Three in March - Backlog Pillars of Eternity

Can you complete three games in March? It doesn't matter when you started them, just try to finish them this month. Post your goals and share your progress!

Also:
Would people be interested in it being 4 games in a month sometimes, to raise the challenge, or is 3 in a month high enough?

Did fall one game short last month. But already beat one game this morning.

Hyrule Warriors (Wii U)
Okami HD (PS3)
Metal Gear Solid 3 HD (PS3)
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker HD (PS3)
Shin Megami Tensei IV (3DS)
Gunman Clive (3DS)
Gunman Clive 2 (3DS)

Really enjoyed Hyrule Warriors. If I wouldn't have my.backlog I would probably tackle the Adventure Mode, too.

Don't think I can finish all games this month. But at least Shin Megami Tensei IV and both Gunman Clives should be doable.

Im almost done with my Ps3 backlog! So exciting.

- Xblaze
- Tales of Xillia 2
- ni no kuni

2 rpgs and one VN. Ni no kuni should be the perfect sendoff for my PS3.

Gonna beat 4 this month.

Finishing Dragon Age.
Transistor
Finishing Crimson Shroud
Bloodborne.

Maybe I will tackle another if I can get dragon age done soon enough.

I managed to finish 9 games in February which I'm happy with. I will be busy in March so I won't be able to keep that pace but maybe I can hit 6.

- New Super Luigi U Completed on 4/3/15
- Metroid Prime Completed on 9/3/15
- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Completed on 25/3/15
- Kid Icarus: Uprising
- Valiant Hearts The Great War
- Ico
- Shadow of the Colossus

This month I'll also be playing Driveclub and CoD: AW - Havoc DLC.

I also have Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, Assassin's Creed Unity and Far Cry 4 borrowed from a friend I need to get through so if I can make some headway with those three I'd be really happy.

Largely copy-and-pasted from my post for the end of February as a marker for my to-do list:

Hexcells Infinite: My drive's gone down a bit to keep pushing; kept making silly mistakes in one level and started over each time. Leaving it a bit to forget most of the pattern so I won't rush in and instead solve it again when I come back.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: An obscure game, but you might have heard of it. Yep, I've finally got around to playing one of the most influential games of the last generation. I have to say, I think I get it now! The campaign's much, much better at storytelling than previous CoDs have been, and the production values are through the roof. A bit shallow on the gameplay front, but what it does do, it genuinely does very well indeed.
Picross E5: Finished E4 last month. Won't be pushing hard on this - it's a game for random brief occasions - but I'll keep plugging away.
Watching all the Pirates of the Carribean films: This was on the list sometime last year, but I didn't get around to it then; the main game-related reason is that when I've watched them, I can move on to Lego Pirates of the Carribean of my Lego games playthroughs. For now, three down, one to go.
Lego Pirates of the Carribean: I've made a start in line with the films I've seen, so I've played through The Curse of the Black Pearl.
The Denpa Men: A bit grindy, but enjoyable enough. Loving the monster designs.

My list for the month:

  • Bloodborne
  • Dead or Alive 5: Final Round
  • Demon's Souls (US version)
  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut
  • Final Fantasy Type-0 HD
  • Helldivers
  • Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number
  • Life is Strange: Episode 2
  • The Witcher 2

Almost all new games this month. My wallet and backlog will be crying.

This month, I want to beat...

Shadowmatic on IOS.
Zelda: Twilight Princess on Wii.
Game 3 TBA.

I have finished the three games.

Finished:
Majora's Mask 3D: Finished on the 1st. Very good, only sometimes had me thinking it wasn't fun. Great atmosphere. I'm noticing that a number of games I like recently have planning as a major component.
Pokemon Shuffle: I've finished the 165 current main stages, without any microtransactions.
Atelier Shallie: I finished Shallotte's story. I didn't mind the major changes in this game from the usual formula, but I was disappointed by the lack of polish.
Episode Duscae: I'll count it. :)

