited stock is sold. If I know this was coming I would have sold my old VLX months ago when the stock was still high.

Arcade Shock will get all my business. The paint thing is not a deal breaker btw.

I was too excited and pre ordered from Hori as soon as I could before looking at any other alternatives lol. I wish I had just in case I change my mind about this. In the end I doubt I will.

Seems like you have the optimal gaming experience there. Honestly the iCade stuff was never up to snuff in my testing. It'll require heavy modding.

Just pre-ordered a VLX from Arcade Shock!

Not surprisingly, they're out of stock on black OBFS-30s. Does anyone have any thoughts on GamerFinger HBFS-30-G2s? I want to replace the stock Kuros, but I don't want to mess with the aesthetics of the VLX.

Does anyone here have experience with Hori Kuro buttons? I'm most familiar with Sanwas, but I have one of the new Kais on order and it comes with the Kuros. I took to Google and read a dozen or so comparisons and it seems that the Kuros can have a sticking/squeaking issue. I was a click away from ordering some Sanwas but think I'm going to force myself to at least give the Kuros a fair shake before doing so. I do like the idea of them being more "tactile" feeling that some have mentioned.

Does anyone like the Kuros? Has anyone modded them (filing/etc.) to eliminate sticking/squeaking/etc?

EDIT: I'm really looking forward to trying the Hayabusa.

My kuro buttons have been fine, but they lack the clicky feeling of sanwas. I don't have any issues with sticking or squeaking either. They're fine buttons, but I still prefer Sanwa or even seimitsu personally.

Ouch. 90USD shipping if I were to import a VLX towards the EU. And there will be custom fees too. I better get a local alternative haha. Thing is too heavy to be doing that.

Anyone gotten any updates on their HRAP Kai pre-orders from amazon at all? Mines supposed to get here on the 3rd and I haven't even been charged yet.