Also Playing:
Dragon Quest VIII: I was playing it on my phone (22 hours in) but decided to switch over to my PS2 version for the superior camera controls, which make moving around dungeons much better. I have now passed where I was on my phone, but other games took over my attention. Now that I finished Atelier Shallie, I might focus on it again.
The Swapper: Just two puzzles left.
Phantom Hourglass: I thought I'd try it again. The stylus controls feel really unnatural, and button controls aren't offered. But it seems to have personality and I'll give it a better go. I am doing the ocean king temple with the spirit power.

might and magic x - i'm in the last dungeon

Phoenix wright - I just need to complete case 5

Donkey kong tropical freeze - I haven't started yet

Finished Mind: Path to Thalamus after midnight, so technically it was March. I'm still plugging away at Super Mario 3D World. I've made great progress today. All worlds except the final level of the Fire Flower world have been 100% completed. Now I just need to get through this ridiculous boss rush stage in order for me to unlock the final crazy ass hard stages. I also intend to start and finish Lone Survivor, and I'll be slowly chipping away at Far Cry 3 and Pushmo.

Once Bloodborne arrives all other games will fall to the wayside.

1. Mind: Path to Thalamus
2. Super Mario 3D World
3. Lone Survivor: The Director's Cut
4. Far Cry 3
5. Pushmo/Pullblox

Gonna be a PC focused month for me:

Cites: Skylines (PC) (will probably class completion as playing through a couple of cites but as a sandbox game this will eat up a lot of time)
Grow Home (PC)
Lego Movie Video Game (PS4)

I also want to get Saints Row 3 (still working on it...) and 4 platinum's this month.

Will be picking at type-0 at the end of the month so aim to get most of my 3 done before then.

My three:

Bayonetta - I'm probably more than half done this game, would really like to finish it so I can get started on Bayonetta 2.
Transistor - Loved Bastion, hope this one is just as good.
Shadow of Mordor - Just bought it, can't wait to play it.

Bonus:
Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze - My on-again off-again go to game on the Wii U. Should probably just finish it.

I had a good February, I finished the three games on my list in the last thread (Shadow of Mordor, Transistor and the Swapper) as well as The Order 1886 and Tomb Raider DE.

On my list for beating this month.

- Toukiden
- Flower
- Infamous First Light
- Oddworld New 'n' Tasty
- Strider
- PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate
- Rogue Legacy

I have no idea how many I'll actually get through given that I'm also planning on picking up Bloodborne, FF Type-0 (with FFXV demo) and Toukiden Kiwami in March as well.

Alright, I'm in. I just picked up a PS4 and a couple games, so now my backlog has grown quite a bit, but on the plus side, I've been wanting to play it pretty much constantly since I got it, so I should definitely be able to finish all three this time.

Yakuza 4 (PS3)
Watch Dogs (PS4)
Fate/stay night [Realta Nua] - Heaven's Feel (PC)
Wolfenstein: The New Order (PS4)
The Evil Within (PS4)
Persona 4 Golden (Vita)

This month I'll try to finish some shorter games, hence the longer than usual list.

Super Luigi U
Attack of the Friday Monsters
Antichamber
Broken Age
Gone Home
Gunpoint
Reus

My month is simple (but the games are MASSIVE):

Dead Rising 3 (Xbox One)
Far Cry 4 (PS4)
LittleBigPlanet 3 (PS4)
Dragon Age: Inquisition (Xbox One)

I completed 12 games last month, a great effort if I do say so myself, I doubt March will be anywhere near as good, but lets hope! Ive got all the bigger AAA games on my list for this month

Xbox One:
Sleeping Dogs
Life is Strange Episode 1
Rayman Legends
Screamride
Ori and the Blind Forest
The Escapists
Kalimba
Halo CEA
Grand Theft Auto V
Rayman Legends

PC:
Retro City Rampage DX
Mad Games Tycoon

Playstation 4:
Infamous Second Son
Killzone Shadow Fall
Helldivers

Mad Games Tycoon doesn't seem to have an "end" point per se, but I've played it for so long that there aren't any new consoles coming, the market % for each console hasn't changed in a decade and there is nothing left to unlock therefore given that I've beat it on each of easy/medium/hard I'm going to consider it beat.

Going to aim for:

  • Dying Light
  • Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
  • The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D
I'm on vacation this week, so this month should be fairly easy.

Last month went pretty well for me.

Only have one game at the moment I want to finish. Not sure if I will tackle Metroid Prime Trilogy or start ZombiU together with OlliOlli2 and Hotline Miami 2. I will only be able to play next week anyway so I have some time to make up my mind.

  • Resident Evil Revelaitons
  • tba

After finishing SIX in February, I'm looking to stay strong in March. Here's my list:

  • The Walking Dead: Season 1 Chapter 3 - Finished 3/1/2015
  • The Walking Dead: Season 1 Chapter 4 - Finished 3/4/2015
  • The Walking Dead: Season 1 Chapter 5 - Finished 3/5/2015
  • The Walking Dead: 400 Days - Finished 3/5/2015
  • Octodad: Deadliest Catch (PC) - Finished 3/8/2015
  • Asura's Wrath (X360) - Finished 3/9/2015
  • Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons (PC) - Finished 3/14/2015
  • Alpha Protocol (PC) - Finished 3/23/2015
  • Transistor (PC) - Finished 3/30/2015
  • Never Alone (Kisima Ingitchuna) (PC) - Started 3/30/3015
  • Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen (X360) - Started 3/30/3015

EDIT: Nine in March!

Go on, I'll try to stick with it this time:

Lego LOTR (PS3) this one I wrapped up today. A lot of post game 100% completion type content to potentially chase, but ain't no body got time for that.

Luigi's Mansion 2: currently in the third tower, progressing nicely. The amount of intricate touches and details in the game are fantastic.

God of War 3: just got past the opening stage. Staggering and jaw dropping.

As a maybe if time allows: Puppeteer.

Asura's Wrath: I started this game a week ago. I am almost done with it (unlocking the secret chapter atm).

Vanquish: I heard a lot of great things about this game. I am going to complete this game fairly quick. I don't think it's very long.

Unknown: For my third game, I am not sure yet. I hope to finish more than three because I am buying a couple of them this month. Bloodborne is definitely going to played as soon as I get my hands on it.

Update 1: Asura's Wrath is now finished. I highly recommend it. It has one of best looking end bosses. Sadly, the gameplay is not up to par with the story, and the artwork. The next game on the list is... Vanquish!

Update 2: Played a bit of Vanquish (one hourish). So far, it's alright. Nothing super crazy yet. I am hoping that I get newer abilities that makes it super awesome cool crazy.

Update 3: Vanquish is turning out to be a pretty awesome game. The boss fights, and killing the regular enemies requires you to use almost two to three of your moves in most cases, and they're starting to introduce more variety in enemies. I also encountered this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Yz8vS_ofZgo and seeing this made playing the game worthwhile investment.

Update 4: I finished up Vanquish. It was a pretty pleasant experience at the end. I found out about how awesome the various guns are within the game near the end of it. I highly encourage anyone who plays Vanquish to use the various weapons the game gives you instead of sticking with the same gun setup every time.

Update 5: I decided to begin playing The Talos Principle. I am one hour into it, and I have been enjoying it. The puzzles are not difficult at the moment, but I am sure they will get complex as things move forward. This game has a lot of story text in it as well, and most of it has been pretty interesting. Looking forward to playing it again soon.

Update 6: I have played quite a bit of Talos since the last update. This game is super long. And I am not even going to collect the stars anymore. I feel that I am close to being done, but I am not getting my hopes up. This game is much more than a simple puzzle game. I highly recommend everyone to give it a shot. It is well worth your time if you're willing to give it.

Update 7: I have ended up playing more than three games. The next game that I managed to finish within one day is Hotline Miami. It was an awesome game. I highly recommend it.

Update 8: I have started Hotline Miami 2. I am enjoying it so far. The music is fantastic, and the gameplay is a bit more difficult. Looking forward to see what else it has to offer.

Backlog:

Another World
Saints Row IV: Re-Elected
Rayman Legends
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (eugh)

New releases:

Life is Strange: Episode 1
Resident Evil: Revelations 2
Battlefield Hardline
Mario Party 10 (as much as it can be beat)
Ori and the Blind Forest
OlliOlli and OlliOlli2
LA Cops

Five is my current goal (as I'm part of the 52 game challenge). Right now, it's looking like:

1: Alan Wake
2: Amnesia: The Dark Descent
3: Antichamber
4: Resident Evil HD
5: The Swapper

Of course, any of these could change as new games come out this month (like Type-0 and Pillars of Eternity). I'm also working on FFIV (Steam) which I may or may not get through.

  • Tomb Raider Definitive Edition (PS4)
  • The Last of Us: Left Behind (PS3)
  • ???

Don't see myself beating Bloodborne within March, but who knows.

Might beat Dark Souls (PS3) if I revisit it. Should at least try to since Nito is supposedly easy and that's where I'm at. ToTG is a terrible area though. Scratch that. In Lost Izoleth now, but going to tackle the DLC content and finish some odds and ends with stats and weapons before proceeding. Probably an April completion depending how much time I spend with Bloodborne

My list is:
  1. Assassin's Creed Unity
  2. The Last of Us: Left Behind
  3. GTA V
  4. Far Cry 4
  5. Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number

Hell, it is going to be a great month for me :)

Let's try that again. Beat nothing in February, I spent most of it playing Persona.

Valiant Hearts
Replay of BioShock 1+2
Persona 4 Golden

Also want to finish Hotline Miami 2 by month's end, but it's not in my backlog, so I'm not counting it as one of the three. Yes, I get these are really unrealistic, but it's worth a try.

[3DS] Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth - in progress
[WiiU] Kirby and the Rainbow Curse - in progress
[3DS Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate- in progress

I'd really like to get these out the way before my March pickups drop. I'm not sure if MH is one of those games you can "finish" but we'll see.

RECAP from February (3/3, 100%) -

1 - The Order: 1886 / PS4

Purchased on release day and finished it February 21st on the hard difficulty setting in approximately 14 hours. Excellent game and 9/10 in my opinion.

2 - Assassin's Creed: Unity / PS4

Finished the story February 22nd. Was playing Dead Kings but quit because I couldn't deal with the horrible controls, free running, parkour, camera and button response time anymore as it was aggravating and frustrating me to no end.

3 - Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris / PS4

Finished February 28th. Good but short game and for whatever reason, I enjoyed the original more than this one. Still a good game and for $8, a steal.

MARCH

I'll be buying anywhere from two to seven games in March with the first two listed below being 100%. The other five games are all 50/50 and include Helldivers/PS4, Zombie Army Trilogy/PS4, Ori and the Blind Forest/Xbox One, Resident Evil Revelations 2/PS4 and Axiom Verge/PS4.

1 - Battlefield: Hardline / PS4

Will pre-order the week before it comes out so I can get that $10 reward certificate from Best Buy, pick up on release day and most likely finish the single player campaign before the second game on my list is released.

2 - Bloodborne / PS4

Will buy on release day and while I doubt that I'll finish the game before March ends, it's on my list simply because it's the only other guaranteed 100% purchase for the month.

3 - Assassin's Creed II / Xbox 360

On the list only because im halfway or so through the game but I haven't played it since last July. If I end up not buying any other PS4 games before Battlefield, this will probably be the game that I play and finish. However, this can be changed as the month progresses.

1. Dragon Age: Inquisition (XBO)
I've heard this one is quite long. I'm only a few hours in, doubt I'll beat it by the end of the month.

2. Syndicate (X360)
I'm already more than 50% done, this should be completed very soon.

3. Resident Evil 6 (X360)
I beat Leon's campaign and I'm a bit bored of it. This one will take me a while.

4. Banjo Kazooie (N64/XBLA)
This one should be do-able. Want to finally beat it after so many years.

Persona Q - already over 40 hours into it and at the fourth dungeon.
Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask - played for almost 3 and a half hours
Pokemon Shuffle - stuck on mega mawile

Going with these for now...

PS4:
The Order: 1886

Wii U:

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse

3DS:
Ace Combat: Assault Horizon+

Didn't finish Atelier Ayesha last month since I wasn't really enjoying it.

Let's see.. for this month:
  • Tales of Hearts R
  • Ys II
  • Ys Oath in Felghana
Should be easy enough
